The investigation objects are the thin transparent films and multilayer interferention covers for the power laser systems. The heat model for damage of the thin transparent films in case of presence of the heavy-absorbing heterogeneities in them has been confirmed. A number of the general regulations on the beam damage of the dielectric covers depending on their physical-technological parameters and design has been determined; the character of changing damage thresholds depending on the pulse parameters has been determined; the basic parameters of the dangerous microheterogeneities in structure of the typical dielectric mirrors have been revealed. The reference-analytical book has been created. The work results were used in a number of the optic enterprises for production of the covers with increased beam strengthAvailable from VNTIC / VNTIC - Scientific & Technical Information Centre of RussiaSIGLERURussian Federatio
