    INVESTIGATING THE ROLE OF TEACHER-LIBRARIANS IN CLASSROOM INSTRUCTIONAL MANAGEMENT IN ENUGU STATE, NIGERIA

    This study was carried out to investigated the role of teacher-librarians in classroom instructional management in Enugu State, Nigeria. The descriptive survey design was adopted for the study. The sample size of the study is 1,196 teachers. The instrument used for data collection was the Classroom Management Instructional Skills for Teaching Questionnaire (CMISTQ). The reliability of the instrument was 0.79. The data collected in the study were analyzed using mean and standard deviation. The findings of the study show that the role of teacher-librarians in classroom instructional management include: working with other staff to ensure information literacy outcomes are a major school focus; being involved in curriculum planning and school curriculum committees; raising staff awareness of the need for pupils to acquire information skills and of the importance of resource-based learning in developing these skills; promoting the use of the information process as a framework for the development of information skills and as the basis for systematic monitoring of pupils\u27 development as information users; among others. Based on the findings, the researchers recommended that teacher-librarians should be given ample opportunity to participate in classroom instructional planning and management

    Extent of Student-Counsellors\u27 Satisfaction with Library Services offered at the University of Nigeria, Nsukka

    This study was designed to investigate the extent of student-counsellors\u27 satisfaction with library services offered at the University of Nigeria, Nsukka. The study is a descriptive survey comprising all the full-time undergraduate student-counsellors at the University of Nigeria, Nsukka, from the first year to final year. A structured questionnaire was used for obtaining data. The findings showed that there was a high extent of student-counsellors’ satisfaction with the registration, lending, shelving, renewal/replacement and reserve services offered by the university library. There is a need to take regular feedback from the students regarding the various services provided by the library

    Perception, Utilization and Purposes of Using Cyberspace Information Resources and Services by Postgraduate Students

    This study was carried out to investigate postgraduate students’ perception, utilization and purposes of using cyberspace information resources and services in five federal universities in southwest Nigeria. The descriptive research design was adopted for this study. The purposive sampling technique was used to select a sample size of 1058 postgraduate students from five federal universities. Instrument for data collection include a well-structured questionnaire. The study witnessed a 95% return rate of the distributed questionnaire. The study used mean score () and Standard Deviation (SD) for data analysis. Results revealed that postgraduate students use cyberspace information resources and services for research purposes. The results also revealed that PG students’ perception of cyberspace information resources and services were positive. Results showed that there is no significant difference in the mean ratings of male and female postgraduate students on the utilization of cyberspace information resources and services for research in federal universities in southwest Nigeria. Also, it was found that there is no significant difference in the mean ratings of male and female PG students on the perception of cyberspace information resources and services used for research in federal universities in southwest Nigeria. Results further revealed that there is no significant difference in the mean ratings of male and female PG students on the purposes of using cyberspace information resources and services in federal universities in Southwest Nigeria. The study recommended that university should consider other means of generating funds as the need for further research increase daily, internet connection be improved and extended without limitation
