    Idiopathic Fascicular Ventricular Tachycardia

    Get PDF
Idiopathic fascicular ventricular tachycardia is an important cardiac arrhythmia with specific electrocardiographic features and therapeutic options. It is characterized by relatively narrow QRS complex and right bundle branch block pattern. The QRS axis depends on which fascicle is involved in the re-entry. Left axis deviation is noted with left posterior fascicular tachycardia and right axis deviation with left anterior fascicular tachycardia. A left septal fascicular tachycardia with normal axis has also been described. Fascicular tachycardia is usually seen in individuals without structural heart disease. Response to verapamil is an important feature of fascicular tachycardia. Rare instances of termination with intravenous adenosine have also been noted. A presystolic or diastolic potential preceding the QRS, presumed to originate from the Purkinje fibers can be recorded during sinus rhythm and ventricular tachycardia in many patients with fascicular tachycardia. This potential (P potential) has been used as a guide to catheter ablation. Prompt recognition of fascicular tachycardia especially in the emergency department is very important. It is one of the eminently ablatable ventricular tachycardias. Primary ablation has been reported to have a higher success, lesser procedure time and fluoroscopy time

Low Power Reversible Parallel Binary Adder/Subtractor

In recent years, Reversible Logic is becoming more and more prominent technology having its applications in Low Power CMOS, Quantum Computing, Nanotechnology, and Optical Computing. Reversibility plays an important role when energy efficient computations are considered. In this paper, Reversible eight-bit Parallel Binary Adder/Subtractor with Design I, Design II and Design III are proposed. In all the three design approaches, the full Adder and Subtractors are realized in a single unit as compared to only full Subtractor in the existing design. The performance analysis is verified using number reversible gates, Garbage input/outputs and Quantum Cost. It is observed that Reversible eight-bit Parallel Binary Adder/Subtractor with Design III is efficient compared to Design I, Design II and existing design.Comment: 12 pages,VLSICS Journa

UNDERGROUND WIRELESS COMMUNICATION CHANNEL MODELING AND SIMULATION USING 0.3GMSK MODULATION CONSIDERING PENETRATION AND SCATTERING LOSS

    Get PDF
Wireless communication inside mines and tunnels is very different from that in terrestrial environment because of the strong attenuation of signals. Here, we are developing an empirical model for the underground wireless communication channel based on experimental data which help in predicting the average received signal strength at a given distance from transmitter. The model aims at adding correction factors to the available outdoor and indoor propagation models such as Okumara-hata model, cost231 model, ITU indoor propagation models etc. Modeling is done by choosing the most appropriate model among the available ones and performing regression methods to the model based on experimental data. Correction factors are then added based on two parameters which we are considering namely- Penetration and Scattering loss for 0.3GMSK

The Galvanized iron (GI) cage frames have been designed and fabricated by CMFRI as a cost-effective alternative for high density polyethylene (HDPE) cage frames. By this the cost has been reduced to one third or even less with high durability and life span with regular maintenance. Dismantling and reassembling type cages have been proved successful in open water aquaculture at Cochin

Analysis of Tertiary Control for PV based Microgrid System

    Get PDF
With the rising demand in electricity, increasing fuel cost, global climatic changes and concern on greenhouse gas emission the use of renewable energy resources is becoming a necessity. Microgrid is a systematic integration of various Distributed Energy Resources (DERs) and connected loads to operate as single entity which can either be connected to the grid or can operate as a separate independent island. Power electronic converters are employed to provide flexibility for the integration of various distributed energy sources in the grid. Microgrid draws power from utility grid or supplies to the grid depending upon load demand and generationin grid connected mode. In case of power interruption or load shedding microgrid can be switchedto island mode of operation. One of the important issues of microgrid is to achieve the bump less transition between the grid and islanded mode of operation. In this paper Photo voltaic (PV) sources based microgrid system has been considered and a coordinated control scheme for the control of a microgrid system is implemented in Matlab / Simulink environment. This paper investigates the bump less transition between the grid and islanded mode of operation with reduced harmonic distortion and frequency variation

ANTIOXDATIVE ACTIVITIES OF WILD MACRO FUNGI GANODERMA APPLANATUM (PERS.) PAT.

    Get PDF
The present research work was under taken to evaluate antioxidant activity and quantitative determination of phytoconstituents of various solvent extracts of wild macro fungi Ganoderma applanatum (Pers.) Pat. using in vitro models. The total phenolic content was estimated using Folin-Ciocalteu method and total flavonoid content was determined using aluminum chloride. In vitro antioxidant activity of solvent extracts were studied in different systems including DPPH scavenging assay, reducing power assay, metal chelating activity, superoxide radical assay and hydrogen peroxide activity along with standard. The results revealed that, the total phenolics and flavonoids were high and extracts showed good antioxidant capacity in DPPH radical scavenging assay compared to other in vitro models. The methanol extract can be considered as a valuable source of antioxidant products as the obtained values are more or less near to the used standard compounds. The present study concludes that methanolic extract of study species is effective in scavenging free radicals and has the potential to be powerful antioxidant. This potent antioxidant activity may be attributed to its high phenolic and flavonoid content. Keywords: Antioxidant activity, Ganoderma applanatum, Radical scavenging, Phenolics, flavonoids
