EEG pattern for stress condition during listening rock music and binaural beat sound
Music has a great effect on human brain and brainwaves. It is already proven
that listening to music such as binaural beat sound and rock music increases
the beta band power that is associated to increase the stress condition during
listening. This research were conducted to determine the EEG pattern for
stress condition during listening binaural beat sound and rock music. The
research were conducted due to there is no previous research that conduct
an experiment related binaural beat during listening. The previous researcher
only focus on the effect of binaural beat after the listening. Experiment were
conducted on 5 subjects which are 3 female and 2 male and the data of
brainwaves of the samples were collected. The data collected were focused
only on Alpha band and Beta band which only exist when someone are in
awake state. The data were collected by using Emotiv Insight 5-Channel EEG
Mobile set which consist of the Emotiv Insight headset, the Universal USB
Receiver and the Emotiv Pure EEG software. The data were in power spectral
density (PSD) form and it were analyzed by using SPSS software. In SPSS
software, the data were analyzed to find the mean, standard deviation and the
distribution. From the analysis and discussion, the hypothesis of this research
are proven as the beta band are increasing and higher than alpha band. As for
the recommendation, the next researcher could increase the number of subject
for experimental and the songs also recommended to be divided based on
subject song preferences
Electroencephalogram (EEG) pattern for human smoke habit
The brain is most important part of the human body. Smoking cigarettes is a
bad habit, however the total numbers of smokers continue developing. Most
smokers give 'to release stress and bored' as a purpose behind smoking. Under
this circumstance, the interested of brain condition for smoke affinity are
useful for varies biomedical field. The essential motivation behind this
research is to investigate the Electroencephalogram (EEG) pattern for smoker
using sub-band of theta, alpha and beta groups focus on Power Spectral
Density (PSD). EMOTIV Pure•EEG™, SPSS and Excel is used as the
software while Emotiv Insight is used as the hardware in this research. 5
smokers and 5 non-smokers were tested for this exploration. EEG data was
recorded for 5 minutes. Results demonstrated that smokers have lesser theta
band which shows a less stressed on feeling as contrasted with non-smokers
with a higher theta band. Smokers additionally higher alpha band which
shows that they are more casual contrasted with non-smokers with lower
alpha band. In any case, smokers are lower beta band that shows they are lesscognizant contrasted with non-smokers. Recently, electronic cigarettes (ecigarette) have been proposed as a successful instrument for smoking
restraint
EEG pattern of human calmness during listening to Al-Quran recitation and soft instrumental music
Emotions is a really importance and powerful in human life this is because it can
affect the brain which is the most importance organ in human organic system.
Good emotion will gives a good effect towards the brain and human while the bad
emotion will be vice versa from the good emotion. This is the reasons why emotion
needs to manage wisely. Calmness is the one thing that people always seek off
after having a hard time or stress. Music has a great effect towards human mind
and body. It has proven that listening to music increase the alpha wave level
associated to the increase of relaxation. Music is one of therapy that beneficial the
people who experiencing depression, stress or anxiety. This research used alQuran recitation of Surah al-Shua’ara and soft instrumental music as the material
to simulate the brain to generate the calmness. There are 10 subject were recorded
the EEG signal during listening to al-Quran recitation and soft instrumental music
by using Emotiv Insight equipment. The raw data of EEG will undergo analysing
process by using SPSS software to test the accurately of the data. The objective of
this research is to compare the calmness between the Al-Quran recitation and soft
instrumental music. As the result, it is found that most of the subjects were calm
during listening to al-Quran recitation compared to the soft instrumental music,
but still the soft instrumental music gives calmness towards the listener this is
because alpha wave level is low during listening to them compared to beta wave
level. In conclusion, al-Quran recitation gives calmness towards the listener
compared to the soft instrumental music
INTEGRATION OF POKA YOKE INTO PROCESS FAILURE MODE AND EFFECT ANALYSIS: A CASE STUDY
The Failure Mode and Effect Analysis (FMEA) is a one of the requirements which was required by the
Automotive Industries Action Group (AIAG) to all the automotive suppliers and manufacturers worldwide
through the TS16949 Quality System. There were a lot of dicrepencies detected on implementing the
FMEA which directly related to the user experinces and knowledge. The descrepencies cause the FMEA not
meeting the objectives of it. Conceptually, Poka Yoke is able to fit into the Process FMEA. Failure Mode
and Effect Analysis (FMEA) helps predict and prevent problems through proper control or detection
methods. Mistake proofing emphasizes detection and correction of mistakes before they become defects.
Poka Yoke helps people and processes work correctly the first time. It refers to techniques that make
mistakes impossible to commit. These techniques eliminate defects from products and processes as well as
substantially improve their quality and reliability. Poka Yoke can be considered an extension of FMEA. The
use of simple Poka Yoke ideas and methods in product and process design eliminates both human and
mechanical errors. Ultimately, both FMEA and Poka Yoke methodologies result in zero defects and benefit
either the end or the next-in-line customer. The first concept of Poka Yoke emphasizes elimination of the
cause or occurrence of the error that creates the defects by concentrating on the cause of the error in the
process. The defect is prevented by stopping the line or the machine when the root cause of the defect is
triggered or detected. The second concept of Poka Yoke focuses on the effectiveness of the detection
system. The foolproof detection system eliminates the defect or detects the error that causes defects. The
implementation of the Poka Yoke concept in a foolproof detection system eliminates the possibility that
error or defects will slip through the process and reach the customer
Developing Lean – EMS Integration Database for Sustaining ISO 14000 Certification
This paper highlights a methodology to implement Lean-EMS integration system in the case study company. Lean manufacturing is a concept widely applied in industries to eliminate wastes and achieve high business efficiency. The concept implemented through five principles which is called a self-sustaining cycle. EMS on the other side is an international standard for environmental management. It guides organizations through compliance requirements to reduce environmental impacts from business activities and boost up operating efficiency. Researches on EMS implementation have revealed that the system has similarity with Lean Principles. Hence, researchers had integrated both systems to attain both lean and EMS goals. This integration required a management system for continuous improvement. This paper focuses on design, and development of database system to manage the integration of Lean Principles and Environmental Management System (EMS) to aid employees in problem solving through visual indicators for continuous improvement and sustain the certification. The methodology adapted for the study is using the database development steps with Microsoft Access 2010 software. The database which is comprised of five performance measures (each reflects a lean principle and selected EMS clause) from integration framework specially designed and developed for the case study company. The results of the study validated the use of developed database system for continuous improvement. The study is indeed very useful to the company because the developed system is a comprehensive tool, where it can visualize problems in operations that might affect the production flow and EMS compliance. As the problem visualized, immediate problem solving can be done to continuously improve the conditions and sustain EMS certification
