    Multi Language Browser Support

    Web browsers have become an increasingly appealing platform for application developers. Browsers make it relatively easy to deliver cross-platform applications. Web browsers have become a de facto universal operating system, and JavaScript its instruction set. Unfortunately, executing any other language than JavaScript in web browser is not usually possible. Previous approaches are either non-portable or demand extensive modifications for programs to work in the browser. Translation to JavaScript (JS) is one option but that can be challenging if the language is sufficiently different from JS. Also, debugging translated applications can be difficult. This paper presents how languages like Scheme and Lua can be implemented in the web browser and shows how the web browsers can be extended to support multiple languages that can run in the browser simultaneously, interacting with each other seamlessly. In so doing, we hope to offer developers greater choice in languages for client-side programming

    Machine-learning assisted optimized power-saving techniques for battery-operated Wi-Fi Internet of Things (IoT) devices are provided. These techniques use various IoT device information including Manufacturer Usage Description (MUD) data along with a clustering algorithm to provide an automatic and dynamic computation of Target Wake Time (TWT) power save schedule for the devices. These techniques may be used by next generation 802.11ax access points to more efficiently schedule the target wake time for the 802.11ax supported IoT devices, to thereby prolong the lifetime of battery operated IoT devices connected to the 802.11ac access points

    The Quick User Datagram Protocol (UDP) Internet Connection (QUIC) protocol is slated to become the next (third) major version of the Hypertext Transfer Protocol (HTTP) – i.e., HTTP/3. As applications transition to QUIC for web traffic, a Secure Internet Gateway (SIG) needs to effectively load balance, proxy, and classify QUIC traffic. Techniques are presented herein that make use of a custom Connection ID (CID) artifact to allow a load balancer to determine, with minimal processing, a target server, and potentially the application that the QUIC flow is serving, in support of steering traffic to the appropriate upstream services.     Abstract: To assess the Knowledge, Attitude and Practices of nursing students on monitoring and reporting of adverse drug reactions in a tertiary care hospital. This questionnaire based study was conducted in a tertiary care hospital on 85 Prefinal and final year nursing students. The study instrument was a pre designed questionnaire which included the Knowledge of the ADRs reporting, the attitudes towards the reporting, and the factors which could hinder the reporting. The students were given an educative and interactive session for clearance of their understanding about Pharmacovigilance. The post-session questionnaire was also completed to assess their understanding. A total of 85 students participated. The median knowledge, attitude scores before the intervention were 42.5%, 46.6% respectively. After the intervention the scores increased significantly to 89.4%, 98.8% respectively

    Vitamin D deficiency and its correlation with pregnancy outcome

    Background: There is a growing concern about the high prevalence of vitamin D deficiency and its relationship with variety of diseases worldwide. The objective of this study was to determine the prevalence of vitamin D deficiency and its association with pregnancy outcome.Methods: This was a cross sectional study conducted among 150 antenatal women from October 2014 to April 2015. Data containing socio-demographic details, vitamin D level, serum calcium, pregnancy complications and growth situation of newborns were collected and analyzed.Results: A total 150 pregnant women participated in the study, 75.3% were vitamin D deficient, 22.1% vitamin D insufficient and 2.6% normal. There was no significant adverse maternal outcome. NICU admission was required in 28.3 and 15.2% in the vitamin D deficient and insufficient groups respectively.Conclusions: Women from different socioeconomic status, irrespective of parity and educational levels had vitamin D deficiency and insufficiency. This study fails to show a relation of vitamin D deficiency with other high-risk factors of pregnancy and does not show any adverse fetal outcome

    Paleoclimatic and diagenetic history of the Late Quaternary sediments in a core from the Southeastern Arabian Sea: geochemical and magnetic signals

    Geochemical and rock-magnetic investigations were carried out on a sediment core collected from the SE Arabian Sea at 1420 m depth in oxygenated waters below the present-day oxygen minimum zone. The top 250 cm of the core sediments represent the last 35 kaBP. The δ18O values of Globigerinoides ruber are heaviest during the Last Glacial Maximum (LGM) and appear unaffected by low-saline waters transported from the Bay of Bengal by the strong northeast monsoon and West Indian coastal current. The signatures of Bølling-Allerød and Younger Dryas events are distinct in the records of magnetic susceptibility, organic carbon (OC) and δ 18O. Glacial sediments show higher OC, CaCO3, Ba, Mo, U and Cd, while the early-to-late Holocene sediments show increasing concentrations of OC, CaCO3, Ba, Cu, Ni and Zn and decreasing concentrations of Mo, U and Cd. Productivity induced low-oxygenated bottom waters and reducing sedimentary conditions during glaciation, and productivity and oxygenated bottom waters in the Holocene are responsible for their variation. The core exhibits different stages of diagenesis at different sediment intervals. The occurrence of fine-grained, low-coercivity, ferrimagnetic mineral during glacial periods is indicative of its formation in organic-rich, anoxic sediments, which may be analogous to the diagenetic magnetic enhancement known in sapropels of the Mediterranean Sea and Japan Sea. The glacial sediments exhibiting reductive diagenesis with anoxic sedimentary environment in this core correspond to reductive diagenesis and intermittent bioturbation (oxygenation) reported in another core in the vicinity. This suggests that the poorly oxygenated bottom water conditions during glacial times should not be generalized, but are influenced locally by productivity, sedimentation rates and sediment reworking
