    Developing the Job Description for Diabetes Nurse Specialists: A Modified Delphi Approach

    Background: The first step to establish a new academicmajor is the need assessment and extraction of professional and specialized tasks. Objectives: The current study aimed to identify and describe the duties of diabetes nurse specialists. Methods: This needs assessment study was performed using modified Delphi technique in Isfahan in 2014 - 2015. The study population consisted of patients with diabetes and their families, nurses, endocrinologists, diabetologists and nursing faculty members. The study was conducted in three rounds: first, through qualitative interviews and focus group discussions, the duties and tasks of diabetes nurse specialists were extracted, then a questionnaire was designed and in two consecutive rounds, the experts expressed their opinions about the tasks. Results: The first round of modified Delphi technique resulted in 500 initial codes. According to these codes, 164 duties were classified into seven categories. In the second round of Delphi approach, the experts reached to 100% consensus in 126 tasks. According to the participants, 74 of the 126 duties were similar, overlapping and inappropriate, and thus were eliminated. In the last round of the study according to the opinions of the experts, 15 more tasks were added to the previous list. Finally, job description for diabetes nurse specialist was developed in six tasks on professional responsibilities, 17 tasks on the area of education, 25 tasks regarding caring and treatment, 6 tasks on society and 13 tasks on management. Conclusions: This study led to identification and classification of diabetes nurse specialist duties. The findings can help nursing faculties and other institutes to develop task based educational programs for nurses in diabetes management

    Dobutamine stress echocardiography in a patient with Wolff-Parkinson-White syndrome

    We describe the case of a patient with ventricular pre-excitation who underwent dobutamine stress echocardiography to evaluate atypical chest pain. The patient safely underwent the procedure with interesting electrocardiographic findings during pharmacological stress. The risks of dobutamine stress testing, along with possible explanations of this observed event, are discussed. In conclusion, the safety of dobutamine stress testing in patients with ventricular pre-excitation has not been established; further prospective studies are needed to decide whether dobutamine stress testing is safe in certain subsets of this population.     Neutron Scattering Study of URu2x_{2-x}Rex_xSi2_2 with xx = 0.10: Driving Order towards Quantum Criticality

    We report inelastic neutron scattering measurements in the hidden order state of URu2x_{2-x}Rex_xSi2_2 with xx = 0.10. We observe that towards the ferromagnetic quantum critical point induced by the negative chemical pressure of Re-doping, the gapped incommensurate fluctuations are robust and comparable in intensity to the parent material. As the Re doping moves the system toward the quantum critical point, the commensurate spin fluctuations related to hidden order weaken, display a shortened lifetime and slow down. Halfway to the quantum critical point, the hidden order phase survives, albeit weakened, in contrast to its destruction by hydrostatic pressure and by positive chemical pressure from Rh-doping.Comment: 5 pages, 6 figures, 24 reference

    NMR evidence for Friedel-like oscillations in the CuO chains of ortho-II YBa2_2Cu3_3O6.5_{6.5}

    Nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR) measurements of CuO chains of detwinned Ortho-II YBa2_2Cu3_3O6.5_{6.5} (YBCO6.5) single crystals reveal unusual and remarkable properties. The chain Cu resonance broadens significantly, but gradually, on cooling from room temperature. The lineshape and its temperature dependence are substantially different from that of a conventional spin/charge density wave (S/CDW) phase transition. Instead, the line broadening is attributed to small amplitude static spin and charge density oscillations with spatially varying amplitudes connected with the ends of the finite length chains.     Universal magnetic and structural behaviors in the iron arsenides

    Commonalities among the order parameters of the ubiquitous antiferromagnetism present in the parent compounds of the iron arsenide high temperature superconductors are explored. Additionally, comparison is made between the well established two-dimensional Heisenberg-Ising magnet, K2_2NiF4_4 and iron arsenide systems residing at a critical point whose structural and magnetic phase transitions coincide. In particular, analysis is presented regarding two distinct classes of phase transition behavior reflected in the development of antiferromagnetic and structural order in the three main classes of iron arsenide superconductors. Two distinct universality classes are mirrored in their magnetic phase transitions which empirically are determined by the proximity of the coupled structural and magnetic phase transitions in these materials.Comment: 6 pages, 4 figure

    Quantum Spin Excitations through the metal-to-insulator crossover in YBa2Cu3O6+yY Ba_2 Cu_3 O_{6+y}

