Theory of electromagnon in the multiferroic Mn perovskites: Vital role of higher harmonic components of the spiral spin order

We study theoretically the electromagnon and its optical spectrum (OS) of the terahertz-frequency regime in the magnetic-spiral-induced multiferroic phases of the rare-earth (R) Mn perovskites, RMnO3, taking into account the elliptical deformation or the higher harmonics of the spiral spin configuration, which has been missed so far. A realistic spin Hamiltonian, which gives phase diagrams in agreement with experiments, resolves a long standing puzzle, i.e., the double-peak structure of the OS with a larger low-energy peak originating from magnon modes hybridized with the zone-edge state. We also predict the magnon branches associated with the electromagnon, which can be tested by neutron-scattering experiment.Comment: 5 pages, 4 figure

For a long time, the autonomous governments of the Dai（傣） people ruled by indigenous chiefs, known as Sawbwa or Tusi （土司）, existed in southwest China. However, these autonomous governments were in the process of decline and collapse in the nineteenth and twentieth centuries. This article also studies this process, focusing on the change of the traditional system of the tolls named Gangyin （崗銀） in the territories of Nandian, Kanai and Zhanda Sawbwas in the Tengyue Sub-Prefecture. Traditionally, the Nandian, Ganai and Zhanda Sawbwas had forced the Gangyin Toll upon Chinese merchants in their territories and, in return, they had guaranteed the safe-guarding of roads. However, in mid-nineteenth century the disorder and the civil war in China-Proper spread over this frontier area and the Gangyin Toll system was no longer effective. The authorities and merchant-gentry in Tengyue established the Trade Protection Office（保商局） to secure Yunnan-Burma trade. In 1890s, this office gained control over trade routes and Sawbwas renounced the rights to collect the Gangyin Toll instead receiving a monthly stipend also called Gangyin. After the establishment of the Custom House in Tengyue in 1902, although the payment of Sawbwas stipends continued, it was stipulated that the value of compensation for robbery in a Sawbwa\u27s territory would be deducted from his stipend. Consequently, the financial and political autonomies of the three Sawbwas were weakened by this process.論

本研究では，まず「高校までの学校段階と大学との様々なギャップに対し，多くの大学1回生が入学後に強い戸惑いや困難を感じること」を「大1コンフュージョン」と命名した。その上で，予備調査では，大1コンフュージョン【大学生活全般】31項目，大1コンフュージョン【一人暮らし】8項目を収集した。本調査では，それら39項目の平均値および，ASD（自閉スペクトラム症）困り感，ADHD（注意欠如・多動症）困り感との関連について検討した。平均値の結果から，大学1回生は，相対的に授業履修や学習面に対して戸惑いや困難が高く，学習面以外の大学生活全般に対しては相対的に低い結果が示された。それに対し，発達障がい困り感との関連結果から，特にASD困り感の強い学生は，授業履修や学習面よりも，それ以外の大学生活全般に対して，より戸惑いや困難を感じやすい結果が示された

Rapidly Destructive Arthrosis of Bilateral Humeral Heads Caused by Subchondral Insufficiency Fracture

The bilateral shoulder pain of an 81-year-old Japanese woman due to falls persisted despite celecoxib treatment, and plain X-rays later showed bilateral collapsed humeral heads. After ruling out osteoarthritis, infectious arthritis, crystal-induced arthritis, neuropathic arthropathy, and osteonecrosis, we diagnosed bilateral shoulder joint rapidly destructive arthrosis (RDA). Lumbar bone mineral density showed very low T-score (−4.1). Primary osteoporosis was observed. Histology of biopsied humeral head indicated the features of fracture healing process: callus formation and osteoclasts without empty lacunae. Her history thus included an insufficiency fracture due to severe osteoporosis. Bilateral humeral head replacement was performed; her shoulder joint function improved. This case is extremely rare in that RDA was caused by simultaneous bilateral shoulder joint collapse within a very short time, with minimal or low mechanical stress and severe osteoporosis

Support for Parents in Disaster Areas of “Heavy Rain in July Heisei 30” Effects of Parent Program for Parents who Need Support in Raising Their Children.

「平成30年7月豪雨」は，西日本を中心に多大な被害をもたらした。大災害で被災した子どもたちの心は長期にわたって影響を受けることが知られているが，子どもたちへの支援を考える上では，その保護者への支援も欠かせない。本研究では，平成30年7月豪雨の際に特に被害の大きかった地域において，被災から4か月後の11月に，子育てに支援が必要な保護者を対象としてペアレント・プログラムを実施すると共に，情報交換会を行った。全6回のプログラムを実施した結果，大半の参加者の抑うつ得点が低下した。今後，有事の際での事後的な支援対応だけではなく，平常時から孤立しがちな保護者への支援体制を予防的に構築しておくことが求められる
