Effect of static load models on hopf bifurcation point and critical modes of power systems

    Get PDF
This paper presents the effect of different static load models on Hopf bifurcation point and critical eigenvalues of power systems. Three most commonly used static load models are investigated thoroughly under various operating conditions and with different power system controllers. Some interesting new observations hase emerged in the damping ratio of the critical mode, especially when power system controllers are introduced for control, in the system to control Hopfbifurcations. These observations would be useful in controller design for Hopf bifurcation or oscillation control

A probabilistic approach to some results by Nieto and Truax

In this paper, we reconsider some results by Nieto and Truax about generating functions for arbitrary order coherent and squeezed states. These results were obtained using the exponential of the Laplacian operator; more elaborated operational identities were used by Dattoli et al. \cite{Dattoli} to extend these results. In this note, we show that the operational approach can be replaced by a purely probabilistic approach, in the sense that the exponential of derivatives operators can be identified with equivalent expectation operators. This approach brings new insight about the kinks between operational and probabilistic calculus.Comment: 2nd versio

Blockchain Technology in Bangladesh’s FMCG Sector: A Review

    Get PDF
The effectiveness of a company's supply chain is influenced by responsiveness, flexibility, quality, cost, and managerial support. However, businesses that run manually are unable to maintain an effective supply chain process due to fraud, subpar quality, longer lead times, a lack of flexibility, a lack of response, monitoring problems, and a lack of coordination among members. These difficulties can be solved using blockchain, which will improve consumer views. Bangladesh has a huge market for fast-moving consumer products, and that market is expanding quickly. By delivering real-time data, reducing operational expenses, addressing the tracking issue, assuring secure transactions, enhancing communication, and increasing flexibility, the adoption of blockchain can change how these businesses work in their supply chains. Despite the enormous interest, there is currently very little research on blockchain adoption in the context of emerging economy countries. That’s why the current study highlights blockchain adoption in Bangladesh’s FMCG context. Keywords: Supply chain performance, blockchain technology, FMCG sector, Bangladesh. Cryogenic platform for coupling color centers in diamond membranes to a fiber-based microcavity

    Get PDF
We operate a fiber-based cavity with an inserted diamond membrane containing ensembles of silicon vacancy centers (SiV^{-}) at cryogenic temperatures ≥4 K. The setup, sample fabrication and spectroscopic characterization are described, together with a demonstration of the cavity influence by the Purcell effect. This paves the way towards solid-state qubits coupled to optical interfaces as long-lived quantum memories

GLONASS CDMA L3 ambiguity resolution and positioning

    Get PDF
A first assessment of GLONASS CDMA L3 ambiguity resolution and positioning performance is provided. Our analyses are based on GLONASS L3 data from the satellite pair SVNs 755-801, received by two JAVAD receivers at Curtin University, Perth, Australia. In our analyses, four different versions of the two-satellite model are applied: the geometry-free model, the geometry-based model , the height-constrained geometry-based model, and the geometry-fixed model. We study the noise characteristics (carrier-to-noise density, measurement precision), the integer ambiguity resolution performance (success rates and distribution of the ambiguity residuals), and the positioning performance (ambiguity float and ambiguity fixed). The results show that our empirical outcomes are consistent with their formal counterparts and that the GLONASS data have a lower noise level than that of GPS, particularly in case of the code data. This difference is not only seen in the noise levels but also in their onward propagation to the ambiguity time series and ambiguity residuals distribution

On the creation of near-surface nitrogen-vacancy centre ensembles by implantation of type Ib diamond

Dense, near-surface (within 10 nm) ensembles of nitrogen-vacancy (NV) centres in diamond are rapidly moving into prominence as the workhorse of a variety of envisaged applications, ranging from the imaging of fast-fluctuating magnetic signals to the facilitation of nuclear hyperpolarisation. Unlike their bulk counterparts, near-surface ensembles suffer from charge stability issues and reduced NV formation efficiency due to the diamond surface's role as a vacancy sink during annealing and an electron sink afterwards. To this end, work is ongoing to determine the best methods for producing high-quality ensembles in this regime. Here we examine the prospects for creating such ensembles cost-effectively by implanting nitrogen-rich type Ib diamond with electron donors, aiming to exploit the high bulk nitrogen density to combat surface-induced band bending in the process. This approach has previously been successful at creating deeper ensembles, however we find that in the near-surface regime there are fewer benefits over nitrogen implantation into pure diamond substrates. Our results suggest that control over diamond surface termination during annealing is key to successfully creating high-yield near-surface NV ensembles generally, and implantation into type Ib diamond may be worth revisiting once that has been accomplished.Comment: 7 pages, 3 figure
