Chemical sensing of dangerous gases based on a 4G drone platform

The aim of this Bachelor¿s thesis is to design a circuit capable of measuring different types of gases that are hazardous to human health and the environment. This circuit will be mounted on a drone that will measure in real time and in motion (horizontally and vertically) the gases mentioned in this project, this allows a mapping of areas with high levels of pollution at any time, such as a small and portable system allows you to decide the area to be measured each time you lift the drone. The first chapter is devoted to the preliminary study of the different types of pollution and gases that are considered harmful to health and the environment, as well as the technologies available to measure these gases and whether they meet the requirements for our project. The second chapter does a thorough research and investigation of the sensors available on the market to use in the design of the circuit and taking into account the available sensors, the gases that we can measure. It also describes the operation of various components required for circuit conditioning (LMP91000), as well as the information packets (JSON packets) that the microcontroller will manage to send the data measured during the flight. The third chapter details the design and operation of the circuit, as well as the different components that are considered essential for the proper operation of the circuit. Finally, the fourth chapter consists of the different tests that have been carried out on the different components that make up the circuit to conclude the feasibility of building the prototype. In this project the design of the circuit has been done in the Kicad tool but the prototype has not been built. Tell My Mother I Gone to Cuba: Stories of Early Twentieth-Century Migration from Barbados

Barbadians were among the thousands of British West Indians who migrated to Cuba in the early twentieth century in search of work. They were drawn there by employment opportunities fueled largely by US investment in Cuban sugar plantations. Tell My Mother I Gone to Cuba: Stories of Early Twentieth-Century Migration from Barbados is their story. The migrants were citizens of the British Empire, and their ill-treatment in Cuba led to a diplomatic tiff between British and Cuban authorities.The author draws from contemporary newspaper articles, official records, journals and books to set the historical contexts which initiated this intra-Caribbean migratory wave. Through oral histories, it also gives voice to the migrants\u27 compelling narratives of their experience in Cuba.
