No evidence of break-up effects on the fusion of 9Be with medium-light nuclei
AbstractFusion cross sections were measured for the 9Be+27Al and 19F+9Be, 12C systems, at energies above the Coulomb barrier, in order to investigate the possible effect of fusion hindrance due to the break-up of the weakly bound nuclei. Comparisons with one-dimensional barrier penetration models and with other similar systems, where no break-up is expected to occur, show no evidence of fusion hindrance
Acetohydroxamatoiron(III) complexes : thermodynamics of formation and temperature dependent speciation.
Studies of the thermodynamics of formation of the acetohydroxamatoiron(III) complexes were carried out in acidic media at temperatures ranging from 293 to 323 K. Through the isolation of the unique UV-visible spectra of all three complexes, it was possible to determine their formation constants and deduce enthalpies and entropies of formation as well as their molar absorptivities. The enthalpies of formation of the mono-, bis- and trisacetohydroxamatoiron(III) complexes were found to be -56.4, -17.09 and +19.74 kJ.mol(-1), respectively. Following the determination of the enthalpy and entropy of formation of these complexes, speciation diagrams were calculated for the complexes at temperatures ranging from 293 to 323 K
Elastic, inelastic scattering and fusion of the N + Co system at energies close to the coulomb barrier
Elastic and inelastic scattering differential cross sections were
measured in the energy range 30 MeV E
55 MeV, for the
N + Co system. Ambiguities of the optical potential derived
from the analysis of the elastic scattering data were removed by performing
calculations at the radius of sensitivity and by comparison with the
available fusion cross section data. A simultaneous analysis of the three
mechanisms was performed by coupled channel calculations, and a unique
energy independent nuclear potential was found to be able to fit the data.
Discussions and comparisons concerning the optical model, the threshold
anomaly, full and approximated coupled channel calculations are presented
