Morphological and electrophoretic data of primary pulmonary fibroblasts cultures obtained from normal and Ovalbumin-Challenged“Asthmatic” Wistar rats treated by speleotherapy in Cacica and Dej Romanian Salt Mines,
Objective: To investigate the influence of salt mine medium from the Romanian Cacica and Dej Salt Mines upon the cell morphology and electrophoretic expression of pulmonary fibroblasts in vitro obtained from Wistar rats’ lung, in normal and Ovalbumin challenged “asthmatic” conditions.Materials and methods: Pulmonary fibroblasts cultures were prepared from Wistar rat lung. Cultures derived from lung rat develop with a monolayer of fibroblasts attached to the culture dish. Before cultures initiation, Wistar rats of 75-100 g weight were divided in two lots: control and ovalbumin challenged animals. Ten animals of each lot were send to Cacica and Dej Salt Mine for 14 days and maintained in the salt mine medium, as in speleotherapy treatment. Results: Speleotherapy of Wistar rats had induced significant differences in cell morphology and electrophoretic expression of primary pulmonary fibroblasts cultures. The data obtained support the protective effects of speleotherapy by comparing with ovalbumin sensibilised animals. Conclusions: The results of this study indicate the fact that speleotherapy induces changes on the morphology and protein expression of pulmonary fibroblasts in vitro, and these changes support the beneficial effects of speleotherapy
A Note on Doubly Warped Product Contact CR-Submanifolds in trans-Sasakian Manifolds
Warped product CR-submanifolds in Kaehlerian manifolds were intensively
studied only since 2001 after the impulse given by B.Y. Chen. Immediately
after, another line of research, similar to that concerning Sasakian geometry
as the odd dimensional version of Kaehlerian geometry, was developed, namely
warped product contact CR-submanifolds in Sasakian manifolds. In this note we
proved that there exists no proper doubly warped product contact
CR-submanifolds in trans-Sasakian manifolds.Comment: 5 Latex page
weight reduction by topology optimization of an engine subframe mount designed for additive manufacturing production
Abstract Additive Manufacturing (AM) technologies are getting more and more strategic for different purposes in many industrial fields. Among the most outstanding are part prototyping, single part to small batch production, relatively reduced manufacturing times and investments costs, reduced material consumption, and innovative and efficient shapes. The considerable advantages these technologies offer, compared to subtractive ones, make additive manufacturing a potentially industry-leading process in almost all domains - from aeronautics to the medical industry. Under these circumstances, the inspiration given by topology optimization tools can lead to feasible industrial parts, with fewer constraints in comparison to traditional manufacturing processes. The paper presents the development and the results obtained using topology optimization and design for AM technology on an automotive part: an engine mount sub-frame component for a rear middle engine sports car. The final design enables a significant weight reduction
Sindromul metabolic ca bază etiopatogenetică a aterosclerozei
Patologia cardiovasculară ocupă un loc dominant în
structura morbidităţii. O infl uenţă negativă asupra vieţii
omului o are ritmul înalt al progresului ştiinţifi co-tehnologic,
metabolic (SM). În particular, în copilărie şi adolescenţă
aceste modifi cări sunt puţin observate (hipertensiune
neînsemnată, masa corporală crescută, dislipidemie), dar
ulterior provoacă leziuni aterosclerotice ale organelor şi
sistemelor
Improving the vine crop technologies by using glycoside substances, under conditions of economic efficiency and environmental protection
Ecostim is a furostanol glycoside and represents a natural substance belonging
to the class of saponines (found in Lycopersicon esculentum seeds). This product was obtained
by alcoholic extraction from tomato seeds and represents a bioactive substance of vegetal
origin, having a wide range of biological activities, especially antiviral and antifungal
properties. The goal of this paper was to estimate the biological activity of the product. The
influence of the vegetal compound with steroidal glycoside structure was studied on the vine
plantation from the Iaşi vineyard. The treatments consisted in spraying the aqueous solution of
Ecostim, at different doses and ways of using. The results pointed out the favourable effects of
treatments on the plant growth and development, according to the phenological phase and used
concentration
Sustainability of the transport sector during the last 20 years: evidences from a panel of 35 countries
Between 1990 and 2015, the annual global amount of CO 2 emission generated by transport has increased by 68%, from around 4.6 GtCO 2 to around 7.7 GtCO2. Technological advances towards eco friendly vehicles and policy incentives promoting environmental friendly modes of transport have thus been offset by economic growth
and increasing mobility. This study questions the relationship between economic growth and sustainability performance of transport sector. It adds to the literature new insights concerning recent trends in the relationship between gross domestic product and various aspects of transport sustainability such as carbon footprint, carbon intensity and transport safety. A particular attention is given to discussing the emerging issues of “carbon inequality” and the role of political entities that contribute most to global CO2 emissions, such China, USA and the EU. Finally, this study adds to the literature a composite index of transport sustainability performance and explores between country inequalities in terms of sustainability performance
Research on the pigment content in various apple tree varieties, treated with capsicoside
Furostanol glycoside represents a natural substance belonging to the class of
saponines. Capsicoside , one of them, is found in Capsicum annuum seeds and it was obtained
by the alcoholic extraction from pepper seeds. It is a bioactive substance of vegetal origin,
having a wide range of biological activities, especially antiviral and antifungal properties. The
goal of the present paper was to promote this bioactive compound and to evaluate its biological
activity. The influence of the plant compound with steroidal glycoside structure was studied on
the plantation of apple trees. The treatments consisted in spraying the aqueous solution of
Capsicoside, at different doses and ways of using. The results of the experiments pointed out
the positive effects of the influence of steroidal glycosides on the growth and quality
development of apple trees
