    Get PDF
With the continuous development of e-commerce, more and more types of goods are sold online, so merchants should develop different sales strategies for different types of goods. This paper firstly selects 15 variables to build a stepwise regression model. In the analysis of influencing factors on sales of products in different categories, we find that there are significant differences in the impact of the number of appended reviews and pictures reviews on the sales of utilitarian and hedonic products. In the analysis of influencing factors on sales of products in the same category, we find that the factors influencing the sales of different clothing products are also different to some extent. At last, we put forward some suggestions on adjusting price and title length, and writing product details. This paper is more detailed in variable selection and product classification than some previous studies. It is meaningful for merchants to optimize sales plans and improve product sales

The Role of Internet Search Index for Tourist Volume Prediction Based on GDFM Model

    Get PDF
Tourist volume is increasing with the expansion of the scale of tourism, and improving the prediction of tourist volume is helpful for tourism managers to make decisions. Internet search index can be applied to predict the behavior of users, which is widely used in the study of tourist volume prediction and infectious disease prediction. However, the high dimension and correlation of Internet search index tends to reduce the accuracy of the models, which increases the average prediction error of common time-series models. The dynamic factor model (DFM) proposed in our study can be used to solve the problem. This study selects 23 variables and introduces the generalized dynamic factor model (GDFM) to predict tourist volume. The model cannot only reduce the dimensionality of high-dimensional Internet search index data, but also reflects the dynamic correlation between Internet search index data. The results show that the prediction accuracy is improved in our method, and the prediction accuracy of tourist volume is improved by over 10%, with an average error of only 4.3% when compared with the neural network (NN) model. Our study not only provides implications for decision-makers to predict tourist volume timely and accurately, but also helps companies understand tourist’ behavior and make the best strategic decisions

This paper explores using generative AI and aesthetics to promote cultural creativity in rural China amidst COVID-19's impact. Through literature reviews, case studies, surveys, and text analysis, it examines art and technology applications in rural contexts and identifies key challenges. The study finds artworks often fail to resonate locally, while reliance on external artists limits sustainability. Hence, nurturing grassroots "artist villagers" through AI is proposed. Our approach involves training machine learning on subjective aesthetics to generate culturally relevant content. Interactive AI media can also boost tourism while preserving heritage. This pioneering research puts forth original perspectives on the intersection of AI and aesthetics to invigorate rural culture. It advocates holistic integration of technology and emphasizes AI's potential as a creative enabler versus replacement. Ultimately, it lays the groundwork for further exploration of leveraging AI innovations to empower rural communities. This timely study contributes to growing interest in emerging technologies to address critical issues facing rural China.Comment: Accepted by 2023 the 1st International Conference on AI-generated Content (AIGC2023

Lightweight conductive graphene/thermoplastic polyurethane foams with ultrahigh compressibility for piezoresistive sensing

    Get PDF
Lightweight conductive porous graphene/thermoplastic polyurethane (TPU) foams with ultrahigh compressibility were successfully fabricated by using the thermal induced phase separation (TISP) technique. The density and porosity of the foams were calculated to be about 0.11 g cm−3 and 90% owing to the porous structure. Compared with pure TPU foams, the addition of graphene could effectively increase the thickness of the cell wall and hinder the formation of small holes, leading to a robust porous structure with excellent compression property. Meanwhile, the cell walls with small holes and a dendritic structure were observed due to the flexibility of graphene, endowing the foam with special positive piezoresistive behaviors and peculiar response patterns with a deflection point during the cyclic compression. This could effectively enhance the identifiability of external compression strain when used as piezoresistive sensors. In addition, larger compression sensitivity was achieved at a higher compression rate. Due to high porosity and good elasticity of TPU, the conductive foams demonstrated good compressibility and stable piezoresistive sensing signals at a strain of up to 90%. During the cyclic piezoresistive sensing test under different compression strains, the conductive foam exhibited good recoverability and reproducibility after the stabilization of cyclic loading. All these suggest that the fabricated conductive foam possesses great potential to be used as lightweight, flexible, highly sensitive, and stable piezoresistive sensors

Therapeutic Mechanisms of Berberine to Improve the Intestinal Barrier Function via Modulating Gut Microbiota, TLR4/NF-κ B/MTORC Pathway and Autophagy in Cats

