Poultry raising in recent decades developed into a significant economic sector. Contemporary production are high-quality meat and eggs to feed all the people. Eggs of domestic poultry are most appreciated food product and are an important and rich source of protein, vitamins and minerals. The great advantage of the egg as food is good digestibility. The aim is to conduct an analysis of production technology and results of egg colored shell for consumption proveniences Isabrown, in the course of a production cycle on the farm "Natura", Bosnia and Herzegovina (Serbian Republic). Based on analysis of the applied technologies of production on the farm, as well as the production of the results, we can conclude that if the farm operates, and whether it is in accordance with the norms of the selecionera hybrids.Živinarstvo se posljednjih decenija razvilo u značajnu privrednu granu.

Intensive poultry production enables high reproductive ability of poultry, fast growth, short generation interval and a high degree of food utilization. For such intensive production, it is necessary to provide the best possible feed mixture, completely balanced the needs of production, with, at the same time takes into account the cost-effectiveness of the same, that is, production profitable. It is a known fact that the diet most important / most expensive paragentski factor that has a direct impact on production. The aim of the study was to determine the feed consumption per week of production and correlation of age hens of commercial flock of Lohmann Brown, grown on the farm DOO "Rakic Commerce" Batkovic - Bijeljina, and living utoška food per hen and living utoška food per egg for four age groups: SN20 , SN28, SN48 and SN72. For that period daily feed consumption per hen was slightly higher than the norm, but the consumption of food produced per egg was at a high level. By calculating the correlation of phenotypic correlation between age hens and daily food consumption per hen and egg produced can be concluded that in this particular case is justified hens used in the production of table eggs about 12 months.Intenzivnu živinarsku proizvodnju omogućavaju visoka reproduktivna sposobnost živine, brz porast, kratak generacijski interval i visok stepen iskorišćavanja hrane.

When growing broiler breeder important to achieve the highest possible production of eggs, with minimal mortality hens and roosters, and that the smaller daily feed consumption per head, or produced breeding egg. To determine production characteristics of broilers Cobb 500 parents conducted research on the flock through the 38 weeks of production. During the study are accompanied by the following production parameters: the mortality of parents and the intensity of load hatching eggs, it is also the goal of this work. Based on the results obtained during the research, in terms of production traits, it can be concluded that investigated the parent flock of heavy hybrid Cobb 500 proved satisfactory genetic potential in relation to the regulations Breeders Cobb 500.Prilikom gajenja brojlerskih roditelja bitno da se ostvari što veća proizvodnja jaja, uz minimalna uginuća nosilja i pijetlova, kao i da je što manja dnevna potrošnja hrane po grlu, odnosno proizvedenom priplodnom jajetu.

Gal-3 plays an important pro-inflammatory role in the induction phase of acute colitis by promoting activation of NLRP3 inflammasome and production of IL-β in macrophages

BACKGROUND AND AIMS: Galectin-3 [Gal-3] is an endogenous lectin with a broad spectrum of immunoregulatory effects: it plays an important role in autoimmune/inflammatory and malignant diseases, but the precise role of Gal-3 in pathogenesis of ulcerative colitis is still unknown. METHODS: We used a model of dextran sulphate sodium [DSS]-induced acute colitis. The role of Gal-3 in pathogenesis of this disease was tested by evaluating disease development in Gal-3 deficient mice and administration of Gal-3 inhibitor. Disease was monitored by clinical, histological, histochemical, and immunophenotypic investigations. Adoptive transfer was used to detect cellular events in pathogenesis. RESULTS: Genetic deletion or pharmacological inhibition of Gal-3 significantly attenuate DSS-induced colitis. Gal-3 deletion suppresses production of pro-inflammatory cytokines in colonic macrophages and favours their alternative activation, as well as significantly reducing activation of NOD-like receptor family, pyrin domain containing 3 [NLRP3] inflammasome in macrophages. Peritoneal macrophages isolated from untreated Gal-3(-/-) mice and treated in vitro with bacterial lipopolysaccharide or DSS produce lower amounts of tumour necrosis factor alpha [TNF-α] and interleukin beta [IL-1β] when compared with wild type [WT] cells. Genetic deletion of Gal-3 did not directly affect total neutrophils, inflammatory dendritic cells [DCs] or natural killer [NK] T cells. However, the total number of CD11c+ CD80+ DCs which produce pro-inflammatory cytokines, as well as TNF-α and IL-1β producing CD45+ CD11c- Ly6G+ neutrophils were significantly lower in colons of Gal-3(-/-) DSS-treated mice. Adoptive transfer of WT macrophages significantly enhanced the severity of disease in Gal-3(-/-) mice. CONCLUSIONS: Gal-3 expression promotes acute DSS-induced colitis and plays an important pro-inflammatory role in the induction phase of colitis by promoting the activation of NLRP3 inflammasome and production of IL-1β in macrophages

