Two- and Three-particle States in a Nonrelativistic Four-fermion Model in the Fine-tuning Renormalization Scheme. Goldstone mode "against" extension theory

    Get PDF
In a nonrelativistic contact four-fermion model we show that simple regularisation prescriptions together with a definite fine-tuning of the cut-off-parameter dependence of ``bare'' quantities give the exact solutions for the two-particle sector and Goldstone modes. Their correspondence with the self-adjoint extension into Pontryagin space is established leading to self-adjoint semi-bounded Hamiltonians in three-particle sectors as well. Renormalized Faddeev equations for the bound states with Fredholm properties are obtained and analysed.Comment: 23 pages, LaTeX, changed content, added references and two figures, to appear in the Few Body System

Electric Current and Noise in Long GaN Nanowires in the Space-Charge Limited Transport Regime

We studied electric current and noise in planar GaN nanowires (NWs). The results obtained at low voltages provide us with estimates of the depletion effects in the NWs. For larger voltages, we observed the space-charge limited current (SCLC) effect. The onset of the effect clearly correlates with the NW width. For narrow NWs the mature SCLC regime was achieved. This effect has great impact on fluctuation characteristics of studied NWs. At low voltages, we found that the normalized noise level increases with decreasing NW width. In the SCLC regime, a further increase in the normalized noise intensity (up to 1E4 times) was observed, as well as a change in the shape of the spectra with a tendency towards slope -3/2. We suggest that the features of the electric current and noise found in the NWs are of a general character and will have an impact on the development of NW-based devices.Comment: 12 pages, 4 figures in Fluctuation and Noise Letters (2017

Prompt muon contribution to the flux underwater

We present high energy spectra and zenith-angle distributions of the atmospheric muons computed for the depths of the locations of the underwater neutrino telescopes. We compare the calculations with the data obtained in the Baikal and the AMANDA muon experiments. The prompt muon contribution to the muon flux underwater due to recent perturbative QCD-based models of the charm production is expected to be observable at depths of the large underwater neutrino telescopes. This appears to be probable even at rather shallow depths (1-2 km), provided that the energy threshold for muon detection is raised above ∌100\sim 100 TeV.Comment: 7 pages, RevTeX, 7 eps figures, final version to be published in Phys.Rev.D; a few changes made in the text and the figures, an approximation formula for muon spectra at the sea level, the muon zenith-angle distribution table data and references adde

Global and Glocal Trade Streams Assessment in the Subjects of the Northwestern Federal District Trade

The relevance of the article is connected with the fact that the phenomenon of globalization and the related process of a glocalisation needs a quantitative assessment. The purpose is to establish the factors having universal meaning for the export of all subjects of the Northwestern Federal District and factors having special meaning for some of them. Secondly, our purpose was to define a weight of these special (glocal) variables in comparison to global. The gravitation equation characterizing the main regularities of export of the Northwestern Federal District subjects is received. The quality of the model for forecasting is sufficient. The simplified gravitation equation in a multiplicative form is offered. Model lets to establish export of the subject of the Northwestern Federal District connection with variables of glocality (existence of the common sea and belonging of the country of import to the European continent). Existence of the common overland borders doesn’t play an essential role. The share of the glocal factors defining the streams of foreign trade makes 11%. The signs which distinguish trade of border subjects are: the volume of trade is higher than an average; in each bilateral direction goods of three or more Harmonized System chapters are shipped. Export dependence on global characteristics such as the level of regional economic integration of the country and the Liner Shipping Connectivity Index for St. Petersburg is more significant than for the Northwestern Federal District in general. The practical value of work consists in the fact that it confirms importance of the European countries as trade partners for subjects of the Northwestern Federal District

On the Issue of Free Movement of Financial Services and Capital in the Eurasian Economic Union

The article examines the macroeconomic indicators of the EAEU countries, used in quantitative methods for assessing financial integration, as well as a number of documents that form the common financial market (CFM) of the EAEU.Aim. To identify the content of the concept of the EAEU CFM, having determined the elements of control of the movement of financial services and capital, to assess the possibilities of its formation, taking into account the achieved integration.Task. To confirm the hypothesis that the insufficiently high existing level of financial integration in the EAEU is the reason why the mechanisms of the EAEU CFM cannot be sufficiently developed.Methods. Correlation analysis, analysis and comparison of texts.Results. Capital mobility is high in Russia and Kyrgyzstan. Converging consumption growth rates is a sign of equalizing financial risks. The countries differ in their exchange rate regimes, two of them maintain a double exchange rate, three have requirements for the repatriation of foreign exchange earnings. Capital flow measures are multidirectional. The CFM assumes the approximation of legislation in the field of financial services. Countries only commit to cross-border supply and consumption abroad for four subsectors, commercial presence is governed by national legislation, and the presence of natural persons is subject to migration regulations. The obligations to liberalize the services market taken to the WTO are not uniform, and the list of exemptions from obligations under the EAEU Treaty is more restrictive than obligations to the WTO. Most of the foreign exchange regulation measures are implemented in accordance with national laws. Investors from member states do not receive national treatment upon establishment.Conclusion. The hypothesis is confirmed. The significance of the work for the theories of financial integration lies in the identification of the forms in which the CFM EAEU exists. The recommendations are intended for use in the work of the Eurasian Economic Commission

Is the Russian Economy a Market Economy?

The purpose of the article is to assess whether Russia is a market economy according to the set of criteria.   In the event that Russia loses the status of a country with a market economy, a statistical hypothesis was tested about a significant difference in the average values of national rates of US anti-dumping duties for market and non-market economies. The status of Russia is analyzed based on EBRD data for 2021–2022, the 2021 report of the WTO Secretariat on the trade policy of the Russian Federation. The claims expressed by the EU and the United States regarding government procurements and localization requirements at meetings of the WTO Committees on Trade in Goods and on Trade-Related Investment measures in 2020–2021 are considered. Anti-dumping duties were estimated based on the US notification of anti-dumping investigations for 10.01.2021–30.06.2021. Methods of mathematical statistics were used, as well as the IBM SPSS statistics system. According to the EBRD, Russia as a “sustainable market economy” is rated at an average of 5.9 points out of 10 possible. A lag in terms of integration was noted. The pricing policy does not cause complaints from the WTO members, however, the policy of government procurements, localization and import substitution of the Russian government does not meet the expectations of the WTO member countries. It was revealed that the exclusion of foreign manufacturers in the widely interpreted “government procurements” is the weakest element among those assessed. The specific obligations of the protocol on Russia’s accession to the WTO (paragraph 99 of the Report of the working group) “to make purchases, if they are not intended for state needs, guided by commercial considerations, without interfering with competition from enterprises of other WTO member countries for participation in such procurements” are violated. The impending loss of market status with the US could increase anti-dumping duties on Russian exports by 287 percentage points. The revealed upward trend in national rates of anti-dumping duties for countries with non-market economies allows us to conclude that the level of discrimination against countries with non-market economies is increasing. The hypothesis that the difference between the average values of the national rates of US anti-dumping duties for market and non-market economies is significant is confirmed
