    During late - and post-glacial times lakes played a leading role in the development of the landscape of the North-west European part of USSR. A variety of geographic circumstances created great variegation of natural conditions in lakes and determined the composition of their diatoms. The basic stages of the development of the diatom flora of lakes are linked with general climatic changes. The deepwater regions of large periglacial lakes of the North-west USSR are inhabited by plankton diatoms of the genera Melosira and Cyclotella. Diatom analysis is further applied for the study of the history of the lakes of north-west USSR

    The article investigates the word formation system of modern English. The authors of the article are trying to identify new, modern trends of word formation that have been tracing for the last decades. In addition, an attempt is made to differentiate theoretical material, which is to be introduced more actively into training programs for the development of foreign language competence. The basic criteria of a compound word have been determined and the degree of word formation importance in the English vocabulary replenishment has been identified. A thorough analysis of contemporary research and publications conducted by the authors of the article shows that the issue of semantic analysis of compound words and their transformations is still being explored by foreign and domestic scientists, which indicates the relevance of the chosen topic.Key words: semantic analysis, word formation, compound words, transformations, derived words, morphology, language competence.

    Relevance. Modern society has global transformations; as a result, the level characteristics of its system development are changing, new opportunities and new situations to implement a self-organizing system to solve problems of self-government appear. Thus, there is the need to organize the multiplicity of interactions in the new environment, including education. The success of the development mechanisms, organizing innovative activities in the educational systems of different levels is largely determined by the active development of interaction network forms and interaction effective management. The article is devoted to development of theoretical ideas about the processes of network interaction in education to justify and describe the principles of modern scientific-educational network on the basis of system-synergetic approach. A leading approach to study this problem can be considered as system-synergetic which allows studying network interaction within the scientific and educational network as a holistic entity consisting of interrelated elements, structured and complex. The results of the study showed that described principles of effective networking and the conditions of scientific and educational networks development allow you to combine and re-combine the accumulated actors of this knowledge and practical experience interaction, turning them into the means of its innovative activities.     Relations between Azerbaijan Democratic Republic and France: on Problem of Recognition of ADR Independence at Paris Peace Conference of 1919-1920

    The subject of the article is the relations between Azerbaijan Democratic Republic (ADR) and France during the Paris Peace Conference of 1919-1920. The author reveals the key events of the ADR foreign policy (1918-1920), the first state in the Muslim world with a Republican form of government, and France, which plays a leading role in the world order after the First world war. The methodological basis of the study is a historical and genetic method, which allows to trace the causation and patterns of development of foreign policy of ADR and France in the context of recognition of ADR independence at the Paris Peace Conference. The scientific novelty of the research is to attract new sources not previously introduced into scientific circulation. A special place is occupied by the documents of the head of delegation of ADR at the Paris Peace Conference Ali Mardan Bey Topchibashev, published in 2016 in the collection of documents “Paris archive.” Issues of the French foreign policy Bulletin “Correspondence d’Orient” for 1918, 1919, 1920 are also involved. In Russian science, the topic is practically undisclosed. The study concluded that ADR was able to keep its independence only with the support of Western countries, including France. However, the categorical position of the French government in relation to the ADR contributed to the rapid fall of the newly formed Republic in the East

    The article is devoted to the key events of the foreign policy of the Azerbaijani Democratic Republic (1918-1920), the first state in the Muslim world with a republican form of government, and Great Britain, which initially pursued an occupation policy, and later promoted the de facto recognition of the newly formed state at the Paris Peace Conference. Also, the Republic of Azerbaijan viewed Great Britain as a Mandatory Power and sought to coordinate its foreign policy with it. The research is based on new sources previously not introduced into scientific circulation. A special place here is occupied by the documents of the head of the Azerbaijani delegation at the Paris Peace Conference, Alimardan Topchibashev, published in 2016 in the collection of documents The Paris Archives. The history of the first Azerbaijan Democratic Republic is represented, mainly, in the works of Azerbaijani researchers, among which Jamil Hasanli and Sevinj Yusifzadeh are widely known.
