Applications of Particle Swarm Optimization Algorithm to Solving the Economic Load Dispatch of Units in Power Systems with Valve-Point Effects
Reduction of operating costs in power system in order to return the investment costs and more profitability has vital importance in power industry. Economic Load Dispatch (ELD) is one of the most important issues in reducing operating costs. ELD is formulated as a nonlinear optimization problem with continuous variables within the power plants. The main purpose of this problem is optimal planning of power generation in power plants with minimum cost by total units, regarded to equality and inequality constraints including load demand and the range of units' power productivity. In this article, Economic Load Dispatch problem has been modeled by considering the valve-point loading effects with power plants' constraints such as: the balance of production and consumption in system, the forbidden zones, range of production, increasing and decreasing rates, reliability constraints and network security. To solve the problem, Particle Swarm Optimization (PSO) Algorithms has been employed. To evaluate the effectiveness of the proposed method, the problem has been implemented on a power system with 15 generating units and the results have been evaluated.DOI:http://dx.doi.org/10.11591/ijece.v4i6.672
comparative study of tow mock heroic, mosh and gorbe , the rape of the lock
Mock epic is an important kind of parody, which is worth studying for its parodic nature and for the significance of epic genre. Mock epic by reversing the forms and content of elegant epic and consequently creates an eloquent text. The present Study aims at analyzing the formation of the two mock by the use of their form and content analysis. To shed light on the similarities and differences between mock epics in European and Persian Literature, two narrative poems were chosen to start a comparative analysis of their form and content. The comparative approach used in this study would help examine the differences and similarities between the way the two famous litterateurs have worked on the same genre, and it would help clarify reason behind the difference in their viewpoints in creating these narrative poems. This study will focus on Mouse and Cat byObeyd Zakani and The Rape of the Lock by Alexander Pope. The comparative method used in this study offers what the different and similar points in mock epics of Persian and English literature are. Finally, by analyzing the form and content of the two works, it will become clear that the English narrative poem could better and more powerfully create the elements of elegant epic and it has a more cohesive structure
Role of Endoplasmic Reticulum Stress in The Male Reproductive System
Testicular dysfunction, whether linked to varicocele, obesity, diabetes, aging, inflammation, or lifestyle or environmentalissues, is frequently accompanied by an accumulation of unfolded or misfolded proteins, indicating impaired endoplasmicreticulum (ER) function. In this review, we examined the Google Scholar, Scopus and PubMed databases (from 2011to 2022) to support the association of ER stress with defective spermatogenesis in animal models and humans. ERstress, whether in its pro-survival or pro-apoptotic aspect, appears to be closely linked to each studied situation.Several studies have demonstrated a significant increase in oxidative stress (OS) levels in infertile men compared tofertile individuals, which is associated with poor spermatogenesis quality. OS is likely the result of the interplay betweenER stress and spermatogenesis defects. These findings suggest that therapeutic strategies aimed at mitigating bothER stress and OS could be of interest in restoring male reproductive function
Spin Fidelity for Three-qubit Greenberger-Horne-Zeilinger and W States Under Lorentz Transformations
Constructing the reduced density matrix for a system of three massive
spin particles described by a wave packet with Gaussian momentum
distribution and a spin part in the form of GHZ or W state, the fidelity for
the spin part of the system is investigated from the viewpoint of moving
observers in the jargon of special relativity. Using a numerical approach, it
turns out that by increasing the boost speed, the spin fidelity decreases and
reaches to a non-zero asymptotic value that depends on the momentum
distribution and the amount of momentum entanglement.Comment: 12pages, 2 figure
Porównanie skuteczności topiramatu i walproinianu sodu w profilaktyce migreny: zaślepione randomizowane badanie skrzyżowane
Wprowadzenie. Topiramat i walproinian sodu są lekami przeciwdrgawkowymi.
W badaniach prowadzonych z kontrolą placebo
udowodniono, że leki te stosowane w monoterapii są skuteczne
w profilaktyce migreny.
Cele. Porównanie względnej skuteczności topiramatu i walproinianu
sodu w profilaktyce migreny.
Pacjenci i metody. Skrzyżowane, randomizowane badanie kliniczne,
przeprowadzone metodą podwójnie ślepej próby, trwało
24 tygodnie - od października 2003 roku do września 2004 roku.
Łącznie 64 pacjentów z migrenowymi bólami głowy, w wieku 14-57 lat, przydzielono losowo do dwóch grup terapeutycznych.
Pierwsza z nich otrzymywała topiramat (w dawce 25 mg/d. zwiększanej
w ciągu tygodnia do 50 mg) przez 2 miesiące. Druga grupa
- z 5,4 (2,5) do 4,0 (2,8), liczby epizodów w miesiącu, nasilenia
bólów głowy ocenianego za pomocą Wzrokowej Skali Analogowej
Oceny Bólu (VAS, Visual Analog Scale) - z 7,7 (1,2) do
5,8 (1,7) oraz skrócił się czas trwania bólów głowy - z 21,3 (14,6)
do 12,3 (10,7) godziny (p < 0,001). Natomiast u 32 pacjentów
leczonych topiramatem średnia (SD) częstość migreny w ciągu
miesiąca zmniejszyła się z 5,4 (2,0) do 3,2 (1,9) epizodów na
miesiąc, nasilenie bólów głowy oceniane za pomocą VAS zmalało
z 6,9 (1,2) do 3,7 (1,3), a czas trwania bólów głowy skrócił się
z 17,3 (8,4) do 3,9 (2,7) godziny (p < 0,001).
Wniosek. W badaniu dowiedziono, że zarówno leczenie topiramatem,
jak i walproinianem sodu istotnie łagodzi migrenowe bóle
głowy. Zmniejszenie tych dolegliwości pod wpływem działania
topiramatu i walproinianu sodu wykazano już wcześniej. Autorzy
sugerują, że korzyści wynikające ze stosowania topiramatu i walproinianu
sodu mogą być podobne
