NEED ANALYSIS OF VOCATIONAL EDUCATION TEACHERS IN TERMS OF 21ST CENTURY SKILLS

Bu arastirmada 'Mesleki Egitim ve Ögretim Ögrencilerinin Istihdam Edilebilirligini Artirmak Için Mesleki Beceri Ögretmenlerinin Egitilmesi' baslikli Projenin fikri çiktilarindan biri olan ihtiyaç analizi çalismasi kapsaminda meslek lisesi ögretmenlerinin 21. yy becerilerine yönelik farkindalik ve algilarini belirlemek amaçlanmistir. Proje ortagi ülkeler olan Türkiye, Letonya, Ispanya ve Portekiz'deki meslek lisesi ögretmenlerinin hangi 21. yy becerilerine ihtiyaç duyduklari, bu belirlenen becerilerde kendilerini ne kadar yetkin olarak algiladiklarina iliskin olarak ortaklarla birlikte gelistirilen ve pilot uygulama sonrasi son hali verilen 64 maddelik veri toplama araci kullanilmistir. Çalismaya dört ülkeden toplam 247 meslek lisesi ögretmeni veri saglamistir. Veri toplama aracinin iç tutarlilik anlaminda güvenirlik katsayisi .917 olarak hesaplanmistir. Yapilan analiz sonucunda 21. yy becerileri olarak öne çikanlar; iletisim ve bilgi teknolojilerinin kullanimi, isbirligi ve takim çalismasi, yaraticilik ve yenilikçilik, problem çözme, elestirel düsünme ve sürdürülebilirliktir. Tüm ülkelerdeki ögretmenler kendilerini en çok is birligi ve takim çalismasi becerisinde yetkin hissederken, kendilerini daha az yetkin hissettikleri sürdürülebilirlik ve yaraticilik ve yenilikçilik becerilerinin oldugu sonucuna ulasilmistir. Ayni zamanda ülkeler bazinda incelendiginde ülkelerin birbirlerine çok yakin sonuçlar gösterdikleri görülmüstür. Ortalama puanlar üzerinden ülkeler ayirt edilmeden bakildiginda puanlarin 3.46 ile 4.10 arasinda degisim gösterdigi, ülkeler göz önüne alindiginda ise 3.15 ile 4.35 arasinda dagildigi sonucuna ulasilmistir. Ihtiyaç analizi ile gelistirilecek egitim programinin içerigi ve beceriler bazinda önem verilecek noktalarin ortaya konmasi saglanmistir. (Bu çalisma, T.C. Avrupa Birligi Bakanligi, AB Egitim ve Gençlik Programlari Merkezi Baskanliginca yürütülen Gençlik Programi kapsaminda ve Avrupa Komisyonu'ndan saglanan hibeyle gerçeklestirilen 2016-1-TR01-KA202-035291 kodlu 'Mesleki Egitim ve Ögretim Ögrencilerinin Istihdam Edilebilirligini Artirmak için Mesleki Beceri Ögretmenlerinin Egitilmesi' baslikli projeden üretilmistir.)In this study it is aimed to determine the awareness and perceptions of vocational education teachers in terms of 21st century skills in the context of the one of the intellectual outputs, that is the need analysis, of the project titled 'Training of VET Teachers on Key Skills to Increase the Employability of VET Students'. The data collection tool made up of 64 items prepared by the collaboration of the partners of the project namely; Turkey, Latvia, Spain and Portugal and finalized after a pilot application aimed to assess which 21st century skills the vocational educational teachers needed and in which of the skills they feel themselves competent. A total of 247 vocational education teachers from the aforementioned four countries provided data to the study. The reliability coefficient of the data collection tool in terms of internal consistency was calculated as .917. According to the analysis made, the outstanding 21st century skills are the usage of communication and information technologies, collaboration and teamwork, creativity and innovation, problem solving, critical thinking and sustainability. It was seen that teachers in all countries felt themselves competent mostly in collaboration and teamwork skill whereas the least competent in sustainability and creativity and innovation skills. When examined in comparison of the countries it was seen that all countries had very similar results. Without practicing any favoritism of the avareage scores in terms of the countries, the scores have varied between 3.46 and 4.10; considering the countries the scores distributed between 3.15 and 4.35. With the need analysis conducted, the content of the training programs as well as the points to be considered in terms of the skills were put forward.
