Vizualno ispitivanje stanja motora zrakoplova
U radu je obraÄena primjena vizualne metode, preciznije boroskopije, u ispitivanju komponenata turboventilatorskog motora (CFM56-5B), tijekom planiranog pregleda zrakoplova. Boroskopija se primjenjuje u raznim ispitivanjima stanja unutraÅ”njosti cijevovoda, lopatica rotora, komora za izgaranje, plinskih cilindara, malih spremnika, itd., gdje je teÅ”ko provesti ispitivanje golim okom ili jednostavnim optiÄkim pomagalima. Velika prednost boroskopije je kontrola odreÄenog dijela bez potrebe za rastavljanjem cijelog motora ili dijela konstrukcije zrakoplova, Å”to oduzima puno vremena i poveÄava troÅ”kove održavanja. Prikazane su procedure i naÄini izvoÄenja boroskopije na svim pozicijama motora, s detaljnijim osvrtom na izvoÄenje ispitivanja lopatica visokotlaÄne turbine te analizu dobivenih rezultata (detekcije nepravilnosti u strukturi materijala)
Interleukin-6 Polymorphism and Prostate Cancer Risk in Population of Eastern Croatia
Recent studies suggest that chronic inflammation is crucial in the development and progression of prostate cancer (CaP). Interleukin-6 (IL-6) is a proinflammatory cytokine that plays an important role in intraprostatic inflammation and thus carcinogenesis. The ā174G>C polymorphism of IL-6 gene has been associated with high IL-6 producer pheno- type and an increased risk for CaP . The aim of this study was to evaluate the association between the mentioned IL-6 polymorphism and CaP risk, as well as to compare the genotype frequency between the different tumour grades of CaP , in population of Eastern Croatia. We analyzed the IL-6 polymorphism in 120 CaP patients and 120 controls with benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH). CaP patients and BPH controls did not statistically differ in studied IL-6 polymorphism. Furthermore, high IL-6 producer genotypes (GG or GC) were more frequent in controls than in CaP group (86.7% vs 80.8%, respectively, p=0.147). Also, no statistically significant difference in IL-6 high and low producer genotype fre- quency was noticed between well, moderately and poorly differentiated tumours. Our results, taken together with other studies on the subject, suggest that IL-6 ā 174 single nucleotide polymorphism (SNP) distribution may differ between various ethnic groups and that a single cytokine gene polymorphism has probably just a minor effect on CaP susceptibil- ity. Further studies should be performed to clarify the link between SNPs of different cytokines and the risk for CaP
CYSTINE UROLITHIASIS: RECOMMENDATIONS FOR DIAGNOSIS, TREATMENT AND RECURRENCE PREVENTION
Cistinska litijaza dijagnostiÄki je i terapijski izazov, a u naÅ”oj literaturi do sada nije bilo ujedinjenih prikaza kako valja postupati s ovakvim bolesnicima. Ovaj dokument rezultat je rasprava na tom sastanku uz nadogradnju nakon simpozija putem elektroniÄkih sjednica i ekspertno je miÅ”ljenje struÄnjaka. Nadamo se da Äe Älanak biti od praktiÄne koristi brojnim kolegama koji se susreÄu s problemom litijaze, a one koji to rjeÄe imaju prilike, podsjetit Äe na ovaj oblik kamenaca mokraÄnog sustava. Ovaj dokument namijenjen je primarno urolozima i nefrolozima, ali i svim opÄim internistima te lijeÄnicima obiteljske medicine jer Äe svima, vjerujemo, olakÅ”ati razmiÅ”ljanja kada se suoÄe s takvim bolesnikom.Cystine lithiasis is a diagnostic and therapeutic challenge. This consensus document has outgrown of discussion of experts in nephrology and urology. It is our hope that this document will be of use for all physicians who are facing this disturbing type of urolithiasis. So far, in our national literature there have been no comprehensive documents dealing with this entity and we believe that not only nephrologists and urologists will benefit, but also specialists in internal medicine and general practitioners
Utjecaj skladiŔtenja kontroliranom atmosferom na kvalitetu hrvatskih tradicionalnih sorti jabuke
The aim of this work was to investigate the influence of cold storage at 2Ā Ā°C for 180 days on water content, total acids, reducing and total sugar, antioxidant activity, polyphenol oxidase activity, and polyphenol profile of three Croatian traditional apple cultivars (āKanadska Renetaā, āIlzer Rosenapfelā, āWagenerā). A significant variation in polyphenol profile of apple cultivars under investigation was noted. The most represented polyphenols in all apple cultivars were procyanidin B2 followed by chlorogenic acid, epigallocatechin, epicatechin, and phloridzin. After storage, the content of procyanidin B2 and chlorogenic acid was higher, while content of epigallocatechin after storage was lower in all investigated apple cultivars. Water content before storage ranged between 79.17 and 80.76Ā %, and after storage between 75.62 and 78.56Ā %. Total acids, polyphenol oxidase activity, and flavonoids had decreased during storage, while reducing and total sugar content was higher after storage. Moreover, after storage, cultivar āKanadska Renetaā had the highest antioxidant activity measured by both ABTS and DPPH methods, 1.65 and 0.70Ā mmolĀ troloxĀ kgā1, respectively. A significant variation in polyphenol profile