Thermal Stability and Rheological Properties of Polyethylene (PE)/Polyvinylchloride (PVC)/Wood Composites
This paper investigated the thermorheological properties, thermal properties and flame retardant properties of wood-plastic composites (WPCs). With the addition of wood flour (WF), the rheological behavior became complexity. The critical frequency of shear-thinning phenomenon of the melt viscosity was shifted toward lower value. The temperature dependence of elastic modulus, loss modulus became more serious with the addition of WF. The Cole-Cole plot indicated the existence of complex multi-phase structure in the WPC melt. The CONE calorimetry results showed that ammonium polyphosphate (APP) had good flame retardancy through promoting the formation of the intumescent carbon layer. The present study will supply good insight into the optimization of WPC formulation
Two halosesquiterpenes from Laurencia composita
Two new chamigrane sesquiterpenes, yicterpenes A (1) and B (2) each with an unprecedented halogenation at C-9 and a hemiketal unit at C-10, were isolated from the marine red algaLaurencia composita. The structures and absolute configurations of them were identified by NMR, ECD, and mass spectrometric methods as well as quantum chemical calculations. Compound 1 with a chlorination at C-9 was more active against some tested marine-derived organisms than 2 with a bromination at C-9.

Tectonic Proteins Are Important Players in Non-Motile Ciliopathies
Primary cilium is a ubiquitous, tiny organelle on the apex of the mammalian cells. Non-motile (primary) ciliopathies are diseases caused by the dysfunction of the primary cilium and they are characterized by diverse clinical and genetic heterogeneity. To date, nearly 200 genes have been shown to be associated with primary ciliopathies. Among them, tectonic genes are the important causative genes of ciliopathies. Tectonic proteins including TCTN1, TCTN2, and TCTN3 are important component proteins residing at the transition zone of cilia. Indeed, many ciliopathies have been reported to involve tectonics mutations, highlighting a pivotal role for tectonic proteins in ciliary functions. However, the specific functions of tectonic proteins remain largely enigmatic. Herein, we discuss the recent advances on the localization and structure of tectonic proteins and the functions of tectonic proteins. The increasing line of evidences demonstrates that tectonic proteins are required for ciliogenesis and regulate ciliary membrane composition. More importantly, Tectonic proteins play a vital role in the regulation of the Sonic Hedgehog (Shh) pathway; Tectonic deficient mice show the Shh pathway-related developmental defects. Tectonic proteins share similar functions including neural patterning and Gli3 processing but also each has a unique and indispensable role in the ciliogenesis and signaling pathways. At the same time, the mutations of tectonic genes are the causes of a serial of primary ciliopathies including Meckel-Gruber syndrome, Oral-facial-digital syndrome, and Joubert syndrome. Therefore, full understanding of functions of tectonic proteins will help to crack ciliopathies and improve life quality of patients by future gene therapy
N 2,N 2′-Bis(2-hydroxybenzylidene)-2,2′-bipyridyl-3,3′-dicarbohydrazide
In the title compound, C26H20N6O4, the two aroylhydrazone side groups exist as diastereomeres, both in the keto form in the crystal structure. The aroylhydrazone units support the molecular conformation through an intramolecular N—H⋯O hydrogen bond. Two molecules are connected into a centrosymmetric dimer by intermolecular N—H⋯N hydrogen bonds. These dimers are connected into chains along the a axis by intermolecular O—H⋯O hydrogen bonds. The combination of these hydrogen bonds results in layers in the bc plane. The layers are further linked by weak C—H⋯π contacts to form a three-dimensional network structure
6,6′-Dimethoxy-2,2′,3,3′,5-pentanitro-1,1′-biphenyl
In the axially chiral title compound, C14H9N5O12, the dihedral angle between the two benzene rings is 86.0 (8)°. In the crystal structure, the molecules display a two-dimensional framework formed by weak intermolecular C—H⋯O hydrogen bonds
Comparative analysis of newly identified rodent arteriviruses and porcine reproductive and respiratory syndrome virus to characterize their evolutionary relationships
