Ouachita names 2019 Alumni Milestone Award recipients

Ouachita Baptist University recognized five outstanding alumni in the 10th class of Ouachita Alumni Milestone Award recipients at its Homecoming football game on Saturday, Oct. 5: Mauricio Vargas, Dr. Jim Spann, Brad Sullivan, Dr. Sarah Beth Harrington and Laura Cox. Jaalen Watkins, former OBU football player, dies in car accident at age 21

Jaalen Watkins, a junior kinesiology major at Ouachita Baptist University, died from injuries sustained in a car accident on Thursday, July 3. He was a passenger in a car that was involved in a two-vehicle accident on I-630 in Little Rock, according to Arkansas State Police

Ouachita Office of Communications earns 11 state and national awards

Honoring diverse communications projects produced over the past year, Ouachita’s Office of Communications staff recently earned 11 state and national awards from three professional communications organizations. This year’s honors included seven national awards from Baptist Communicators Association and one from Collegiate Advertising Awards as well as three statewide awards from the Arkansas chapter of the International Association of Business Communicators
