Szczegółowa fotogrametria i skanowanie laserowe 3D sztuki naskalnej, badania geofizyczne i wykopaliska sondażowe przeprowadzone w Painted Hand Petroglyph Panel, ogromnym stanowisku ze sztuką naskalną w południowo-zachodniej części Kolorado w USA, ujawniły nowe informacje na temat sytuacji kulturowej na prekolumbijskim i historycznym Południowym Zachodzie Ameryki Północnej.Detailed photogrammetry and 3D laser scanning of rock art, geophysics research and sondage excavations conducted at the Painted Hand Petroglyph Panel, a large rock art site in south-western Colorado, USA, has revealed new information about the cultural situation in the pre-Columbian and historic North American Southwest

The influence of the Negro radicalism on fight with the problem of race in the United States in the years 1960-1970

Tematem pracy jest wpływ radykalizmu murzyńskiego na walkę z problemem rasowym w Stanach Zjednoczonych w latach 1960-1970. Celem pracy jest wykazanie, że radykalne organizacje murzyńskie wniosły istotny wkład do Ruchu Obrony Praw Obywatelskich. Po drugie będzie to ocena czy wkład ten był pozytywny czy negatywny. Jako środek do rozwiązania postawionego problemu po pierwsze omówione zostały podstawowe nurty murzyńskich ideologii i ruchów, które kształtowały się w Stanach Zjednoczonych od początku powstania problemu rasowego oraz przedstawienie typologii tych nurtów. Rozdział drugi porusza temat dylematu amerykańskiego w okresie wzmożonej aktywności Ruchu Obrony Praw Obywatelskich, głównie w latach 60 i 70 XX wieku. W tym samym rozdziale problem dylematu amerykańskiego jest dalej przedstawiony we kontekście współczesnym. Celem rozdziału jest pokazanie, że ruch integracjonistyczny odniósł jedynie niewielki sukces gdyż pominął kwestię rozwiązania problemu rasowego w świadomości białej części społeczeństwa amerykańskiego oraz problemy społeczne i ekonomiczne murzyńskiej mniejszości mieszkającej w gettach. Rozdział trzeci służy omówieniu głównych radykalnych organizacji w tym koncepcję Czarnej Władzy. W ostatnim rozdziale zajmujemy się podsumowaniem całej pracy i próbą odpowiedzi na postawiony problem by w zakończeniu zachęci do dalszego pogłębiania wiedzy na temat nie tylko murzyńskiego radykalizmu ale również całego problemu rasowego w Stanach Zjednoczonych.The theme of the work is the influence of radicalism on the Negro struggle with the problem of race in the United States in the years 1960-1970. The aim of the study is to demonstrate that radical Negro organizations have made significant contributions to the Civil Rights Movement. Secondly, it will assess whether the contribution was positive or negative. As a means to solve the given problem first we discussed the main trends of the Negro ideologies and movements that developed in the United States since the beginning of the problem of race and present a typology of these movements. The second chapter is about the American dilemma and its presence during the period of increased activity of the Civil Rights Movement, mainly in the 60s and 70s of XX century. In the same chapter the problem of the American dilemma is further illustrated in a contemporary context. The purpose of the chapter is to show that the integrationist movement suffered only a minor success and ignored the issue of solving the problem of race in consciousness of the white part of American society and the social and economic problems of the Negro minority living in ghettos. The third chapter is a discussion of the main radical organizations including the concept of Black Power. In the last chapter we sum up the whole work and attempt to answer the question posed in the beggining of this work. At the end we encourage the further deepening of knowledge about not only the Negro radicalism but also the whole problem of race in the United States

Corded Ware culture at Zagórze in the Middle Beskid (Polish West Carpathians)

In 2012, series of archaeological rescue excavations were carried out at Zagórze, due tothe construction of the Świnna Poręba retention reservoir on the Skawa River in Wadowice district (Lesser Poland voivodeship). During this research, in one of the excavated sites - no. 8 – a flint tool was discovered below the top of the slope in the diluvial cover, in the secondary position. The preliminary analysis showed that it is a so-called flame knife, characteristic tool of the Corded Ware culture. Sometime later, feature no. 894 was discovered, located approximately 35 meters from the aforementioned flame knife, at the top of the slope. Five fragments of pottery were found in this feature. Fourth of them have been classified as a fragments of CWC ceramics, including fragments of a beaker and an amphora. On the basis of these finds, as well as comparisons to other sites, two hypotheses were formulated regarding the nature of the discovered feature: a flat grave or a feature of a settlement character. The aim of this paper is to present a comprehensive analysis (including use-wear analysis of the flame knife) and interpretation of these discovered finds

The hoard of bronze objects from site 8 at Zagórze, Wadowice district

During rescue excavations carried out in 2012 in site 8 at Zagórze, Comm. Mucharz, Dist. Wadowice, a hoard of bronze objects was discovered, comprising a binocular brooch of the Strzebielinko type, three spiral bracelets made of thick bronze sheet of triangular cross-section, and three twisted necklaces with flattened and rolled ends. The deposit should be dated to HaD and linked with the Górnośląsko-Małopolska (Upper Silesian-Lesser Polish) group of the Lusatian culture. The spiral bracelets and the decoration featuring on the ends of one of the necklaces find the closest analogies in the hoard from Krásna Hôrka, Dist. Tvrdošín, in Slovakia. All metal objects originating from site 8 at Zagórze were subjected to chemical and technological analysis (XRF spectrometer of the Spectro-MIDEX type)