of apple cultivars under investigation was noted. The most represented polyphenols in all apple cultivars were procyanidin B2, followed by chlorogenic acid, epigallocatechin, epicatechin, and phloridzin. After storage, the content of procyanidin B2 and chlorogenic acid was higher, while content of epigallocatechin after storage was lower in all investigated apple cultivars. Overall, it can be concluded that investigated apple cultivars, after storage, preserved most of the antioxidants and functional properties.Cilj ovog rada bio je istražiti utjecaj skladiÅ”tenja kontroliranom atmosferom na 2Ā Ā°C tijekom 180Ā dana na polifenolni profil, sadržaj vode, ukupne kiseline, reducirajuÄe i ukupne Å”eÄere, antioksidacijsku aktivnost i aktivnost polifenol oksidaze triju hrvatskih tradicionalnih sorti jabuke (Ā“Kanadska Renetaā, āIlzer Rosenapfelā, āWagenerā). UoÄena je znaÄajna varijacija u profilu polifenola ispitivanih sorti jabuke. Najzastupljeniji polifenoli kod svih sorti jabuke bili su procijanidin B2, zatim klorogenska kiselina, epigalokatehin, epikatehin i floridzin. Nakon skladiÅ”tenja sadržaj procijanidina B2 i klorogenske kiseline bio je veÄi, dok je sadržaj epigalokatehina nakon skladiÅ”tenja bio manji kod svih ispitivanih sorti jabuke. Sadržaj vode prije skladiÅ”tenja kretao se izmeÄu 79,17 i 80,76Ā %, a nakon skladiÅ”tenja izmeÄu 75,62 i 78,56Ā %. Tijekom skladiÅ”tenja doÅ”lo je do smanjenja ukupnih kiselina, aktivnosti polifenol oksidaze i udjela flavonoida, dok je sadržaj ukupnih Å”eÄera bio veÄi nakon skladiÅ”tenja. Å toviÅ”e, sorta āKanadska Renetaā nakon skladiÅ”tenja imala je najveÄu antioksidacijsku aktivnost mjerenu ABTS i DPPH metodom, 1,65 odnosno 0,70Ā mmolĀ trolox/kgā1. UoÄena je znaÄajna varijacija u polifenolnom profilu ispitivanih sorti jabuke. Najzastupljeniji polifenoli kod svih sorti jabuke bili su procijanidin B2, zatim klorogenska kiselina, epigalokatehin, epikatehin i floridzin. Definition of Acetylsalicylic Acid Resistance Using Whole Blood Impedance Aggregometry in Patients Undergoing Coronary Artery Surgery
A beneficial effect of acetylsalicylic acid (ASA) on vein graft patency has been described, but some patients experience adverse cardiac events despite appropriate ASA treatment. Study aim was to define ASA resistance using Multiple elec- trode aggregometry (MEA) preoperatively in group of patients undergoing coronary artery bypass grafting (CABG). Pro- spective observational trial at University Hospital Center Zagreb enrolled 131 patients scheduled for CABG, and divided them into 4 groups with respect to preoperative antiplatelet therapy (APT). Group 1 received 100 mg ASA per day, Group 2 100 mg ASA + 75 mg clopidogrel per day, Group 3 75 mg clopidogrel per day, and Group 4 did not receive any APT. MEA with ASPI test (sensitive to ASA) and ADP test (sensitive to clopidogrel) was performed prior to surgery. In Group 1, patients were characterized as ASA resistant if their ASPI test value exceeded the 75 th percentile distribution. Study en- rolled 131 patients. Significant differences both in the ASPI (p<0.001) and the ADP test (p=0.038) were observed be- tween patients in different APT groups. In Group (1) ASPI test value of 30 AUC presented 75 th percentile of distribution, thus indicating ASA resistance. Group 2 patients had slightly lower ADP test values, but no significant difference oc- curred (mean 60.05 vs. 63.32 AUC, p=0.469). In Group 1 and 2, significant correlations between the ADP test and both, platelet count (r=0.347, p<0.001) and fibrinogen level (r=0.364, p<0.001) were observed. Association between low re- sponse to ASA and post-CABG major adverse ischemic events risk increase has been described thus indicating need for ASA resistant patients detection. In patients with preoperative ASPI test exceeding 30 AUC postoperative, ASA dose ad- justment or clopidogrel addition according to MEA results should be considered
Analiza reŔetkastih panela kompozitnih zrakoplovnih konstrukcija
Predmet ovog diplomskog rada je analiza ÄvrstoÄe i gubitka stabilnosti kompozitnog reÅ”etkastog panela. Rezultati reÅ”etkastog panela usporedit Äe se s rezultatima dobivenih iz analiza ÄvrstoÄe standardnih panela pri identiÄnom optereÄenju. TakoÄer, vrednovat Äe se moguÄnosti i uÄinkovitost analitiÄkog programa HyperSizer pri analizi i dimenzioniranju kompozitnog panela. U drugom poglavlju ukratko su navedeni povijest, primjena, prednosti i nedostaci reÅ”etkastih konstrukcija u zrakoplovstvu i svemirskim programima. TreÄe poglavlje podijeljeno je u Äetiri dijela. Sadrži opÄenite informacije o analitiÄkim izrazima i temeljne relacije na kojima je baziran rad programa HyperSizer. \Na kraju poglavlja opisani su kriteriji popuÅ”tanja analizirani u petom poglavlju. U Äetvrtom poglavlju opisani su modeli na kojima su se vrÅ”ile analitiÄke i numeriÄke analize. Zadana su optereÄenja i rubni uvjeti za dva promatrana sluÄaja. Dane su i glavne karakteristike ortotropnog kompozitnog materijala koriÅ”tenog u analizi. Peto poglavlje sadrži rezultate analiza, popraÄene zapažanjima i komentarima. \Na kraju je dan zakljuÄak s osvrtom na dobivene rezultate provedenih analiza
