Two Early Palindromic Peoms by Caliban
Hubert Phillips, English crossword puzzle and logic puzzle constructor, created at least two palindromic poems. The first one was featured in Bergerson\u27s Palindromes and Anagrams (page 94); it originally appeared in the Dogberry column in the London News Chronicle for Oct 16 1942. The second poem is found in the same column for May 1 1941
The Hidden Increase in Wage Inequality: Skill-biased and Ability-biased Technological Change
This study provides strong evidence for an increase in wage inequality induced by skillbiased technological change in the UK manufacturing industry between 1991 and 2006. Using individual level data from the BHPS and industry level data from the OECD, wage regressions are estimated which identify the eff ect of innovative activity on wages – the personal innovation wage premium – for university and less educated workers. Innovative activity is defi ned by R&D expenditure and patent applications to measure innovation input and innovation output, respectively. Using diff erent estimation methods for panel data, such as Fixed eff ects, Random eff ects, Mundlak and Hausman- Taylor models, additionally to pooled OLS allows controlling for both industry-specifi c and individual ability. Using R&D expenditure as a measure for innovative activity additionally provides evidence for ability-biased technological change while patent applications do not support this hypothesis.Wage inequality; skill-biased technological change; ability-biased technological change; United Kingdom

Classic Latin Palindromes
In his book Literary Frivolities; Fancies, Follies, and Frolics (London, 1880), William T. Dobson related the following medieval story (taken from Hone\u27s Everyday-Book) showing that his Satanic Majesty was a master of palindromic wordplay
Stubborn Rhymes
It is said that there is no word in English that rhymes with MONTH, but GRUNTH, an alternate spelling of granth, rhymes perfectly is one of its pronunciations. Other rhymes for that word are millionth, billionth, trillionth and zillionth
Neologisms for the New Millennium
My friend Lois Fischer refers to a one-sided conversation as a unisation. Another friend once suggested that affluential describes influence obtained by affluence. The filling of a book by negative reviews or poor promotion could be referred to as bibliocide. Comedic suicide could be called self-induced comicide. The act of home-wrecking could be a case of domicide
Best Anagrams and Antigrams
There are several criteria available for judging the quality of an anagram. To begin with, an anagram should be self-explanatory
