The purpose of this article is to reflect on production, organization and tradition of autograph collections since the beginning until the end of the nineteenth century. In particulary, these collections, considered by the classical archival science only such one of the principle causes of destruction of the archives and as the result of the collectors’ craze that pervaded Europe in that turn of years, were used as a kind of archives, where historians could find all sorts of records, performing a para-archivistical function in absence of the availability of public archives, also influencing the methods of the archival arrangement.Lo scopo di questo articolo è di riflettere sulla produzione, organizzazione e tradizione delle collezioni pubbliche e private di autografi dall'inizio dell'Ottocento fino alla fine del secolo. In particolare, queste raccolte, considerate dalla dottrina archivistica classica soltanto come una delle principali cause di distruzione degli archivi e come il frutto delle manie collezionistiche che pervasero l'Europa in quel torno di anni, svolsero una funzione para-archivistica in mancanza della disponibilità di archivi pubblici, fino almeno al compimento del processo della loro apertura agli studi storici, influenzando anche le metodologie di ordinamento degli archivi

Pedagogical Models Of Surface Mechanical Wave Propagation In Various Materials

We report on a teaching approach oriented to the understanding of some relevant concepts of wave propagation in solids. It is based on simple experiments involving the propagation of shock mechanical waves in solid slabs of various materials. Methods similar to the generation and propagation of seismic waves are adopted. Educational seismometers, interfaced with computers, are used to detect and visualize the shock waves and to analyse their propagation properties. A qualitative discussion of the results concerning the propagation and the attenuation of the waves allows us to draw basic conclusions about the response of the matter to solicitation impacts and their propagation
