    知的特別支援学校小学部児童の社会性の発達を目指して : ムーブメント教育・療法を取り入れた集団活動での取組

    This research aims to promote the development of sociality among children with mental disability in the elementary division of a special education school by implementing activities that involve movement education and therapy. Changes in development of the six children enrolled in the elementary division were measured using the Movement Education and Therapy Program Assessment-Revised (hereinafter referred to as MEPA-R). The initial MEPA-R was conducted to ascertain he children\u27s current level of ability. Assessment results were evaluated via profile and cross index charts. Once the children\u27s strengths and weaknesses were clarified, group activities suitable to their current level that targeted weaker areas were formulated. Activities were held seven times over a one-month period. Then, a second MEPA-R was conducted and results from both were compared and examined. Results showed increases in ability level in various categories for three of the children. The other three children showed almost no change in ability to perform tasks in any category. However, this clearly shows that referring to the MEPA-R results to determine class activities and teaching can lead to a positive change in development for ASD children and that there is variation in the way tasks were accomplished related to characteristics of different disabilities. The implementation period for this study was very short, involving only a small number of students, so further study is necessary with a longer duration of continuous implementation among a larger student population of students

    Investigation of guidance on maintaining visual acuity at combined school from kindergarten to junior high school.: Consideration of relationship between visual acuity and lifestyle

    The negative effect of visual acuity for growing children led by widely use of IC device such as mobile phone is concerned today. Heavy use of electronic device such as PC in early age will bring poor visual acuity, and an inconvenience in exercise caused by wearing glasses. In this study, we used wearable devise to search relations between daily lives of children and a decrease in vision in add to a preexisting questionnaire. Compared with the duration of watching TV and reading books of PVA( Poor visual acuity) and NPVA(Non poor visual acuity), PVA students were turned out to be using more time in doing, which supports previous studies. The relevance to visual acuity and sleep was clarified to be significantly shorter in NPVA in terms of nocturnal awakening, and also the average of a sleep and a deep sleep duration were longer in NPVA. No significant difference was observed due to the small parameter. From now on, the further work is needed to examine child's sleep conscientiously, including enriching health guidance for sight maintenance

    噛ミング30学習による小学生の咀嚼の習慣と口腔内状態に関する介入研究

    The aim of this study was to investigate the relationship between chewing behavior and oral conditions in elementary school children based on an intervention study. The subjects were allocated into an intervention group (5th grade students, n=81) and a control group (5th grade students, n=39) in 2 elementary schools in Tokushima Prefecture, Japan. Eating habits were self-reported using a questionnaire in both groups. The PMA index (Schour-Massler index) of each subject in the intervention group was assessed. The school lunch program “Chewing 30” was performed 5 times per year using a chewing counter. After the completion of the program, a significant difference in behavior change regarding “sufficient chewing” was observed between the intervention and control groups (p<0.01). The participants in the intervention group were sub-divided into 2 groups based on the change of “sufficient chewing”. The PMA index of the non-improved group significantly increased (p<0.05), while that of the improved group showed no significant difference. These results suggest an association between insufficient chewing behavior and gingival inflammation in elementary school children. The program “Chewing 30” might be effective to prevent gingival inflammation in addition to promoting sufficient chewing. 本研究では,小学生の咀嚼習慣と口腔内状態との関連性を介入研究にて調査することを目的とした.  徳島県内にある2つの小学校のうち,1校の5年生(81名)を介入群とし,他校の5年生(39名)をコントロール群として,食習慣に関する保健調査を実施した.介入群では,児童それぞれのPMA index(Schour-Massler index)を評価した.さらに,1年間を通して計5回学校給食時に咀嚼計を用いた「噛ミング30学習」を実施した.  介入終了後,“よく嚙む” 項目においてコントロール群と介入群では有意な差が認められた(p<0.01).“よく嚙む” 項目の変化の有無により,介入群を2つのグループに分類した.“よく嚙む” 項目の非改善群ではPMA index中央値が有意に増加していた(p<0.05)が,改善群ではPMA index中央値の増加は認められなかった.  これらの結果は,小学生において,不十分な咀嚼習慣と歯肉の炎症に関連性があることを示している.「噛ミング30学習」は,よく嚙むことを促すだけでなく,歯肉炎の予防にも効果がある可能性が示唆された

    Conditional deletion of Npt2b in phosphate transport

    Background Hyperphosphatemia is common in chronic kidney disease and is associated with morbidity and mortality. The intestinal Na+-dependent phosphate transporter Npt2b is thought to be an important molecular target for the prevention of hyperphosphatemia. The role of Npt2b in the net absorption of inorganic phosphate (Pi), however, is controversial. Methods In the present study, we made tamoxifen-inducible Npt2b conditional knockout (CKO) mice to analyze systemic Pi metabolism, including intestinal Pi absorption. Results Although the Na+-dependent Pi transport in brush-border membrane vesicle uptake levels were significantly decreased in the distal intestine of Npt2b CKO mice compared with control mice, plasma Pi and fecal Pi excretion levels were not significantly different. Data obtained using the intestinal loop technique showed that Pi uptake in Npt2b CKO mice was not affected at a Pi concentration of 4 mM, which is considered the typical luminal Pi concentration after meals in mice. Claudin, which may be involved in paracellular pathways, as well as claudin-2, 12, and 15 protein levels were significantly decreased in the Npt2b CKO mice. Thus, Npt2b deficiency did not affect Pi absorption within the range of Pi concentrations that normally occurs after meals. Conclusion These findings indicate that abnormal Pi metabolism may also be involved in tight junction molecules such as Cldns that are affected by Npt2b deficiency

    Efficacy and safety of single-dose ivermectin in mild-to-moderate COVID-19: the double-blind, randomized, placebo-controlled CORVETTE-01 trial

    BackgroundTo investigate whether ivermectin inhibits SARS-CoV-2 proliferation in patients with mild-to-moderate COVID-19 using time to a negative COVID-19 reverse transcription-polymerase chain reaction (RT-PCR) test.MethodsCORVETTE-01 was a double-blind, randomized, placebo-controlled study (August 2020–October 2021) conducted in Japan. Overall, 248 patients diagnosed with COVID-19 using RT-PCR were assessed for eligibility. A single oral dose of ivermectin (200  μg/kg) or placebo was administered under fasting. The primary outcome was time to a negative COVID-19 RT-PCR test result for SARS-CoV-2 nucleic acid, assessed using stratified log-rank test and Cox regression models.ResultsOverall, 112 and 109 patients were randomized to ivermectin and placebo, respectively; 106 patients from each group were included in the full analysis set (male [%], mean age: 68.9%, 47.9 years [ivermectin]; 62.3%, 47.5 years [placebo]). No significant difference was observed in the occurrence of negative RT-PCR tests between the groups (hazard ratio, 0.96; 95% confidence interval [CI] 0.70–1.32; p = 0.785). Median (95% CI) time to a negative RT-PCR test was 14.0 (13.0–16.0) and 14.0 (12.0–16.0) days for ivermectin and placebo, respectively; 82.1% and 84% of patients achieved negative RT-PCR tests, respectively.ConclusionIn patients with COVID-19, single-dose ivermectin was ineffective in decreasing the time to a negative RT-PCR test.Clinical Trial RegistrationClinicalTrials.gov, NCT04703205
