Darma: Defeating And Reconnaissance Manna-Karma Attacks In 802.11 With Multiple Detections And Prevention

    Get PDF
The vast growing usage of mobile phones increases Wi-Fi technology. At present, the pattern of human interaction with the internet is not a desktop or laptop anymore. The assimilation of tools for surfing, working, and communication is now shifting to mobile phones. Thus, this is the motivation to expand Wi-Fi technology so that it will be the primary medium for internet connectivity. Hence, increasing the security risk for it attracts attackers despite its popularity among users. The DOS attack in 802.11 management frames is widely known as an initial process before Man-in-the-middle (MiTM) attacks in 802.11 takes part. Karma and Manna's attacks are an unprecedented attack in the 802.11 management frames. This paper proposed a mechanism called Defeating and Reconnaissance Manna-karma Attack (DARMA), which is client-side multiple detection techniques to defeat and prevent karma-manna attack. The proposed mechanism consisted of 4 layers of processes inclusive of monitors, detection, confirmation, and preventions. The effectiveness of the detection is base of the current real-time behaviour of the packets

An Analysis Of Standardized Data For Fog Computing Storage Capacity Using Non-Relational Database

    Get PDF
Computer applications nowadays relies on physical storage either to store the computation information or for the application itself. As the application become more complex and being used day after day, the data will be growing causing issue with lack of free space especially in fog computing where the storage resource is limited. Despite increasing disk storage or even migrating the data into the cloud would resolve this issue but this would also increase the overall cost as well. Thus, the objective of this paper is to analyse the difference between non-relational database with relational database in term of storage capacity. First the data from relational database will be taken and converted into a standard format and later turned into non-relational database. The result from the analysis will provide motivation for proposing database storage to be implemented in fog computing environmen

Sociotechnical Factors Influencing Unsafe Use Of Hospital Information Systems:A Qualitative Study In Malaysian Government Hospitals

The objective of this study is to identify factors influencing unsafe use of hospital information systems in Malaysian government hospitals.Semi-structured interviews with 31 medical doctors in three Malaysian government hospitals implementing total hospital information systems were conducted between March and May 2015.A thematic qualitative analysis was performed on the resultant data to deduce the relevant themes.A total of five themes emerged as the factors influencing unsafe use of a hospital information system:(1)knowledge,(2)system quality,(3) task stressor,(4) organization resources, and (5) teamwork. These qualitative findings highlight that factors influencing unsafe use of a hospital information system originate from multidimensional sociotechnical aspects.Unsafe use of a hospital information system could possibly lead to the incidence of errors and thus raises safety risks to the patients.Hence, multiple interventions (e.g. technology systems and teamwork) are required in shaping high-quality hospital information system use

The design and implementation of mobile heart monitoring applications using wearable heart rate sensor

    Get PDF
Heart monitoring is important to deter any catastrophic because of heart failure that may happen. Continuous real-time heart monitoring could prevent sudden death due to heart attack. Nevertheless, the major challenge associated with continuous heart monitoring in the traditional approach is to undertake regular medical check-ups at the hospital or clinic. Hence, the aim of this study is to develop a mobile app where patients can real-time monitor their heart rate (HR) and detect abnormal HR whenever it occurs. Caregivers will be notified when a patient is detected with abnormal HR. The mobile app was developed for Android-based smartphones. A wearable HR sensor is used to collect RR data and transmitted to the smartphone via Bluetooth connection. User acceptance test was conducted to comprehend the intention and satisfaction level of the prospective users to use the application. The user acceptance test shows compatibility, perceived usefulness, perceived ease of use, trust, and behavioral intention to use had a high acceptance rate. It is expected that the developed app may provide a more plausible tool in monitoring HR personally, conveniently, and continuously at any time and anywhere

The Development Of MUET Corpus And MUETapp

With the emergence of Industry 4.0, this study takes into consideration the application of the digitalisation era in education. The prevalent use of mobile devices, such as mobile phones, has an impact on how students learn, especially in the case of foreign language learning. Despite the fact that a large vocabulary is a powerful unit in language learning, it poses challenges to the MUET candidates in scoring good bands. Thus, this project intends to focus on expanding the vocabulary knowledge of the MUET candidates by capitalising on the technology in education. The project looks at the development of the MUET Corpus and MUETLex (a mobile language learning application). A collection of MUET question papers has been obtained from the Malaysian Examination Council (MPM). Next, the corpus of the question papers (the MUET corpus) will be developed and analysed to determine the vocabulary profile of the MUET question papers. Several other types of linguistic analyses will be carried out to further define the vocabulary in contexts. Next, the study will involve identifying the equivalent Malay language (Bahasa Melayu) translation of the vocabulary from the Malay Language Dictionary (Kamus Bahasa Melayu), Dewan Bahasa & Pustaka (DBP), before devising the list of bilingual dictionary entries of MUET question papers. This list has been used in the development of MUETLex – the first MUET mobile application in Malaysia. The MUET corpus will serve as the database for other aspects of investigation of the MUET question papers in the future. The list will be used for the development of a mobile language learning application - a bilingual (English-Bahasa Melayu) MUET dictionary (the MUETApps). This attempt is hoped to contribute significantly in improving the MUET candidates’ vocabulary knowledge, thus preparing them better for MUET

Design of non destructive testing on composite material using parallel plate electrical capacitance tomography: a conceptual framework

    No full text
In this paper, a conceptual framework for a non destructive testing to check defect on composite material using parallel plate electrical capacitance tomography is being proposed. At the early stage, the possibility of using this method is being simulated using Comsol Multiphysic software. The simulation process has shown promising results to make this concept works. When a dielectric material is placed between the parallel plates, the permittivity distribution can be observed. As the number of electrodes of the sensor are increased from 2 to 8 electrodes, the capacitance value increase from 2.0131e-11-2.3532e-14i F to 5.2474e-11-3.0756e-13i F. Furthermore, there are significant results when the size and the permittivity of the object are varies

Edutainment Tools For Deaf And Impairment Hearing Children : A Survey

Normally, children will start to play with combination of words at the age of twenty-four month and deaf or impairment hearing children born in deaf parents using combined sign to form sentence around eighteen month. Unfortunately, group of deaf or impairment hearing children with their hearing parents, start to learn language skill at very late stage due to they have less or no exposure and environment to learn sign language. During the stage of four to six years old, children need to obtain enough if not excessive information on language.Fail to do so,it will results in difficulties for their language skill development for the whole life. However, they might able to start learning sign language from school if they are lucky enough,or else, the situation becomes critical as they had to go through the hardship in language skill development. There are studies that show children who learn through software games may improve their thinking skills,fast-paced,immensely compelling and rewarding which this suggest us to teach these deaf children, using edutainment tools may help them to engage in learning and study becomes more fun. Therefore, this study also presents a survey on educated and enjoyable tools for deaf and impairment hearing children to teach sign language which is suitable to children and be helpful to those children
