SUPPORTING FAMILIES WITH CHILDREN WITH AUTISM SPECTRUM DISORDERS (AS)

    Get PDF
The relevance of the study is determined by two interrelated points: the need to increase (1) the effectiveness of comprehensive support for persons with ASD and (2) the quality of life of children with ASD and the families in which they grow up. Comprehensive support can be neither (a) comprehensive without active, conscious, appropriately qualified participation of the family, nor (b) effective if the attitudes of specialists are not maintained for most of the day (when correcting autism, especially at the initial stage, it is actually necessary to change the lifestyle for the entire family). The only way to overcome these difficulties is to raise the awareness of family members in which there is a child with autism, their awareness of their real responsibility to the child and the possibilities of its effective implementation. Object of research: the process of support to families with children with autism spectrum disorders (ASD). Subject: Families with children with autism spectrum disorders (ASD). Purpose: to describe foreign and domestic experience on the problem of involvement of parents of children with ASD, contributing to an increase in the efficiency of the support process. Objectives: to analyze foreign and domestic literature on the problem of the involvement of parents of children with ASD in their comprehensive support. Methods: analysis of literature data; comparative studies; information visualization; comparison and generalization of the results obtained. Results: research materials can be used to qualitatively change work with parents and other family members of children with ASD in organizations implementing early assistance, preschool and primary general education programs, as well as in public organizations uniting parents of children with ASD. Conclusions: The results of analysis of foreign and domestic sources have established the possibilities and ways of involving parents and other family members of children with ASD, the following are included in the comprehensive support: biological characteristics of close relatives of a child with ASD; socio-psychological characteristics of a family with a child with ASD; interaction between specialists and parents. Recommendations: to continue research to study the correction of speech development, as the most important area of comprehensive support for children, adolescents and adults with ASD.&nbsp

    Get PDF
This work presents computer-aided scan path generation for robotic non-destructive testing of complex shaped test-pieces. Off-line programmed scan path was used to robotically inspect an aluminium fixed leading edge skin panel of an aircraft wing by means of swept frequency eddy currents method. Eddy currents probe was deployed by means of a six-axis robotic arm KUKA KR5 arc. Reverse engineering of the test-piece was carried out to reconstruct CAD model of its surface. Positioning accuracy of the performed continuous scan was measured with a laser tracker in accordance with ISO 9283:1998 and is reported in the paper. The positional uncertainty of the NDT scan calculated as the standard deviation of the measured path coordinates from the command path coordinates does not exceed 0.5 mm which is rather moderate taking in account uncertainties associated with the off-line robot programming

Assessing the accuracy of industrial robots through metrology for the enhancement of automated non-destructive testing

This work presents the study of the accuracy of an industrial robot KR5 arc HW, used to perform quality inspections of components with complex shapes. Metrology techniques such as laser tracking and large volume photogrammetry were deployed to quantify both pose and dynamic path accuracies of the robot in accordance with ISO 9283:1998. The overall positioning pose inaccuracy of the robot is found to be almost 1 mm and path inaccuracy at 100% of the robot rated velocity is 4.5 mm. The maximum pose orientation inaccuracy is found to be 14 degrees and the maximum path orientation inaccuracy is 5 degrees. Despite of the significant maximum inaccuracies, uncertainty of a robotic scanning application is estimated to be 0.5mm. Local positional errors manifest pronounced dependence on the position of the robot end effector in the working envelope. The uncertainties of the measurements are discussed and deemed to be caused by the tool center point calibration, the reference coordinate system transformation and the low accuracy of the photogrammetry system

Goal. To study the humoral immunity state in patients with the slowed down achievement of negative serologic reactions after the treatment of early onset forms of syphilis by means of examining the blood serum level of idiotypic and anti-idiotypic antibodies to cardiolipin and p17 Treponema Pallidum antigenic protein. Materials and methods. The study involved 324 patients (39.5% male and 60.5% female) with the slowed down achievement of negative serologic reactions. Primary (idiotypic) antibodies to cardiolipin and p17 protein were obtained using immunochromatographic assays with the help of the Bio Logik LP system. Purified antibodies were concentrated using the ultrafiltration technique with the aid of the XM-100А membrane. To obtain the rabbit antiserum to p17 Treponema Pallidum protein, chinchilla rabbits were immunized using the commercial recombinant p17 protein. To determine anti-cardiolipin idiotypic antibodies in the blood serum, the ELISa method optimized for detecting anti-cardiolipin antibodies was applied. To determine anti-cardiolipin anti-idiotypic antibodies as well as idiotypic and anti-idiotypic antibodies to p17 Treponema Pallidum protein, the standard ELISA method was applied. The following antigens were used to process the pads: F(ab)2 fragments of anti-cardiolipin antibodies (5 μg/mL), recombinant р17 T. pallidum protein (5 μg/mL) and F(ab)2 fragments of antibodies to р17 T. pallidum protein (10 μg/mL). The level of antibodies was assessed based on the absorbancy and expressed in conventional activity units using the K coefficient being the absorbancy of the serum under examination to the mean absorbancy of control serums ratio. The K value exceeding 1.5 conventional units indicated the increased level of antibodies. Results. Patients with the slowed down achievement of negative serologic reactions demonstrated a selective increase in the level of anti-idiotypic antibodies (AIAB) relative to T. pallidum antigens, cardiolipin and p17 protein, vs. first-order antibodies, which points at abnormal mutual regulation between idiotypic antibodies (IAB) and AIAB; the discovered phenomenon lays the immunochemical basis for the formation of a self-sustaining “vicious circle” contributing to the induction of high levels of antibodies to treponema antigens even when the pathogen was destroyed.

