    Dengue is the most frequent hemorrhagic disease in our environment and the main viral infection in humans transmitted by arthropods. The importance of the pathology is due to it has turned into a problem of public health in the world, for being an emergent disease with a high rate of morbidity and mortality. It is important its clinical classification and to have present the alarm signs. The patients must be grouped to decide the level of attention where treatment and monitoring must afforded. Always the clinical and monitoring and of laboratory must be carried out. A specific treatment for dengue does not exist. Early, sufficient and adequate hydration is fundamental in the therapeutical plan. Hygienic measures and the control of the vector continue being the prevention tools.