Porcine reproductive and respiratory syndrome virus (PRRSV) has caused huge economic losses for the global pig industry, but its origins and evolution remain a mystery. In 2018, the genome sequences of seven arteriviruses isolated from rodents were determined, and here we publish new analysis showing that they may be ancestors of PRRSV. The sequence similarity of these viruses to PRRSV was ~60%, with shared genome organization and other characteristics, such as slippery sequences and C-rich motifs in nsp2, and a transactivated protein sequence in nsp1β. Codon usage basis analysis showed that PRRSV was closer to these rodent arteriviruses than lactate dehydrogenase-elevating virus (LDV) and they were both under pressure of natural selection. Evolutionary analysis revealed that four of the rodent arteriviruses shared the same genus with PRRSV, and were more closely related to PRRSV-2 than PRRSV-1. In addition to this, they all appeared earlier than PRRSV according to evolutionary modeling, and we speculate that they represent an intermediate step in the origin of PRRSV by arterivirus transmission from rodents to swine. Our in-depth analysis furthers our understanding of arteriviruses, and will serve as the basis for subsequent exploration of the evolution of PRRSV and other arteriviruses
Preoperative systemic immune-inflammation index-based nomogram for lung carcinoma following microwave ablation -a real world single center study
BackgroundThe preoperative inflammatory condition significantly influences the prognosis of malignancies. We aimed to investigate the potential significance of preoperative inflammatory biomarkers in forecasting the long-term results of lung carcinoma after microwave ablation (MWA).MethodThis study included patients who received MWA treatment for lung carcinoma from Jan. 2012 to Dec. 2020. We collected demographic, clinical, laboratory, and outcome information. To assess the predictive capacity of inflammatory biomarkers, we utilized the area under the receiver operating characteristic curve (AUC-ROC) and assessed the predictive potential of inflammatory biomarkers in forecasting outcomes through both univariate and multivariate Cox proportional hazard analyses.ResultsA total of 354 individuals underwent MWA treatment, of which 265 cases were included in this study, whose average age was 69.1 ± 9.7 years. The AUC values for the Systemic Inflammatory Response Index (SIRI) to overall survival (OS) and disease-free survival (DFS) were 0.796 and 0.716, respectively. The Cox proportional hazards model demonstrated a significant independent association between a high SIRI and a decreased overall survival (hazard ratio [HR]=2.583, P<0.001). Furthermore, a high SIRI independently correlated with a lower DFS (HR=2.391, P<0.001). We developed nomograms utilizing various independent factors to forecast the extended prognosis of patients. These nomograms exhibited AUC of 0.900, 0.849, and 0.862 for predicting 1-year, 3-year, and 5-year OS, respectively. Additionally, the AUC values for predicting 1-year, 3-year, and 5-year DFS were 0.851, 0.873, and 0.883, respectively.ConclusionSIRI has shown promise as a valuable long-term prognostic indicator for forecasting the outcomes of lung carcinoma patients following MWA
A simulation study on the measurement of D0-D0bar mixing parameter y at BES-III
We established a method on measuring the \dzdzb mixing parameter for
BESIII experiment at the BEPCII collider. In this method, the doubly
tagged events, with one decays to
CP-eigenstates and the other decays semileptonically, are used to
reconstruct the signals. Since this analysis requires good separation,
a likelihood approach, which combines the , time of flight and the
electromagnetic shower detectors information, is used for particle
identification. We estimate the sensitivity of the measurement of to be
0.007 based on a fully simulated MC sample.Comment: 6 pages, 7 figure
Three Bianthraquinone Derivatives from the Mangrove Endophytic Fungus Alternaria sp. ZJ9-6B from the South China Sea
Three new bianthraquinone derivatives, alterporriol K (1), L (2) and M (3), along with six known compounds were obtained from extracts of the endophytic fungus Alternaria sp.
