Studi Karakteristik Tegangan Tembus DC Polaritas Positif pada Gas Nitrogen (N2)
Insulation of Sulfur hexafluoride (SF6) gas, nitrogen (N2) gas and Carbon Dioxide (CO2) gas usually used in circuit breaker. Sulfur hexafluoride (SF6) gas is widely used in high-voltage system. Sulfur hexafluoride (SF6) gas has a higher dielectric strength than the dielectric strength of air. However, Sulfur hexafluoride (SF6) gas is not environmentally friendly and very impact on global warming.The purpose of this study was to test the breakdown voltage of nitrogen (N2) gas is more environmentally friendly as an alternative to insulation of sulfur hexafluoride (SF6) gas. This study use electrodes balls and needles with a distance of 0.5-2 cm and use pressure of 1-4 bar being tested as much as 20 times the experiment. From the test results obtained that the breakdown voltage electrode bigger balls than the electrode needles. Electrode balls with a distance of 2 cm and a pressure of 4 bar has a value of breakdown voltage greater than 140 kV, while the electrode needles with a distance of 2 cm and a pressure of 4 bar has a breakdown voltage of 79 kV
Desain dan Analisa Sistem Proteksi Petir pada Rumah Sakit Universitas Riau
A lightning protection system is indispensable for the building that has a very vital function, such as Hospital. To protect the building from direct strike and indirect strike use of air terminationsystem and arrester. Among them are air termination system, Protection Angle Method, Method Jala, and Rolling Sphere Method. Building Riau University Hospital is a health care center built by size (p x l x t) 61m x 31m x 27m. To design a lightning protection system at the University Hospital of Riau note identifying the needs of a lightning protection system based PUIPP, the determination of the distance from the strike, election finial, determination conductor resistance values down andgrounding buildings. From the calculation of hazard assessment, the area of lightning strikes reach 37406.98 m2, the possibility of being struck by lightning strikes each year at 0.8915 with a lightning protection system efficiency by 0.883. Based on the results of the design and analysis of building structures Riau University Hospital using the ball rolling seen that the existing protection system can not protect the entire building well. From these results it appears that the building Riau UniversityHospital requires 8 finial placed on any area affected by stroke each finial 1 meter high and the ground is good enough prisoners of 3.5 ohms
Perancangan Alat dan Pengujian Tegangan Tembus dengan Minyak Isolasi RBDPO Olein Menggunakan Elektroda Bola-Bola
The crude oil based transformer insulation has several issues i.e. non-environment friendly, non-biodegradable, non-reneweble, and rarely. Vegetable oil is an alternative transformer insulation which is Crude Palm Oil based RBDPO Olein. This paper proposes study to investigate characteristic the AC breakdown voltage referring to IEC 60156-95 standard to apply sphere electrode of RBDPO Olein prior water content reduction, post water content reduction, and converting fatty acids into Methyl Ester. Breakdown voltage also look into the effect of gap electrode and affectivity of sphere electrode scheme. The experiment has shown the breakdown voltage have increased significantly after various samples of RBDPO Olein being reduction the water content, has compered to IEC 156 standard with the value of (30 kV/2.5 mm). The gap of electrode has shown a significant value on breakdown voltage measurement result. In the mean time to measure the effectivity breakdown voltage of sphere electrode scheme, the Mineral Oil is deployed with complied to IEC 156 standard. The measurement result shows lower then IEC 60156-95 standard was 68,73 %. The experiment also shown the density measurement, the viscosity measurement, the dissolved gas analysis measurement, and dielectric dissipation factor measurement achieve RBDPO Olein less water concentration
Analisa Sambaran Petir terhadap Kinerja Arrester pada Transformator Daya 150 KV Menggunakan Program ATP
This study shows the effect of a lightning strike on the performance of lightning arresters at 150 kV power transformers. In the lightning strike case, there are several parameters that may affect to the arresters performance indicator, i.e the current charge and current quadratic integral . The analysis process is conducted by parameters modelling of transmission line and substation. The simulations are done by providing direct strike to the ground wire of 10 MV with a varies of the wave front time (Tf) and the duration of the strike (tau) of lightning impulse. To calculate the current charge and current quadratic integral of a wide variety of Tf and tau was involved trapezoidal numerical integration methods. Current charge and current quadratic integral that arise from direct strike and varies of Tf and tau compared to each phase in order to obtain the effect of Tf and tau lightning impulse on the performance of arresters as complied to the standard IEEE C62. 11
Sifat Dielektrik Campuran Gas CO2 dengan Nitrogen (N2) Dibawah Terpaan Medan Tinggi DC Polaritas Positif
