    Provinsi Aceh ini memiliki wilayah perairan yang sangat strategis dikarenakan wilayahnya berhadapan langsung dengan Samudera Hindia. Maka dari itu, diperlukan  sarana dan prasarana yang memadai berupa  transportasi laut yang dapat membantu aktivitas masyarakat umum. Penelitian ini dilakukan di Alur Pelabuhan Penyeberangan Ulee Lheue Provinsi Aceh Kecamatan Meuraxa (55°33'06” LU dan 95°17'73” BT) yang dilakukan pada pukul 08:00-18:00 WIB.     Mangrove merupakan tanaman yang dapat dimanfaatkan sebagai pencegah abrasi dan pemecah gelombang. Aksi penanaman mangrove dilakukan oleh mahasiswa dan dosen sebagai bentuk pengabdian terhadap masyarakat dengan tujuan sebagai bentuk upaya mitigasi abrasi. Pengabdian ini dilakukan pada Bulan November 2022 di Desa Peunaga, Aceh Barat. Penanaman mangrove ini menggunakan 100 bibit, dengan menggunakan jarak masing-masing bibit berjarak 4 x 2 m. Secara umum kegiatan ini dimulai dengan 1) pemaparan singkat mengenai kegiatan yang akan dilakukan, 2) memilih bibit yang layak untuk digunakan, 3) membentang jarak untuk bibit mangrove ditanam, 4) Pelepasan polybag bibit, 5) pembuatan lubang, 6) Penanaman bibit. Harapan kedepan, penanaman mangrove ini bisa menjadi cikal bakal mitigasi abrasi yang terjadi di Desa Peunaga

    Management of lobster fisheries aims to analyze lobster fisheries management system and lobster resource management pattern through Ecosystem Approach to Fisheries Management (EAFM) at the Simeulue Regency Aceh Province. The study was conducted in a lobster breeding area, at the sub-district of South Teupah and sub-district of Teluk Dalam Simeulue regency in June to July 2016, location determination using purposive sampling method. Data collection with questionnaires and direct field-taking. Analysis of data processing using analysis of fisheries management indicators through ecosystem approach (EAFM). The results showed that assessment indicator EAFM for fish resource domains in good condition (220), habitat and ecosystem domains in good condition (205), and institutional domains are also in good condition (227).Keywords: EAFM, Ecosystems, Lobsters, Simeulu

    Income of fishers in West Aceh District usually fluctuating, indicate by the small of number of catches of fisherman. Another thing that has a negative impact on the economy fishermens households is the Covid-19 pandemic. Limited land is a problem for fishermen’s families, previously fishermen’s wives drying salted fish to increase their income. One of the tips is to apply fish cultivation technology on limited land with the Integrated Multi-Trophic Aquaculture (IMTA) system. The purpose of this activity is to provide knowledge to a group of fishermen’s wives about fish farming based on the IMTA system. The method used is the socialization of IMTA system fish farming, IMTA system fish pond construction training, production management guidance, training on production performance analysis and marketing strategy, monitoring and evaluation. Integrated fish cultivation training activities for groups of fishermen’s wives received positive support and response from group partners. This activity is very beneficial for houswives because they get new skills to increase economic income. This program is a solution for fishermen’s families during uncertain economic conditions due to the Covid-19 pandemic. This group activity will be an inspiration and model for other fishermen’s wives to do fish farming in limited land and water sources

    Indonesian marine waters have habitats for six species of sea turtles from seven species in the world, namely green turtles (green turtles, Chelonia mydas), olive ridley turtles (olive ridley, Lepidochelys olivacea), loggerhead turtles (loggerhead, Caretta caretta), hawksbill turtles (hawksbill, Eretmochelys imbricata), leatherback turtles (leatherback, Dermochely coriacea) and flatback turtles (flatback, Natator depressus). All types of turtles in Indonesia are protected under PP. 7 of 1999 concerning Preservation of Plant and Animal Species and PP No. 8 of 1999 concerning the Utilization of Wild Plant and Animal Species, which means that all trade in a state of life or death is prohibited.
