Introduction: High levels of phosphate in water are caused by wastewater pollution such as laundry waste water causing eutrophication. Adsorption is a method that can be used to reduce phosphate level. Banana stem that contains high levels of cellulose can be used as the main ingredient for making activated carbon. The aims of this study were to analyze the adsorption capacity and adsorption kinetics of banana stem activateld carbon in relducing phosphatel lelvells. Methods: The design of this research was true experiment with a pretest-posttest controlled group. Adsorption process was carried out with batch method that used three variations of adsorbate concentration and four variations of mixing time. Adsorption took place at pH 3 and 30 rpm of mixing time. Adsorption capacity was analyzed using the Langmuir isotherm and Freundlich isotherm models. Adsorption kinetic was analyzed using pseudo-first-order and pseudo-second-order kinetic models. Results and Discussion: The X-Ray Diffraction (XRD) difactogram and Scanning Electron Microscopy (SEM) results prove that the activateld carbon was successfully made. The iodine number of banana stelm activateld carbon was 698.12 mg/g. The results showed that activated carbon from banana stem successfully reduced phosphate levels in water with adsorption capacity 0.10708 mg/g and following the Langmuir isotherm model. The kinetics adsorption of banana stem activated carbon was validated by the pseludo-selcond-ordelr kinetics model with a kinetics constant of 0.17137 g/mg.min. Conclusion: The Langmuir models indicated that adsorption of phosphate occurred in monolayer. Modifications of activated carbon were needed based on characterization results

Abstract: Mental health among teenagers is gaining more attention todays. Schools are encouraged to be able provide monitoring function for this issue. However, Poskestren as school based health effort is still curative physical health oriented. This community service is carried out to initiate school’s capability in managing mental health services at the Al Amin Poskestren and at the same time increase students’ awareness on daily behaviour which could triggering mental health problems. It used the concept of mentoring where the community service team helps partners to be able to independently identify existing mental health problems and determine the most appropriate form of intervention. As the results, in this community service, Poskestren was able to manage mental health independently through the process in every community service. We achieved 100% target in each steps and exceeded 145% on deliver step’s target. The instruments used in mentoring also assist Poskestren in assessing and identifying mental health. Community service has succeeded in formulating the adjustments needed to initiate the mental health management of pesantren-based schools.

Domestic wastewater, such as detergent wastewater, causes the increase of the phosphate level that strongly contributes to eutrophication. Adsorption is a method that can be used to reduce the levels of phosphate. The natural ingredients that can be made as activated carbon include edamame soybean peel, because it contains a lot of celluloses. This research aimed to analyze the adsorption kinetics and adsorption capacity of edamame soybean peel activated carbon in reducing the phosphate levels. Adsorption was carried out with batch method with various concentrations of adsorbate (2 mg/L, 4 mg/L, and 6 mg/L) and stirring time (3 hours, 6 hours, 9 hours, and 12 hours). The results showed that the highest adsorption capacity was found in 6 mg/L of adsorbate concentration and 6 hours of stirring time. The results were validated by the Langmuir isotherm and pseudo-second-order adsorption kinetics model. The Langmuir isotherm indicated that adsorption occurred in monolayer. The maximum adsorption capacity was 0.43509 mg/g and the constant of adsorption kinetics was 1.5558 g/mg•min. Activated carbon from edamame soybean peel successfully reduced the levels of phosphate. The increase of adsorption capacity was correlated with the increasing concentration of adsorbate and stirring time until the equilibrium