Sulfur hexafluoride gas (SF6) is widely used in the power electrical system such as circuit breaker, gas insulated switchgear (GIS) and gas insulated line (GIL). However, this gas has negative impacts such as global warming, so we need to find other gases as alternative gas for example is carbon dioxide (CO2) and nitrogen (N2) that it is more friendly environmental materials. This research discusses about dielectric characteristics of mixture of carbon dioxide gas (CO2) and nitrogen (N2) gas under pressure high voltage in positive polarity. This experiment aims to estimate the breakdown voltage in mixture of carbon dioxide gas (CO2) and Nitrogen (N2). This experiment was carried out by using sphere electrodes and needle-rod electrodes. The result is indicated that the breakdown voltage in gas with sphere electrodes is greater than with needle-rod electrodes and then space electrodes are proportional to breakdown voltage in gas insulation
Analisa Gas Terlarut pada Minyak Transformator Daya 150 KV dengan Menggunakan Metode Duval Pentagon
Transformer oil is one of the important components of a transformer, because in addition to its function as an insulator which provides the function of inter-winding insulation inside the transformer, as well as the cooling medium to absorb heat from the transformer core and transformer winding. The content of gases dissolved in transformer oil indirectly indicate the condition of the transformer itself. Therefore, analysis of transformer oil or Diissolved Gas analys (DGA) needs to be done to determine the type of interference that may occur in the transformer, which can be directly carried out an action and special attention to the transformer before the condition worsens. The final task is about the maintenance actions that must be done to the results of gas content dissolved in transformer insulating oil. This research was conducted by comparing some methods of interpretation that is TDCG, Duval triangle, and Duval pentagon. The test sample used for analysis is the transformer oil samples at some substations owned by PT. PLN (Persero) P3BS UPT Pekanbaru, Riau. The results showed that increasing the amount of dissolved combustible gas in transformer oil will result in reduced performance of the transformer. This would explain that the transformer has impaired which can be disturbances thermal (thermal fault), partial discharge, or arcing
Karakteristik Dielektrik Campuran Gas Karbondioksida (CO2) dengan Nitrogen (N2) Dibawah Terpaan Medan Tinggi DC Polaritas Negatif
Gas insulating material commonly used in electrical system is SF6 gas. SF6 gas is used as an insulator material in electrical system in transfer heat. However, SF6 gas is not environmentally friendly, and triggers the increase of global warming so it is necessary to conduct research to get other gas insulators as alternative materials such as gas Carbondioxide (CO2) and Nitrogen (N2). This study discusses the dielectric characteristics of a mixture of Carbondioxide (CO2) gas with Nitrogen (N2) under electrical stress (high voltage negative polarity). The study used spherical electrodes and needles with varying gap distances and we compared the gas breakdown voltage with ratio 25% CO2 : 75% N2, 50% CO2 : 50% N2, and 75% CO2 : 25% N2 respectively. The purpose this research is to find the maximum breakdown voltage for several ratio gases. From the test result obtained breakdown voltage in negative polarity is smaller than positive polarity. We also attempted the gases breakdown voltage 70 trials and it was indicated that the breakdown voltage varied -78,69 kV until -105 kV. The maximum discharge current recorded by an osciloscope was -104 A in 50% CO2 : 50% N2 ratio

Resin is the polymer material that can be used as high voltage insulators that have high volume resistivity, lighter, high insulation strength and good mechanical strength.Alumina (Al2O3) is one of oxide ceramic that is widely use in the electronic and mechanical material. This research proposes the breakdown voltage test on alumina filler with varies of weight i.e 0.1gr, 0.2gr, 0.3gr, 0.4gr, 0.5gr, 0.6gr, 0.7gr, 0.8gr, 0.9gr, 1gr, 1.1gr, 1.2gr , 1.3gr, 1.4gr, 1.5gr, 1.6gr, 1.7gr, 1.8gr, 1.9gr and 2gr, respectively. The sulfur hexafluorida (SF6) is the best insulators for high voltage. However, SF6 has a very serious problem for the environment that this gas has make a big contribution for global warming. Of course, the study of other insulators is necessary to get the efficient insulation than SF6. Required alternative insulation gases such as carbon dioxide (CO2), nitrogen (N2) or vacuum insulation. From experiment testing with needle electrodes and sphere electrodes for vacuum pressure on -100 mmHg, -150 mmHg, -250 mmHg and -500 mmHg, respectively show the breakdown voltage is lowest than to the air pressure insulation. Then, the data from the study also found that the vacuum breakdown voltage is smaller than air. The use of linear method can show the vacuum breakdown voltage is inversely proportional to the air. But vacuum breakdown voltage is directly proportional to the distance between the needle electrode or sphere electrode