    We use inelastic neutron scattering to study the temperature dependence of the spin excitations of a detwinned superconducting YBa2_2Cu3_3O6.45_{6.45} (Tc=48T_c=48 K). In contrast to earlier work on YBa2_2Cu3_3O6.5_{6.5} (Tc=58T_c=58 K), where the prominent features in the magnetic spectra consist of a sharp collective magnetic excitation termed ``resonance'' and a large (ω15\hbar\omega\approx 15 meV) superconducting spin gap, we find that the spin excitations in YBa2_2Cu3_3O6.45_{6.45} are gapless and have a much broader resonance. Our detailed mapping of magnetic scattering along the aa^\ast/bb^\ast-axis directions at different energies reveals that spin excitations are unisotropic and consistent with the ``hourglass''-like dispersion along the aa^\ast-axis direction near the resonance, but they are isotropic at lower energies. Since a fundamental change in the low-temperature normal state of YBa2_2Cu3_3O6+y_{6+y} when superconductivity is suppressed takes place at y0.5y\sim0.5 with a metal-to-insulator crossover (MIC), where the ground state transforms from a metallic to an insulating-like phase, our results suggest a clear connection between the large change in spin excitations and the MIC. The resonance therefore is a fundamental feature of metallic ground state superconductors and a consequence of high-TcT_c superconductivity.Comment: 9 pages, 7 figures, accepted by Phys. Rev.

    The aim of this research is to analyze marketing channel, marketing institution, marketing function, marketing margin, marketing cost, marketing profit, corn farmer's share, marketing efficiency of maize in various channel in Kalampangan village. The results showed that: (1) marketing of corn in Kalampangan village there are two kinds of channels, where channel I involves four institutions namely: farmers, merchants village, retailers, and consumers. While channel II involves two institutions only, namely, farmers as traders and consumers. Maize's marketing functions are: sales function, purchasing function, storage function, transport function and facility function. (2) From calcution result at Marketing Channel I, total marketing margin of maize in Kalampangan Villge is Rp. 3.860,-/kg, total cost of corn marketing is Rp. 310,-/kg, total profit of corn marketing is Rp. 3.550,-/kg and the result obtained by corn farmer are 58,04%. From calculating result at Marketing Channel II, total margin of maize in Kalampangan Village is Rp. 2.160,-/kg, total cost of corn marketing is Rp. 310,-/kg, total profit of corn marketing is Rp. 1.850,-/kg and the result obtained by corn farmer are 71,20%. (3) marketing efficiency at Marketing Channel I equal to 41.96%, and on Marketing Channel II is 28,80%. Marketing efficiency value in Channel I is lower than marketing efficiency II, it is considered more efficient marketing Channel II

    Magnetic structure of the antiferromagnetic half-Heusler compound NdBiPt

    We present results of single crystal neutron diffraction experiments on the rare-earth, half-Heusler antiferromagnet (AFM) NdBiPt. This compound exhibits an AFM phase transition at TN=2.18T_{\mathrm N}=2.18~K with an ordered moment of 1.78(9)1.78(9)~μB\mu_{\mathrm B} per Nd atom. The magnetic moments are aligned along the [001][001]-direction, arranged in a type-I AFM structure with ferromagnetic planes, alternating antiferromagnetically along a propagation vector τ\tau of (100)(100). The RRBiPt (RR= Ce-Lu) family of materials has been proposed as candidates of a new family of antiferromagnetic topological insulators (AFTI) with magnetic space group that corresponds to a type-II AFM structure where ferromagnetic sheets are stacked along the space diagonal. The resolved structure makes it unlikely, that NdBiPt qualifies as an AFTI.Comment: As resubmitted to PRB, corrected typos and changed symbols in Fig.

    Antiferromagnetic Critical Fluctuations in BaFe2_2As2_2

    Magnetic correlations near the magneto-structural phase transition in the bilayer iron pnictide parent compound, BaFe2_2As2_2, are measured. In close proximity to the antiferromagnetic phase transition in BaFe2_2As2_2, a crossover to three dimensional critical behavior is anticipated and has been preliminarily observed. Here we report complementary measurements of two-dimensional magnetic fluctuations over a broad temperature range about TN_N. The potential role of two-dimensional critical fluctuations in the magnetic phase behavior of BaFe2_2As2_2 and their evolution near the anticipated crossover to three dimensional critical behavior and long-range order are discussed.Comment: 6 pages, 4 figures; Accepted for publication in Physical Review
