    Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui hubungan penguasaanmembaca pemahaman dengan kemampuan memahami artikel siswakelas XII SMK Swasta Josua Medan tahun pembelajaran2012/2013. Populasi dalam penelitian ini adalah seluruh siswa kelasXII SMK Swasta Josua Medan Tahun Pembelajaran 2012/2013.Sampel penelitian ini terdiri dari 33 siswa yang diambil denganmenggunakan teknik random.Instrumen yang digunakan untuk pengumpulan data penelitian iniadalah tes pilihan berganda dengan jumlah soal 25 item untukpenguasaan teori membaca pemahaman dan test essay denganjumlah soal 6 item untuk kemampuan memahami artikel. Teknikanalisis data yang digunakan adalah analisis korelasi dari pearsonDari perhitungan korelasi product moment dengan angka kasardiperoleh koefisien korelasi antara X dan Y sebesar 0,724,sedangkan rtabel dengan N = 33 dan taraf signifikansi 5% sebesar0,344. Dengan demikian harga rxy > rtabel (0,724> 0,344). Olehkarena itu, hipotesis penelitian yang mengatakan bahwa terdapathubungan yang signifikansi antara Tes Penguasaan MembacaPemahaman (X) terhadap Kemampuan Memahami Artikel (Y),dapat diterima dan teruji kebenarannya

    Does Individual Performance Affect Entrepreneurial Mobility? Empirical Evidence from the Financial Analysis Market

    Our paper contributes to the studies on the relationship between workers' human capital and their decision to become self-employed as well as their probability to survive as entrepreneurs. Analysis from a panel data set of research analysts in investment banks over 1988-1996 reveals that star analysts are more likely than non-star analysts to become entrepreneurs. Furthermore, we find that ventures started by star analysts have a higher probability of survival than ventures established by non-star analysts. Extending traditional theories of entrepreneurship and labor mobility, our results also suggest that drivers of turnover vary by destination: (a) turnover to entrepreneurship and (b) other turnover. In contrast to turnover to entrepreneurship, star analysts are less likely to move to other firms than non-star analysts.

    Topological Signals of Singularities in Ricci Flow

    We implement methods from computational homology to obtain a topological signal of singularity formation in a selection of geometries evolved numerically by Ricci flow. Our approach, based on persistent homology, produces precise, quantitative measures describing the behavior of an entire collection of data across a discrete sample of times. We analyze the topological signals of geometric criticality obtained numerically from the application of persistent homology to models manifesting singularities under Ricci flow. The results we obtain for these numerical models suggest that the topological signals distinguish global singularity formation (collapse to a round point) from local singularity formation (neckpinch). Finally, we discuss the interpretation and implication of these results and future applications.Comment: 24 pages, 14 figure

    Measurement of the damage of elements in bearing can be by measuring the vibration generated in the form of a frequency signal when the pad is rotating. Measurement of vibration on the bearing by using vibration measuring instrument. Damage to the rolling bearing includes damage to the cage, outer ring, inner ring and balls. The rolling bearings used in this study are deep groove ball bearing type 6003 RS with internal diameter (d) = 17 mm, outer diameter (D) = 35 mm, bearing thickness (B) = 10, number of rolling elements (Nb) = 10 pieces, and the diameter of the rolling element (Bd) = 4.75 mm. In the rotation of the bearing (Fr) = 2003 rpm (33.38 Hz) we found the experimental results of bearings that have been damaged in the outer race at 138 Hz frequency, inner race damage at 196 Hz frequency, (ball) at a frequency of 88.8 Hz and cage damage at a frequency of 13.8 Hz

    Modelling the outburst profile of X-ray powered millisecond pulsars

    The outbursts of low mass X-ray binaries are prolonged relative to those of dwarf nova cataclysmic variables as a consequence of X-ray irradiation of the disc. We show that the time-scale of the decay light curve and its luminosity at a characteristic time are linked to the radius of the accretion disc. Hence a good X-ray light curve permits two independent estimates of the disc radius. In the case of the millisecond pulsars SAX J1808.4-3658 and XTE J0929-314 the agreement between these estimates is very strong. Our analysis allows new determinations of distances and accretion disc radii. Our analysis will allow determination of accretion disc radii for sources in external galaxies, and hence constrain system parameters where other observational techniques are not possible. We also use the X-ray light curves to estimate the mass transfer rate. The broken exponential decay observed in the 2002 outburst of SAX J1808.4-3658 may be caused by the changing self-shadowing of the disc.Comment: To be published in the proceedings of the workshop 'A Decade of Accreting Millisecond X-ray pulsars' (Amsterdam 14-18 April 2008; Eds.
