MOCK-UP TEST OF REMOTE CONTROLLED DISMANTLING APPARATUS FOR LARGE-SIZED VESSELS

ABSTRACT The remote dismantling apparatus, which is equipped with multi-units for functioning of washing, cutting, collection of cut pieces and so on, has been constructed to dismantle the large-sized vessels in the JAERI's Reprocessing Test Facility (JRTF). The apparatus has five-axis movement capability and its operation is performed remotely. The mock-up tests were performed to evaluate the applicability of the apparatus to actual dismantling activities by using the mock-ups of LV-3 and LV-5 in the facility. It was confirmed that each unit was satisfactory functioned by remote operation. Efficient procedure for dismantling the large-sized vessel was studied and various data were obtained from the mock-up tests. This apparatus was found to be applicable for the actual dismantling activity in JRTF

Reconsideration of the Learning Process in Singing (2) : Development of Lessons Referring to Singing Dialogues in Bhutan <Article>

本論は，人が生涯にわたり音楽文化とかかわっていく土台を築くため，ブータン歌謡ツァンモの調査から得られた成果を参照しながら，音楽科の新しい方向性を見出すことを目的とした一連の研究に位置づくものである。本年度は，ラジオ放送や学校行事等，現在のツァンモのありように焦点をあて，自分なりの思いを歌で表現する意義を問い直した。とりわけ，歌の含意を共有し，なじみのある詩形や旋律を用いて，掛け合い歌による双方向のコミュニケーションを通して，自分の思いを歌で自在に伝える活動から手がかりを得て，小学校の音楽科授業における実践開発を試みた。To establish a foundation for people to remain involved in musical culture throughout their lives, we sought to find new directions for music lessons at school, referring to the results of a field survey of the Bhutanese tsangmo singing dialogue. In this study, we focused on the present state of tsangmo in radio broadcasting and school events. After referring to Bhutanese singing culture, we applied its dialogue style in music lessons for the lower grades in primary schools. By sharing the meaning and using familiar forms of the song text and melody, children were able to communicate with each other and showed the capacity to develop new learning processes in the playful singing dialogues. This approach may offer us a key to reconsidering the free expression of one's feelings through singing.本研究は，JSPS科研費26301043の助成を受けたものである

A Report on Overseas Teaching Practicum by Graduate Students in Elementary/Secondary Schools in the United States (Ⅶ)

The present reports is on the 7th overseas teaching practicum in the United States by 15 graduate students of Hiroshima University, Japan, partly organized by Hiroshima University Global Partnership School Center since 2007. The group was comprised of 13 elementary school and 2 secondary school education major graduate students. They planned and conducted lessons in English in three local public schools in North Carolina. The expected outcomes of this project were: 1) to self-develop practical instructional competence by teaching pupils with diverse backgrounds in the U.S.; 2) to enhance the abilities in developing teaching materials through hands-on teaching experiences in English; and 3) to acquire the abilities to design, implement and evaluate programs for promoting global partnership. In addition, the teaching experience was followed by cross-cultural study visits to Raleigh, NC and Washington, D.C. It helped to boost our group motivation that the local media, newspaper and TV, and the city Board of Education covered our visit. It is hoped that this project will enhance the students’ teaching competence in designing quality materials/lessons and classroom communication skills in English
