    Decays Z' -> \gamma\gamma\gamma{} and Z -> \gamma\gamma\gamma{} in the minimal 331 model

    Full text link
    The possibility of a significant effect of exotic particles on the Z'->\gamma\gamma\gamma{} and Z->\gamma\gamma\gamma{} decays is investigated in the context of the minimal 331 model. This model, which is based in the SU_C(3)xSU_L(3)xU_X(1) gauge group, predicts the existence of many exotic charged particles that can significantly enhance the decay widths. It is found that the standard model prediction for the Z->\gamma\gamma\gamma{} decay remains essentially unchanged, as the new physics effects quickly decouples. On the other hand, it is found that the contributions of the new exotic quarks and gauge bosons predicted by this model lead to a branching fraction for the Z'->\gamma\gamma\gamma{} decay of about 10^(-6), which is about three orders of magnitude larger than that of the Z->\gamma\gamma\gamma{} decay.Comment: 20 pages and 20 figure

    Calorimetric and acoustic study of binary mixtures containing an isomeric chlorobutane and butyl ethyl ether or methyl tert-butyl ether

    Get PDF
    Densities and speeds of sound in the temperature range 283.15-313.15 K have been measured for the binary mixtures formed by an isomeric chlorobutane (1-chlorobutane, 2-chlorobutane, 1-chloro-2-methylpropane, or 2-chloro-2-methylpropane) and butyl ethyl ether or methyl tert-butyl ether. Excess isentropic compressibilities were calculated from the experimental data. Excess enthalpies at T = 298.15 K are also included for the same binary mixtures. All these properties provide an insight into the nature of interactions operating on the present systems. Finally, the Prigogine-Flory-Patterson theory has been used to analyze the H E results and to estimate the isentropic compressibility values of the mixtures at T = 298.15 K

    Investigación de Mercado para Formular Estrategias de Marketing para el Ingreso de una Empresa de Chocolatería Fina en la Ciudad de Arequipa, 2018

    El presente documento tiene por objetivo determinar el mercado y brindar las mejores estrategias para la apertura de una chocolatería en la ciudad de Arequipa. La propuesta de valor que se presenta es brindar un producto y servicio acorde al segmento de mercado al cual están enfocadas dichas estrategias ya que el mercado se encuentra consolidado. Así pues se han determinado 10 segmentos de mercado de cuales se tomara el segmento 9, un grupo conformado más por mujeres de entre 18 a 41 años que trabajan en labores de oficina y que viven generalmente en los distritos de Alto Selva Alegre Arequipa y Miraflores, ellos adquieren sus chocolates de obsequio en tiendas de La Ibérica ya que esta se encuentra próxima a su residencia o lugar de trabajo —aunque preferirían una tienda cerca de un centro comercial cercano—, más sin embargo están dispuesto a comprar de una empresa diferente a esta debido en parte a buscar variedad de producto siendo los bombones rellenos —coco u otros sin alejarse mucho de los sabores clásicos— el tipo de chocolate más frecuente comprado como obsequio en este segmento adquiriendo generalmente una unidad que esta alrededor de 49 soles, al menos 4 veces por año siendo la presentación del producto y empaque de suma importancia en su decisión de compra, así pues ellos prefieren observar el producto en físico antes de realizar la compra pero no así con la publicidad, ya que optan que sea a través de redes sociales. Como consecuencia se prevé enfocarse en este segmento mediante estrategias intensivas en desarrollo de producto, ya sea mediante la elaboración de cajas más elaboradas y sobrias con bombones de presentación llamativa, así como ofrecer los productos a precios dentro del rango estipulado dentro del perfil, esto incluye también ubicar la tienda dentro de un centro comercial y publicitarse por medio de redes sociales. Non Sequential Recursive Pair Substitution: Some Rigorous Results

    Full text link
    We present rigorous results on some open questions on NSRPS, non sequential recursive pairs substitution method (see Grassberger in \cite{G}). In particular, starting from the action of NSRPS on finite strings we define a corresponding natural action on measures and we prove that the iterated measure becomes asymptotically Markov. This certify the effectiveness of NSRPS as a tool for data compression and entropy estimation.Comment: 20 page

    Electric dipole and magnetic quadrupole moments of the WW boson via a CP-violating HWWHWW vertex in effective Lagrangians

    Full text link
    The possibility of nonnegligible WW electric dipole (μ~W\widetilde{\mu}_W) and magnetic quadrupole (Q~W\widetilde{Q}_W) moments induced by the most general HWWHWW vertex is examined via the effective Lagrangian technique. It is assumed that new heavy fermions induce an anomalous CP-odd component of the HWWHWW vertex, which can be parametrized by an SUL(2)×UY(1)SU_L(2)\times U_Y(1)-invariant dimension-six operator. This anomalous contribution, when combined with the standard model CP-even contribution, lead to CP-odd electromagnetic properties of the WW boson, which are characterized by the form factors Δκ~\Delta \widetilde{\kappa} and ΔQ~\Delta \widetilde{Q}. It is found that Δκ~\Delta \widetilde{\kappa} is divergent, whereas ΔQ~\Delta \widetilde{Q} is finite, which reflects the fact that the latter cannot be generated at the one-loop level in any renormalizable theory. Assuming reasonable values for the unknown parameters, we found that μ~W∼3−6×10−21\widetilde{\mu}_W\sim 3-6\times 10^{-21} e-cm, which is eight orders of magnitude larger than the SM prediction and close to the upper bound derived from the neutron electric dipole moment. The estimated size of the somewhat less-studied Q~W\widetilde{Q}_W moment is of the order of −10−36-10^{-36} e-cm^2, which is fifteen orders of magnitude above the SM contribution.Comment: 7 pages, 6 figures, REVTEX styl

    Trans-splenic puncture during percutaneous nephrolithotomy: Outcome spectrum of the same complication

    AbstractPercutaneous nephrolithotomy is an endourologic technique commonly used in the management of nephrolithiasis. However, this procedure is not complication-free. Splenic injury is exceptionally rare with a reported rate of 1% from the total case load. We present herein two cases of splenic puncture during percutaneous nephrolithotomy that illustrate two different outcomes. In the first case, the patient remained asymptomatic and was discharged on her third post-operative day after removing the nephrostomy, without any sign of hemodynamic compromise. In the second case, the patient presented with hemodynamic instability and an abdominal computed tomography scan was done that showed free fluid in the peritoneal cavity. Emergency laparotomy was performed and revealed a deep peripheral laceration (20mm×5mm in length) that required splenectomy. After a thorough review of the existing literature, we could find only 11 other instances of injury to the spleen in which treatment outcomes were reported. Patient hemodynamic status was the main factor in deciding on the type of treatment
