The booming economy influenced by the World War I caused thus the population growth of urban areas and an increase of industrial laborers. The Rice market in the Kanto region has been expanding due to the country\u27s population growth and the improving living standards that have accompanied its rapid economic expansion. The rice problem was going to be very serious. In 1898, therefore, the Japanese Government started to promote rice production, which made Taiwanese rice increasingly important. The Feng-lai rice quickly gained popularity in Japan and helped to solve Japan\u27s rice shortage problems. This paper analyzes the process of the Taiwanese rice exports to the Kanto region during the Japanese period

After the Russo-Japanese War, the Japanese took possession of Karafuto andobtained the fishery rights to Primorskaya Oblast’, one of the world’s important fisheries.Since salt is an ancient and important method for preserving food, prosperous fisheriesconsumed enormous amounts of salt. With the success of transit trade, British andSpanish salt acquired a large share of the market at the time. After 1905, however, theJapanese Government started to promote salt production, which made Taiwanese saltincreasingly important. This paper will reveal the process of the Taiwanese salt exportsto Primorskaya Oblast\u27 and Karafuto during the Japanese period

Since the beginning of the Japanese rule in Taiwan (1895), the colonial government sought the way how to increase rapidly the rice production in order to satisfy not only the fundamental requirement of local people but also the urgent need of Japanese population. And as a result, the great demand of rural manpower and the expansion of land area of paddy field were absolutely necessary for the rice cultivation. In fact, the basis of paddy rice production in Taiwan had been established before the 19th century and the island gained a high reputation for the abundant supply of rice to her islanders and even to the inhabitants of China Fujian. This paper is aimed to discuss on the one hand, the question concerning the development of agricultural population and on the other hand, the expansion of the land area of paddy field in Taiwan under Japanese colonial rule.東アジアの歴史と動

The State-of-the-Art Practices of the Internet Banking in Taiwan

    Get PDF
This paper reports an investigation into the state-of-the-art practices of Internet banking in Taiwan. Emphasis is focused on the adoption of security technology. Three kinds of security utilities—SSL, SET, and Non-SET—are compared in terms of risks and supported functions. The author also analyzes factors that influence the development of Internet banking. The Ministry of Finance of the Taiwanese government has adopted a policy that fosters the development of Internet banking. However, understanding security technologies demands in-depth expert knowledge, and goes beyond the capacity of general citizens. The authors suggest that the first priority is given to the authority’s promulgation of laws and guidelines. Second, the banking industry needs to integrate the security mechanisms of Internet banking services with the existing environment. Finally, a risk allotment policy would help to remove fear and doubt from customer’s minds

    Osteoblast-Osteoclast Communication and Bone Homeostasis

    Get PDF
Bone remodeling is tightly regulated by a cross-talk between bone-forming osteoblasts and bone-resorbing osteoclasts. Osteoblasts and osteoclasts communicate with each other to regulate cellular behavior, survival and differentiation through direct cell-to-cell contact or through secretory proteins. A direct interaction between osteoblasts and osteoclasts allows bidirectional transduction of activation signals through EFNB2-EPHB4, FASL-FAS or SEMA3A-NRP1, regulating differentiation and survival of osteoblasts or osteoclasts. Alternatively, osteoblasts produce a range of different secretory molecules, including M-CSF, RANKL/OPG, WNT5A, and WNT16, that promote or suppress osteoclast differentiation and development. Osteoclasts also influence osteoblast formation and differentiation through secretion of soluble factors, including S1P, SEMA4D, CTHRC1 and C3. Here we review the current knowledge regarding membrane bound- and soluble factors governing cross-talk between osteoblasts and osteoclasts

THE EFFECT OF MACH DRILLS TRAINING ON THE START MOVEMENT OF IN-LINE SPEED SKATING

The purpose of this study was to analyze the relative muscle activation of the start movement and the Mach Drills training program. 5 in-line skating players participated in the study and 9 Wireless EMG sensors were placed over the rectus femoris, biceps femoris, semitendinosus, tibialis anterior, gastrocnemius, peroneus longus, adductor magnus, tensor fascia lata, and gluteus maximus. Results showed that significantly lower gastrocnemius IEMG value in skating. However, it also showed that RF, TA, and PL had higher IEMG value in skating and significant difference was found for TA. Another muscle activation didn’t have significantly difference. It suggested that athletes had to increase more specific training program for rectus femoris muscle and peroneus longus muscle which play an important roles for start movement in skating
