Towards an integrated approach of building-data management through the convergence of building information modelling and internet of things

This contribution presents a possible use of the Building Information Model (BIM) for the implementation of Building Management Systems (BMS) and proposes tools and methods for each critical step of the process. The resulting designed process enables each building stakeholder to work at an earlier stage on the digital model located on a dedicated server. Le Service de l’Inventaire du Patrimoine culturel et sa documentation

Créé en 1965, le Service régional de l’Inventaire a réuni depuis cette date, grâce à ses enquêtes sur le terrain, une documentation très considérable sur l’architecture et l’art dans l’ensemble de l’Alsace (Strasbourg et Colmar excepté). Elle l’a fait connaître par des publications (46 ouvrages). D’autre part, les résultats des enquêtes par communes sont consultables sous forme de copieux classeurs, comprenant une identification du patrimoine, largement illustrée, accompagnée de relevés et de reproduction de documents anciens, soit près de 20 000 dossiers d’édifices, 22 000 dossiers d’objets mobiliers, 275 000 photographies. Les fiches historiques et descriptives issues de ce recensement sont accessibles en ligne, sur le site du ministère de la Culture, en partie accompagnées d’illustrations. Created in 1965, the Alsatian Inventory “Service régional de l’Inventaire” has produced, since that time, thanks its investigations on place, a very considerable documentation on architecture and art throughout the Alsace (except Strasbourg and Colmar). This documentation became known through publications (46 books). On the other hand, the results of the investigations are available in the form of records, including an identification of heritage, widely illustrated, accompanied by plans and reproduction of ancient documents, nearly 20000 records on buildings, 22000 records on movable objects, 275000 photographs. The historical and descriptive notices from this survey are also available online at the website of the Ministry of Culture, partly accompanied by illustrations.Das im Jahr 1965 gegründete Amt „Service régional de l’Inventaire“ hat seit diesem Zeitpunkt durch seine Untersuchungen vor Ort eine sehr umfangreiche Dokumentation über die Architektur und die Kunst des Elsass zusammengebracht (Straßburg und Colmar ausgenommen). Sie hat durch Veröffentlichungen (46 Bände) zu deren Kenntnis beigetragen. Andererseits werden die Ergebnisse der Untersuchungen in Form von Dossiers vorgestellt. Sie enthalten eine Identifizierung des Kulturerbes mit zahlreichem Bildmaterial, begleitet von Planaufnahmen und von Kopien alter Dokumenten, insgesamt etwa 20000 Dossiers über Gebäuden, 22000 Dossiers über Objekten, 275000 Photographien. Phase equilibria of aqueous solutions of formaldehyde and methanol: Improved approach using UNIQUAC coupled to chemical equilibria

The study of the phase equilibria involving formaldehyde is still relevant because of its presence in new processes where biomass is the raw material. The coupling between physical phase equilibria and chemical reactions makes its thermodynamic description a challenging task. In this work, an improved approach using UNIQUAC coupled to chemical equilibria was developed and compared with experimental data from the literature. The first application was done for the phase equilibria of the formaldehyde–water system and distribution of oligomers in the liquid phase was computed. The second and the third applications respectively considered the phase equilibria of the formaldehyde–methanol system and the formaldehyde–water–methanol system

Novel High-Speed Polarization Source for Decoy-State BB84 Quantum Key Distribution over Free Space and Satellite Links

To implement the BB84 decoy-state quantum key distribution (QKD) protocol over a lossy ground-satellite quantum uplink requires a source that has high repetition rate of short laser pulses, long term stability, and no phase correlations between pulses. We present a new type of telecom optical polarization and amplitude modulator, based on a balanced Mach-Zehnder interferometer configuration, coupled to a polarization-preserving sum-frequency generation (SFG) optical setup, generating 532 nm photons with modulated polarization and amplitude states. The weak coherent pulses produced by SFG meet the challenging requirements for long range QKD, featuring a high clock rate of 76 MHz, pico-second pulse width, phase randomization, and 98% polarization visibility for all states. Successful QKD has been demonstrated using this apparatus with full system stability up to 160 minutes and channel losses as high 57 dB [Phys. Rev. A, Vol. 84, p.062326]. We present the design and simulation of the hardware through the Mueller matrix and Stokes vector relations, together with an experimental implementation working in the telecom wavelength band. We show the utility of the complete system by performing high loss QKD simulations, and confirm that our modulator fulfills the expected performance.Comment: 21 pages, 8 figures and 2 table
