Nucleon mean free path in nuclear matter based on nuclear Schwinger-Dyson formalism

    Get PDF
A mean free path of nucleon moving through nuclear matter with kinetic energy of more than 100MeV is formulated based on the bare vertex nuclear Schwinger-Dyson (BNSD) method in the Walecka model. The self-energy which is derived from the higher order diagrams more than the forth order includes the Feynman part of propagator of energetic nucleon and grows up rapidly as an increase of kinetic energy. To avoid too large growth of these diagrams, meson propagators are modified by introducing some form factors to take account of a internal structure of hadron. It is confirmed that the mean free path calculated by the BNSD method agrees good with experimental data if a reasonable form factor is chosen, i.e., a dipole (quadrupole) type of form factor with a cut-off parameter about 750 MeV \sim 1000 MeV (1200 MeV \sim 1500 MeV)

Phosphoinositide-dependent regulation of VAN3 ARF-GAP localization and activity essential for vascular tissue continuity in plants

ACAP-type ARF GTPase activating proteins (ARF-GAPs) regulate multiple cellular processes, including endocytosis, secretion, phagocytosis, cell adhesion and cell migration. However, the regulation of ACAP functions by other cellular proteins is poorly understood. We have reported previously that a plant ACAP, VAN3, plays a pivotal role in plant venation continuity. Here, we report on newly identified VAN3 regulators: the CVP2 (cotyledon vascular pattern 2) 5 PTase, which is considered to degrade IP3 and also to produce PtdIns(4) P from PtdIns(4,5) P-2; and a PH domain-containing protein, VAB (VAN3 binding protein). Combinational mutations of both CVP2 and its closest homologue CVL1 (CVP2 like 1) phenocopied the strong allele of van3 mutants, showing severe vascular continuity. The phenotype of double mutants between van3, cvp2 and vab suggested that VAN3, CVP2 and VAB function in vascular pattern formation in the same pathway. Localization analysis revealed that both CVP2 and VAB colocalize with VAN3 in the trans-Golgi network (TGN), supporting their functions in the same pathway. The subcellular localization of VAN3 was dependent on its PH domain, and mislocalization of VAN3 was induced in cvp2 or vab mutants. These results suggest that CVP2 and VAB cooperatively regulate the subcellular localization of VAN3 through the interaction between its PH domain and phosphoinositides and/or inositol phosphates. In addition, PtdIns(4) P, to which VAN3 binds preferentially, enhanced the ARF-GAP activity of VAN3, whereas IP3 inhibited it. These results suggest the existence of PtdIns(4) P and/or IP3-dependent subcellular targeting and regulation of VAN3 ACAP activity that governs plant vascular tissue continuity

Vacuum Effects and Compressional Properties of Nuclear Matter in Cutoff Field Theory

Including the vacuum effects, the compressional properties of nuclear matter are studied in the cutoff field theory. Under the Hartree approximation, the low-energy effective Lagrangian is derived in the framework of the renormalization group methods. The coefficients are determined in a way where the physical results hardly depend on the value of the cutoff which is conveniently introduced into the theory. It is shown that, to reproduce the empirical data of the nucleus incompressibility, the compressibility of the nuclear matter is favorable to be 250\sim350MeV.Comment: PACS numbers, 21.65.+

Quark condensate in nuclear matter based on Nuclear Schwinger-Dyson formalism

The effects of higher order corrections of ring diagrams for the quark condensate are studied by using the bare vertex Nuclear Schwinger Dyson formalism based on σ\sigma-ω\omega model. At the high density the quark condensate is reduced by the higher order contribution of ring diagrams more than the mean field theory or the Hartree-Fock

The purpose of this study is to evaluate the results and intraoperative or postoperative complications of primary total hip arthroplasty (THA) using a contemporary tapered wedge titanium femoral component. A total of 213 THAs in 187 patients were followed up more than 5 years (mean, 102 months ; range, 60-150). The mean age at surgery was 64.2 years (range, 20–89 years). These patients were clinically evaluated using the JOA scoring system and radiographically host bone reactions around the implants, as well as femoral loosening. The mean JOA score improved from 49 (range, 21–75) to 92 (range, 59–100). All 12 patients with poor results (JOA < 75) coexisted with cerebral, spinal, joint, and musculoskeletal disorders. At the final follow-up, implant survival was 100%. Complications occurred in 23 hips. They consisted of 12 hips with intra-operative fractures, 2 hips with sciatic nerve palsy, one hip with infections, 3 hips with recurrent dislocations, and 8 hips with aseptic cup loosening. In conclusion, we have shown excellent survival rate of the contemporary tapered wedge stem in primary THA ; however, patients with coexisting diseases could not acquire sufficient improvement in hip function and ambulatory ability

The purpose of this study was to practice the effects of outdoor education in college students who participated in a 4-days nature recreational trekking course. Mountaineering or trekking mountain contains very important activities for understanding the nature. Understanding of the nature in the world can draw the interest in environmental disruption. The mountaineering or trekking activities include of outdoor education programs can help improving the quality of environment and life style by students. It is important to consider carefully our spiritual health, social.health ,and even wellness life style through the mountaineering or trekking activites proguram. The intensity of heart rates in physical exercise is the important index to understand safety mountaineering or trekking activities program. And oxygen saturation is the important index of mountain sickness as hypoxia. In this program we recognize the safety management that uses physiological index heart rates and oxygen saturation for physical stress. The educational effect of outdoor activity in the physical education of liberal arts is to understand natural environment, and also to understand the safe range of physical activity. Although muscular fatigue was observed, the subjective symptoms of acute mountain sickness were not observed. It is concluded that measurements of physiological parameters during mountain climbing is useful for risk management in outdoor education

    Pyrogallol inhibits NFAT signal

As the expression level of allergic disease sensitive genes are correlated with the severity of allergic symptoms, suppression of these gene expressions could be promising therapeutics. We demonstrated that protein kinase Cδ / heat shock protein 90-mediated H1R gene expression signaling and nuclear factor of activated T-cells (NFAT)-mediated IL-9 gene expression signaling are responsible for the pathogenesis of pollinosis. Treatment with Awa-tea combined with wild grape hot water extract suppressed these signaling and alleviated nasal symptoms in toluene-2,4-diisocyanate (TDI)-sensitized rats. However, the underlying mechanism of its anti-allergic activity is not elucidated yet. Here, we sought to identify an anti-allergic compound from Awa-tea and pyrogallol was identified as an active compound. Pyrogallol strongly suppressed ionomycin-induced up-regulation of IL-9 gene expression in RBL-2H3 cells. Treatment with pyrogallol in combination with epinastine alleviated nasal symptoms and suppressed up-regulation of IL-9 gene expression in TDI-sensitized rats. Pyrogallol itself did not inhibit calcineurin phosphatase activity. However, pyrogallol suppressed ionomycin-induced dephosphorylation and nuclear translocation of NFAT. These data suggest pyrogallol is an anti-allergic compound in Awa-tea and it suppressed NFAT-mediated IL-9 gene expression through the inhibition of dephosphorylation of NFAT. This might be the underlying mechanism of the therapeutic effects of combined therapy of pyrogallol with antihistamine
