Therapeutic effects of Urtica dioica L: A review study

Urticadioicais an herbaceousperennialflowering plant in the family Urticaceae. It is native to Europe, Asia, northern Africa, and western North America, and introduced elsewhere.The aim of this study was to overview therapeutic effects of Urtica dioica L. This review article was carried out by searching studies in PubMed, Medline, Web of Science, and Iran Medex databases .The initial search strategy identified about 115 references. In this study,59studies was accepted for further screening and met all our inclusion criteria [in English, full text, therapeutic effects of Urtica dioica L. and dated mainly from the year 1990 to 2016.The search terms were "Urtica dioica L", "therapeutic properties", "pharmacological effects". It is commonly used for its Antioxidant properties ,Bone formation properties ,Nutrients properties Hypoalgesia , Anti-Liver damage , Testicular tissue treatment effect ,Inflammatory properties ,Protease activity ,Analgesic effect , Anti-Fungal properties ,Modulatory effect , Cardiovascular effects ,Anti-cancer effect ,Herbicidal effects , Adipogenesis effect. Urtica dioica L.is used for the treatment of various diseases. Due to its remarkable power of healing, this plant has got the place among the top ranked evidence based herbal medicines. This is also revealed that most of the therapeutic properties of this plant are due to the presence of linoleic acid which is major bioactive component of the essential oil. The present review is an effort to provide a detailed survey of the literature on scientific researches of pharmacognostical characteristics, chemical composition and pharmacological activities of this plant

Chelidonium Majusto the plant family of Asteraceae, native to temperate Asia, but naturalized in many countries including scattered parts of North America. The aim of this study was to overview its Anti-Malarial properties, Immunosuppressive properties, Anti-inflammatory properties, Anti-cancer properties. This review article was carried out by searching studies in PubMed, Medline, Web of Science, and IranMedex databases .The initial search strategy identified about 98 references. In this study,46 studies was accepted for further screening and met all our inclusion criteria [in English, full text, therapeutic effects of Chelidonium majusand dated mainly from the year up to 2016.The search terms were "Artemisia annua", "therapeutic properties", "pharmacological effects". It was said to be good for cancer treatment. Anti-tumor effect, Anti-microbial effect, Hepato-toxicity, Antioxidant effect, Hepatocarcinogenesis effect, Apoptogenic activity effect, Proapoptotic activity effect, Immunomodulatory activity effect, The antimitotic effects, Chemical integrity effect, Anti-inflammatory and analgesic activities effect, Oxidative stress effect, Inflammation effect, Proinflammatory effect, Skin problem effect, Liver effect, Antigenicity and ant ovalbumin effect, Inhibition of the serotoninergic system effect. Chelidonium majusused for the treatment of various diseases and possess lots of effects. In this study, Antioxidant effect, Anti-inflammatory and anti-cancer properties of this plant are presented using published articles in scientific sites. Besides, it was said to be good for skin problem treatment

Solanum nigrum: A review study with anti-cancer and antitumor perspective

Solanum nigrum or locally just black nightshade is a species in the Solanum genus, native to Eurasia and introduced in the Americas, Australasia, and South Africa. While this plant has lots of properties, the aim of this study is to overview its therapeutic effects of Solanum nigrum. This review article was carried out by searching studies in PubMed, Medline, Web of Science, and IranMedex databases from 1998 to 2016.totally, of 93 found articles, 60 articles were included. The search terms were "Solanum nigrum", "therapeutic", "pharmacological", Various studies have shown that Solanum nigrum Possess Anti-Tumor effect, Anti-Cancer Activity, Hepatoprotective Effect, Anti-fungal effect, Anti -larvicidal effect, Anti-Stress effect, Antioxidative effect, Antiallergic effect, Estrogenic activity. Although Solanum nigrum have a long history of medicinal use within the traditional Chinese system, it has been only recently in the West that we have begun to understand their pharmacological possibilities. Solanum nigrum has a wide range of potential therapeutic applications in anti-cancer and anti-tumor activities

Chemistry and pharmacological effect of beta vulgaris: A systematic review

Beta vulgaris is a plant native to Mediterranean, the Atlantic coast of Europe, the Near East, and India belong to Amaranthaceae, Genus Beta, and Subfamily Betoideae. The aim of this study is to overview Chemistry and pharmacological effect of beta vulgaris .This review article was carried out by searching studies in PubMed, Medline, Web of Science, and IranMedex databases up to 2016.Among 89 found articles, 54 articles were included. The search terms were "Beta vulgaris", "therapeutic", and "pharmacological", "Chemistry". Various studies have shown that Beta vulgaris possess anti-inflammatory effect, antioxidant Properties, anti-stress effect, anti-Anxiety and anti-depressive effect, anti-cancer, antihypertensive effect, hydrophobic properties, anti-sterility effects. The result of this study have found various constituents of Beta vulgaris exhibit a variety of therapeutic effects with little or no associated toxicity. These results are very encouraging and indicate this herb should be studied more extensively to confirm these results and reveal other potential therapeutic effects. Clinical trials using Beta vulgaris for a variety of conditions should also be conducted