Postsurgical fat necrosis is a frequent finding in abdominal cross-sectional imaging. Epiploic appendagitis and omental infarction are a result of torsion or vascular occlusion. Surgery or pancreatitis are conditions that can have a traumatic and ischemic effect on fatty tissue. The imaging appearances may raise concerns for recurrent malignancy, but percutaneous biopsy and diagnostic follow-up assist in the accurate diagnosis of omental infarction. Herein we describe a case of encapsulated omental necrosis temporally related to gastric surgery. Preoperative CT and MRI findings showed the characteristics of encapsulated, postcontrast nonviable tumefaction in the epigastrium without clear imaging features of malignancy. Due to the size of the lesion and the patient’s primary disease, tumor recurrence could not be completely ruled out, and the patient underwent surgery. Histopathological analysis confirmed the diagnosis of steatonecrosis of the omentum

Lepenski Vir, located in the Iron Gates region (SE Serbia), is a well-known site for its monumental sculptures and numerous trapezoidal houses dated to the Mesolithic/Early Neolithic period, c. 6200-5900 cal BC. Absolute dates indicate that prehistoric communities have been inhabiting the site in wider chronological span, c. 9400-7600 cal BC, but they hadn´t left extensive material remains. Detailed raw material and techno-typological analysis of knapped stone industry were undertaken by Kozłowski and Kozłowski (1984). However, recent revisions of Lepenski Vir material and documentation have required a new examination of the chipped stone artefacts and the implementation of advanced methods. New analysis included a vast study of the techniques used for knapping, as well as crossing the raw material and technotypological data with the contexts of the artefact origin and the use-wear analysis. The results drew attention to houses 32, 35 and 36 regarding the quantity and technological characteristics of grey flint artifacts. Our attention here is drawn to explore the activities performed in the house 32, where the only one retouched artefact – a perforator was uncovered while other stone remains indicate that grey flint was knapped while blanks of Balkan and grey flint with white spots were stored and used. Use-wear analysis of the proposed sample consisted both from artefacts coming from ashplace but also from house floor was conducted and indicates variety of used materials and activities, and also implies the presence of thermal stress on some of the artefacts. Interesting is that some of the tools have traces of a complex nature, e.g. they were used for divergent activities in different periods, indicating the character of the house 32 itself. There is presence of activity on mineral material and working on large fish, which was a very important part of human diet of prehistoric communities of Lepenski Vir

Introduction: Biliary ileus is a rare emergency condition that mainly affects the elderly population, with a predominance of females and a mortality rate of 12-27%. It is a mechanical intestinal obstruction caused by the impaction of the biliary calculus within the gastrointestinal tract. It occurs due to the formation of bilio-enteric fistula, as a rare complication of cholelithiasis. Case report: A 73-year-old male patient with epigastric pain, nausea and vomiting was referred for ultrasound exam. The analysis of the clinical-biochemical status of the patient as well as the ultrasound examination of the abdomen itself raised the suspicion of small intestine obstruction, due to the enclaved biliary calculus. After an urgent exploratory laparotomy, the diagnosis was confirmed, and enterotomy was successfully performed with calculus extraction. Cholecysto-duodenal fistula has been confirmed as a major cause of biliary ileus. The post-operative course was uneventful. Conclusion: This case report highlights the enormous importance of ultrasound diagnostics in diagnosing biliary ileus using the criteria of The Rigler Triad, which includes pneumobilia, intestinal obstruction and ectopic calculus. Initialy unrecognisied cause of obstruction and a late diagnosis correlated with bad prognosis. Ultrasonographic examination of these patients, can be a sufficient diagnostic modality in making an accurate diagnosis and further surgical treatment of these patients
