    Spending Behaviour of Northeast Normal University Students by Using Plastic Money

    Plastic money is precious financial instrument which is being used to place of money due to its easiness. It bases on bank ATM, debit and credit cards as well as university and organizations’ cards are also come under it due its payment services. This paper explores the spending behavior of Northeast Normal University, Changchun, students. The students use university cards mostly inside the campus supper markets for shopping and bank cards as well. The questionnaire was used to collect the data. Hypothesis testing are showing that if age increases then the usage of cards increases as compare to hard cash. Furthermore, male has more share in spending than females.     English language as a medium of instruction among Pakistani International students in Northeast Normal University

    Main aim of this paper was to explore the usage of English Language by way of the source of training among Pakistani International students at Northeast Normal  University. The paper employed qualitative approach; semi-structured interviews were used to assemble facts from 20 international offers an initial representation of the speedily rising worldwide phenomenon of English medium instruction (EMI). English, today emerges because the predominant medium of international tutorial discourse. English is perceived because the key to the socio-cultural advancement.  Almost the student spent more than two hours to self study English, which purpose is to make strong his skill in English.60% agree with a quality of English Language in this school in some aspects, like write, speech, read in the classroom. Working EMI definition: using the English language to train instructional subjects in countries or jurisdictions where the primary language (L1) of most people of the population isn't always English.     An epidemiological, strategic and response analysis of the COVID-19 pandemic in South Asia: A population-based observational study

    Introduction: South Asia has had a dynamic response to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic. The overall burden and response have remained comparable across highly-burdened countries within the South Asian Region. Methodology: Using a population-based observational design, all eight South Asian countries were analyzed using a step-wise approach. Data were obtained from government websites and publicly-available repositories for population dynamics and key variables. Results: South Asian countries have a younger average age of their population. Inequitable distribution of resources centered in urban metropolitan cities within South Asia is present. Certain densely populated regions in these countries have better testing and healthcare facilities that correlate with lower COVID-19 incidence per million populations. Trends of urban-rural disparities are unclear given the lack of clear reporting of the gaps within these regions. COVID-19 vaccination lag has become apparent in South Asian countries, with the expected time to complete the campaign being unfeasible as the COVID-19 pandemic progresses. Conclusion: With a redesigning of governance policies on preventing the rise of COVID-19 promptly, the relief on the healthcare system and healthcare workers will allow for adequate time to roll out vaccination campaigns with equitable distribution. Capacity expansion of public health within the Region is required to ensure a robust healthcare response to the ongoing pandemic and future infectious disease outbreak

    Carbon nanotubes (CNTs) are referred to as carbon nano-architecture allotropes, with wrapped graphene sheets forming a cylindrical structure. CNTs are either developed by metals or narrow-band semiconductors with rolling graphene sheets in various ways. Researchers have dedicated a great deal of attention to understanding the fascinating properties of CNTs over the years, and possess certain peculiar properties, such as a high degree of stiffness, a wide ratio of length to diameter, and remarkable toughness, and are employed in a number of applications. These properties can be enhanced by scheming the diameter, nature of walls, chirality, length of CNTs which is rolled up, and depending on the synthesis process. This chapter extensively covers the various properties of CNTs and how it influences to desired applications and also explains numerous methods of synthesis and processing of CNTs with advantages and some drawbacks

    Cation/Proton Antiporter Genes in Tomato: Genomic Characterization, Expression Profiling, and Co-Localization with Salt Stress-Related QTLs

    The cation/proton antiporter (CPA) family represents a class of transmembrane transporter proteins that play a crucial role in plants during high salinity stress by maintaining the cell’s ionic balance and pH homeostasis. So far, the CPA genes have not been systematically characterized in tomato (Solanum lycopersicum). In this study, we identified and analyzed 33 putative CPA genes in tomato. Phylogenetic analysis showed that tomato CPAs could be classified into three subgroups, i.e., CHX (18 genes), KEA (8 genes), and NHX (7 genes). CPA genes within each subgroup shared similar motifs, conserved catalytic domains and gene structure. Further analysis revealed that the CPA genes were unevenly distributed on the chromosomes and segmental duplication events played a major role in the expansion of the CPA gene family in tomato. Gene expression analysis exhibited that CPA genes were differentially expressed in different tissues, various stages of fruit development, and differentially regulated in response to abiotic stresses, especially salt stress. Further, co-localization of tomato CPA genes with quantitative trait loci (QTL) of salt stress-related phenotypes revealed their broader functions in salt stress tolerance. Finally, predicted protein–protein interactions of tomato CPAs, gene ontology analysis, and the presence of putative cis-elements in the promoter further support the diverse role of tomato CPAs in plant development and plant stress tolerance. In brief, this study highlights the potential role of tomato CPAs in plant development and abiotic stress tolerance, especially in salt stress, and provides comprehensive information to explore new candidate genes for salt tolerance in tomato

    Exorbitant Drug Loading of Metformin and Sitagliptin in Mucoadhesive Buccal Tablet: In Vitro and In Vivo Characterization in Healthy Volunteers

    The aim of the proposed study is to develop a mucoadhesive buccal delivery system for the sustained delivery of metformin (MET) and sitagliptin (SIT) against diabetes mellitus (DM) with improved bioavailability. Polymeric blend of Carbopol® 940 (CP), agarose (AG) or polyvinylpyrrolidone K30 (PVP) as mucoadhesive agents in formulations (R1–R15) were compressed via the direct compression technique. Tablets were characterized for solid state studies, physicochemical and in vivo mucoadhesion studies in healthy volunteers. Outcomes did not reveal any unusual peak or interaction between the drugs and polymers in the physical mixture through Fourier Transform Infrared Spectroscopy (FTIR) and DSC analysis. The mucoadhesive blend of CP and PVP was superior compared to other blends. The formulation R4 revealed exorbitant loading of drugs with complete drug release for 6 h with ex vivo mucoadhesive strength and time of 26.99 g and 8.1 h, respectively. It was further scrutinized to evaluate it as an optimized formulation where it was found to be stable for up to 6 months. The formulation R4 depicted Korsmeyer–Peppas model and first-order mode of release correspondingly for SIT and MET. Moreover, it showed hemocompatibility, biocompatibility and stability with non-significant changes in the dissolution profile. Overall, the CP blend with PVP was found appropriate to yield the desired release coupled with the optimized mucoadhesive properties of the buccal tablets, ensuring sufficient pharmaceutical stability
