A Note on String Field Theory in the Temporal Gauge

Refined topological amplitudes in N=1 flux compactification
We study the implication of refined topological string amplitudes in the
supersymmetric N=1 flux compactification. They generate higher derivative
couplings among the vector multiplets and graviphoton with generically
non-holomorphic moduli dependence. For a particular term, we can compute them
by assuming the geometric engineering. We claim that the Dijkgraaf-Vafa large N
matrix model with the beta-ensemble measure directly computes the higher
derivative corrections to the supersymmetric effective action of the
supersymmetric N=1$ gauge theory.Comment: 16 pages, v2: reference adde
Functional characteristics of the calcium modulated proteins seen from an evolutionary perspective
We have constructed dendrograms relating 173 EF-hand proteins of known amino acid sequence. We aligned all of these proteins by their EF-hand domains, omitting interdomain regions. Initial dendrograms were computed by minimum mutation distance methods. Using these as starting points, we determined the best dendrogram by the method of maximum parsimony, scored by minimum mutation distance. We identified 14 distinct subfamilies as well as 6 unique proteins that are perhaps the sole representatives of other subfamilies. This information is given in tabular form. Within subfamilies one can easily align interdomain regions. The resulting dendrograms are very similar to those computed using domains only. Dendrograms constructed using pairs of domains show general congruence. However, there are enough exceptions to caution against an overly simple scheme in which one pair of gene duplications leads from one domain precurser to a four domain prototype from which all other forms evolved. The ability to bind calcium was lost and acquired several times during evolution. The distribution of introns does not conform to the dendrogram based on amino acid sequences. The rates of evolution appear to be much slower within subfamilies, especially within calmodulin, than those prior to the definition of subfamily
Lowest weight representations of super Schrodinger algebras in low dimensional spacetime
We investigate the lowest weight representations of the super Schrodinger
algebras introduced by Duval and Horvathy. This is done by the same procedure
as the semisimple Lie algebras. Namely, all singular vectors within the Verma
modules are constructed explicitly then irreducibility of the associated
quotient modules is studied again by the use of singular vectors. We present
the classification of irreducible Verma modules for the super Schrodinger
algebras in (1+1) and (2+1) dimensional spacetime with N = 1, 2 extensions.Comment: 10pages, talk given at GROUP28 conference New Castle 26-30th July

Algebraic varieties with automorphism groups of maximal rank
We confirm, to some extent, the belief that a projective variety X has the
largest number (relative to the dimension of X) of independent commuting
automorphisms of positive entropy only when X is birational to a complex torus
or a quotient of a torus. We also include an addendum to an early paper though

Relation between the 4d superconformal index and the S^3 partition function
A relation between the 4d superconformal index and the S^3 partition function
is studied with focus on the 4d and 3d actions used in localization. In the
case of vanishing Chern-Simons levels and round S^3 we explicitly show that the
3d action is obtained from the 4d action by dimensional reduction up to terms
which do not affect the exact results. By combining this fact and a recent
proposal concerning a squashing of S^3 and SU(2) Wilson line, we obtain a
formula which gives the partition function depending on the Weyl weight of
chiral multiplets, real mass parameters, FI parameters, and a squashing

Forbidden Landscape from Holography
We present a class of field configurations that are forbidden in the quantum
gravity because of inconsistency in the dual field theory from holography.
Scale invariant but non-conformal field theories are impossible in (1+1)
dimension, and so should be the corresponding gravity dual. In particular, the
"spontaneous Lorentz symmetry breaking" models and the "ghost condensation"
models, which are well-studied in phenomenology literatures, are forbidden in
any consistent quantum theories of gravity in (1+2) dimension since they

Possibility of Macroscopic resonant Tunneling near the Superconductor- Insulator Transition in YBaCuO Thin Films
Experimental results of I-V characteristics near the superconductor-insulator
transition observed for disorder-tuned YBaCuO thinfilms are presented. The I-V
characteristics exibit new quasiperiodic structures as a function of the
current. The current interval, the number of the dI/dV peaks, and the magnetic
field dependence of the peaks are consistent with the theoretical predictions
of the resonant tunneling of a phase particle ina tilted-cosine potential for

Antiferromagnetic Exchange Interaction between Electrons on Degenerate LUMOs in Benzene Dianion
We discuss the ground state of Benzene dianion (Bz) on the basis of
the numerical diagonalization method of an effective model of orbitals.
It is found that the ground state can be the spin singlet state, and the