Exact 2-point function in Hermitian matrix model

    J. Harer and D. Zagier have found a strikingly simple generating function for exact (all-genera) 1-point correlators in the Gaussian Hermitian matrix model. In this paper we generalize their result to 2-point correlators, using Toda integrability of the model. Remarkably, this exact 2-point correlation function turns out to be an elementary function - arctangent. Relation to the standard 2-point resolvents is pointed out. Some attempts of generalization to 3-point and higher functions are described.Comment: 31 pages, 1 figur

BGWM as Second Constituent of Complex Matrix Model

Earlier we explained that partition functions of various matrix models can be constructed from that of the cubic Kontsevich model, which, therefore, becomes a basic elementary building block in "M-theory" of matrix models. However, the less topical complex matrix model appeared to be an exception: its decomposition involved not only the Kontsevich tau-function but also another constituent, which we now identify as the Brezin-Gross-Witten (BGW) partition function. The BGW tau-function can be represented either as a generating function of all unitary-matrix integrals or as a Kontsevich-Penner model with potential 1/X (instead of X^3 in the cubic Kontsevich model).Comment: 42 page

Quantum Mechanics of the Vacuum State in Two-Dimensional QCD with Adjoint Fermions

    Get PDF
A study of two-dimensional QCD on a spatial circle with Majorana fermions in the adjoint representation of the gauge groups SU(2) and SU(3) has been performed. The main emphasis is put on the symmetry properties related to the homotopically non-trivial gauge transformations and the discrete axial symmetry of this model. Within a gauge fixed canonical framework, the delicate interplay of topology on the one hand and Jacobians and boundary conditions arising in the course of resolving Gauss's law on the other hand is exhibited. As a result, a consistent description of the residual ZNZ_N gauge symmetry (for SU(N)) and the ``axial anomaly" emerges. For illustrative purposes, the vacuum of the model is determined analytically in the limit of a small circle. There, the Born-Oppenheimer approximation is justified and reduces the vacuum problem to simple quantum mechanics. The issue of fermion condensates is addressed and residual discrepancies with other approaches are pointed out.Comment: 44 pages; for hardcopies of figures, contact [email protected]

A comparative study of the electrochemical properties of vitamin B-6 related compounds at physiological pH

    Get PDF
A comparative study of vitamin B6 group and related compounds in buffered solutions using electrochemical techniques has been performed at neutral pH. Irreversible bi- or tetra-electronic processes are observed for these substances, and the electron transfer coefficient (αn) calculated. It was concluded that either the first or second electron transfer were the rate determining step of the electrode process. The diffusion coefficient of these substances was calculated and the values given follow an inverse tendency to the molecular size. For aldehydes the values obtained were corrected of the hydration reaction. It is important to remark that catalytic waves were reported for the first time for these compounds. Using a model involving the nitrogen of the basic structure the kinetic constants were calculated for most of them

Mapping of periodically poled crystals via spontaneous parametric down-conversion

A new method for characterization of periodically poled crystals is developed based on spontaneous parametric down-conversion. The method is demonstrated on crystals of Y:LiNbO3, Mg:Y:LiNbO3 with non-uniform periodically poled structures, obtained directly under Czochralski growth procedure and designed for application of OPO in the mid infrared range. Infrared dispersion of refractive index, effective working periods and wavelengths of OPO were determined by special treatment of frequency-angular spectra of spontaneous parametric down-conversion in the visible range. Two-dimensional mapping via spontaneous parametric down-conversion is proposed for characterizing spatial distribution of bulk quasi-phase matching efficiency across the input window of a periodically poled sample.Comment: 19 pages, 6 figure
