Тhe structural organisation of lichens at a consortium organisation level of the ecosystems is considered. The analysis of species composition and regularities of lichens distribution in Ulmus laevis and Populus nigra consortia in territory of mining and smelting complex of Kryvyi Rih Basin is carried out. It is established that taxonomical structure of lichens consists of 8 lichen species of 6 genera and 5 families. It is ascertained that species composition and regularities of lichens distribution in consortia is determined by the type of industrial load. Predominance of the crustose lichens in the determinants’ consortia, insignificant part of the foliose lichens and total lack of fruticose forms is possible consequence of industrial influence.

This report is the SOSORT Consensus Paper on School Screening for Scoliosis discussed at the 4th International Conference on Conservative Management of Spinal Deformities, presented by SOSORT, on May 2007. The objectives were numerous, 1) the inclusion of the existing information on the issue, 2) the analysis and discussion of the responses by the meeting attendees to the twenty six questions of the questionnaire, 3) the impact of screening on frequency of surgical treatment and of its discontinuation, 4) the reasons why these programs must be continued, 5) the evolving aim of School Screening for Scoliosis and 6) recommendations for improvement of the procedure

Experiment and Simulation of Static Softening Behavior of Alloyed Steel during Round Bar Hot Rolling

Static softening is a crucial mechanism during the hot rolling of steel to relax residual stress and strain, refine microstructure, and improve mechanical properties. In this study, double hit tests with varying temperature, strain rate, interpass time, and pre-strains were performed using a Gleeble machine to investigate static softening behavior. Based on experimental results, a kinetic model of static softening was developed to represent interpass softening behavior during hot rolling. An explicit static softening model was implemented as a subroutine into a three-dimensional finite element model of round bar hot rolling and static softening was simulated. Results show that static softening occurs quickly at the beginning of the interpass time and then slows down. Also, the effects of temperature and rolling speed on static softening were simulated and the results show that temperature has a more significant influence on static softening than rolling speed

Interprocedural analysis for privileged code placement and tainted variable detection

    No full text
Abstract. In Java 2 and Microsoft.NET Common Language Runtime (CLR), trusted code has often been programmed to perform accessrestricted operations not explicitly requested by its untrusted clients. Since an untrusted client will be on the call stack when access control is enforced, an access-restricted operation will not succeed unless the client is authorized. To avoid this, a portion of the trusted code can be made “privileged. ” When access control is enforced, privileged code causes the stack traversal to stop at the trusted code frame, and the untrusted code stack frames will not be checked for authorization. For large programs, manually understanding which portions of code should be made privileged is a difficult task. Developers must understand which authorizations will implicitly be extended to client code and make sure that the values of the variables used by the privileged code are not “tainted” by client code. This paper presents an interprocedural analysis for Java bytecode to automatically identify which portions of trusted code should be made privileged, ensure that there are no tainted variables in privileged code, and detect “unnecessary ” and “redundant ” privileged code. We implemented the algorithm and present the results of our analyses on a set of large programs. While the analysis techniques are in the context of Java code, the basic concepts are also applicable to non-Java systems with a similar authorization model

    State/event-based software model checking

Abstract. We present a framework for model checking concurrent software systems which incorporates both states and events. Contrary to other state/event approaches, our work also integrates two powerful verification techniques, counterexample-guided abstraction refinement and compositional reasoning. Our specification language is a state/event extension of linear temporal logic, and allows us to express many properties of software in a concise and intuitive manner. We show how standard automata-theoretic LTL model checking algorithms can be ported to our framework at no extra cost, enabling us to directly benefit from the large body of research on efficient LTL verification. We have implemented this work within our concurrent C model checker, MAGIC, and checked a number of properties of OpenSSL-0.9.6c (an open-source implementation of the SSL protocol) and Micro-C OS version 2 (a real-time operating system for embedded applications). Our experiments show that this new approach not only eases the writing of specifications, but also boasts important gains both in space and in time during verification. In certain cases, we even encountered specifications that could not be verified using traditional pure event-based or state-based approaches, but became tractable within our state/event framework. We report a bug in the source code of Micro-C OS version 2, which was found during our experiments.
