    The empirical studies undertaken on academic culture in Iran suggest an inefficient academic acculturation and students alienation from the structure and process of a desired academic culture. A sense of powerlessness, normlessness, anomie, social isolation and in general strangement from the self, educational processes, unverrsity camp, academic staff members and also from other students is increasingly growing in the minds and feelings of a considerable number of higher education students in humanities and social sciences. Drawing on a mixed methodology, the following paper aims to reconstruct the phenomenology of academic and educational alienation based on students personal lived experience and narrativity. Apart from accounting for internal and external social factors affecting this experience, we have proposed a typology of the types of alienation experienced by different groups of students and the strategies they have adopted to counter it. Results suggest that alienation is directly affected by culture politics and involves different social, psychological, and economic consequences in their lives

    Development of New Potassium Carbonate Sorbent for CO2 Capture under Real Flue Gas Conditions

    In this paper, the development of a new potassium carbonateon alumina support sorbent prepared by impregnating K2CO3 with an industrial grade of Al2O3 support was investigated. The CO2 capture capacity was measured using real flue gas with 8% CO2 and 12% H2O in a fixed-bed reactor at a temperature of 65 °C using breakthrough curves. The developed sorbent showed an adsorption capacity of 66.2 mgCO2/(gr sorbent). The stability of sorbent capture capacity was higher than the reference sorbent. The SO2 impurity decreased sorbent capacity about 10%. The free carbon had a small effect on sorbent capacity after 5 cycles. After 5 cycles of adsorption and regeneration, the changes in the pore volume and surface area were 0.020 cm3/gr and 5.5 m2/gr respectively. Small changes occurred in the pore size distribution and surface area of sorbent after 5 cycles

    Preparation of a Low-Cost KCO/AlO Sorbent for CO Capture at Flue-Gas Operating Conditions

    In this study, the efficiency of a low-cost K 2 CO 3 /Al 2 O 3 sorbent as a CO 2 capture support was investigated. The sorbent was prepared by impregnating K 2 CO 3 on industrial-grade Al 2 O 3 . The CO 2 capture capacity of the sorbent was calculated from the breakthrough curve of the CO 2 adsorption inside a fixed-bed reactor, in the presence of H 2 O and at an adsorption temperature of 60 °C. An adsorption capacity of 75.4 mg CO 2 /g of sorbent was obtained. The stability of capture capacity of the sorbent was higher than that of the reference sorbent. The changes in the pore volume and surface area were 0.020 cm 3 /g and 5.5 m 2 /g, respectively, after five cycles of adsorption and regeneration. However, there were minor changes in the pore-size distribution and surface area of the sorbent after five cycles. This sorbent can be considered to be used in large-scale applications

    An Association of Human Papillomaviruses Low Risk and High Risk Subtypes with Skin Tag

    Abstract Objective(s) Human papillomavirus (HPV) infections are related to the genesis of various benign lesions and some malignant tumors, but no clear relationship has been identified so far between the subtypes of HPV and skin tag. Materials and Methods The present case-control study was designed to detect the existence of low risk and high risk HPV types in lesions of 50 patients with skin tag (case group) and normal skin around the melanocytic nevus of 30 patients (control group), using PCR. Results All of the samples were negative for HPV subtypes, except two samples in control group which were positive for high risk HPV. There was no significant relationship between the HPV subtypes and skin tag. Conclusion There is no association between skin tag and low risk and high risk human papillomaviruses

    بررسی سوء مصرف مواد و استعمال سیگار در بیماران مبتلا به کووید-19 و غیر کووید-19 در شهر کاشان

    مقدمه: کرونا یکی از بزرگترین مشکلات بهداشتی در جهان است. مطالعات نشان می دهد که افراد سیگاری یا معتادان در برابر این ویروس، آسیب پذیرتر هستند. مطالعه حاضر فراوانی استعمال دخانیات و سوء مصرف مواد را در بین بیماران مبتلا به کووید-19 و سایر بیماران مورد ارزیابی قرار داد.روش‌ کار: در این پژوهش 1400 شرکت‌کننده از شهر کاشان (700 بیمار در گروه کووید-19 و 700 نفر در گروه غیرکووید-19) وارد مطالعه شدند. سپس پرسشنامه تشخیص اعتیاد (ASSIST) را تکمیل کردند و اعتیاد آنها با کیت تشخیصی آزمایش شد. داده ها با استفاده از آزمون های تی مستقل، مجذور خی، آزمون دقیق فیشر و SPSS نسخه 17، تحلیل شدند.یافته‌ها: شیوع مصرف سیگار و مصرف مواد، در گروه کووید-19 به ترتیب 4/19 درصد و 4/4 درصد (به ترتیب 0/23 درصد و 2/9 درصد در گروه غیر کووید-19) بود. تفاوت معنی داری در مصرف سیگار بین دو گروه مشاهده نشد (229/0P=) .نتایج نشان داد که فراوانی مصرف کنندگان مواد در گروه کووید-19 به طور معنی داری کمتر بود (008/0P=).  نتیجه‌گیری: نتایج حاضر نشان داد که شیوع استعمال دخانیات در بیماران مبتلا به کووید-19 تفاوت معنی‌داری با سایر بیماران ندارد. جالب توجه است که شیوع سوء مصرف مواد در میان شرکت کنندگان مبتلا به کووید-19 به طور قابل توجهی کمتر از سایر بیماران بود. از آنجایی که انتظار می رفت تعداد افراد سیگاری یا مصرف کننده مواد در بین بیماران مبتلا به کووید-19 بیشتر باشد، علت این تضاد، نامشخص است و برای روشن شدن ابعاد مختلف آن به مطالعات بیشتری نیاز است