    Get PDF
BackgroundInflammatory bowel disease (IBD), a disease that seriously harms human and animal health, has attracted many researchers’ attention because of its complexity and difficulty in treatment. Most research has involved rats and dogs, and very little was cats. We should know that gut microbiota varies significantly from animal to animal. Traditional Chinese Medicine and its monomer component have many advantages compared with antibiotics used in pet clinics. Numerous studies have shown berberine (berberine hydrochloride) therapeutic value for IBD. However, the specific mechanism remains to consider.ResultsWe assessed gut pathology and analyzed fecal bacterial composition using Histological staining and 16S rRNA sequence. Dioctyl sodium sulfosuccinate (DSS) administration destroyed intestinal mucosal structure and changed the diversity of intestinal flora relative to control. RT-PCR and western blot confirmed specific molecular mechanisms that trigger acute inflammation and intestinal mucosal barrier function disruption after DSS treatment. And autophagy inhibition is typical pathogenesis of IBD. Interestingly, berberine ameliorates inflammation during the development of the intestinal by modulating the toll-like receptors 4 (TLR4)/nuclear factor kappa-light-chain-enhancer of activated B cells (NF-κB) signaling pathway and activating autophagy. Berberine significantly reduces tumor necrosis factor α (TNF-α), interleukin (IL)-6, and IL-1β expression in cats’ serum. Enhancing the antioxidant effect of IBD cats is one of the protective mechanisms of berberine. We demonstrated that berberine repairs intestinal barrier function by activating the mammalian target of rapamycin (mTOR) complex (MTORC), which inhibits autophagy.ConclusionBerberine can restore intestinal microbiota homeostasis and regulate the TLR4/NF-κB pathway, thereby controlling inflammatory responses. We propose a novel mechanism of berberine therapy for IBD, namely, berberine therapy can simultaneously activate MTORC and autophagy to restore intestinal mucosal barrier function in cats, which should be further studied to shed light on berberine to IBD

Electrocaloric effect in ferroelectric ceramics with point defects

    Get PDF
The electrocaloric effect has drawn much attention due to its potential application in cooling devices. A negative electrocaloric effect is predicted to be induced in defect-doped ferroelectrics by computational results [A. Grunebohm and T. Nishimatsu, Phys. Rev. B 93, 134101 (2016) and Ma et al., Phys. Rev. B 94, 094113 (2016)], but it need to be confirmed by experimental results. In this work, we prepared a 1mol. % Mn-doped Pb(Zr0.2,Ti0.8)O3 ceramics (Pb((Zr0.2,Ti0.8)0.99,Mn0.01)O3), and the electrocaloric effect of the defect-containing ferroelectric ceramics has been investigated by both direct and indirect methods. The indirect method shows a similar negative electrocaloric effect signal as the computational results predicted, while the direct method gives a positive electrocaloric effect. The absence of the negative electrocaloric effect obtained by the direct method may originate from: (a) the unavailability and the improper prediction of the Maxwell relation, (b) an improper assumption of fixed defects in the computational models, and (c) the offset of heat loss due to the application of a large electric field. In addition, we find a giant positive electrocaloric effect of 0.55K at room temperature in the aged ceramics where no phase transition takes place. We attribute this abnormal electrocaloric effect to the restoration force of the defect dipoles. Our results not only provide insights into the origin of the negative electrocaloric effect, but also offer opportunities for the design of electrocaloric materials

Overcoming Coulomb Interaction Improves Free-Charge Generation and Thermoelectric Properties for n-Doped Conjugated Polymers

    Get PDF
Molecular doping of organic semiconductors creates Coulombically bound charge and counterion pairs through a charge-transfer process. However, their Coulomb interactions and strategies to mitigate their effects have been rarely addressed. Here, we report that the number of free charges and thermoelectric properties are greatly enhanced by overcoming the Coulomb interaction in an n-doped conjugated polymer. Poly(2,2'-bithiazolothienyl-4,4',10,10'-tetracarboxydiimide) (PDTzTI) and the benchmark N2200 are n-doped by tetrakis (dimethylamino) ethylene (TDAE) for thermoelectrics. Doped PDTzTI exhibits similar to 10 times higher free-charge density and 500 times higher conductivity than doped N2200, leading to a power factor of 7.6 mu W m(-1) K-2 and ZT of 0.01 at room temperature. Compared to N2200, PDTzTI features a better molecular ordering and two-dimensional charge delocalization, which help overcome the Coulomb interaction in the doped state. Consequently, free charges are more easily generated from charge-counterion pairs. This work provides a strategy for improving n-type thermoelectrics by tackling electrostatic interactions

The impact of smoking and alcohol consumption on rosacea: a multivariable Mendelian randomization study

    Get PDF
BackgroundsObservational studies have shown that cigarette smoking is inversely associated with risk of rosacea, However, it remains uncertain whether this association is causal or it is a result of reverse causation, and whether this association is affected by drinking behaviors.MethodsThis study utilized the summary-level data from the largest genome-wide association study (GWAS) for smoking, alcohol consumption, and rosacea. The objective was to investigate the effect of genetically predicted exposures to smoking and alcohol consumption on the risk of developing rosacea. Two-sample bidirectional Mendelian randomization (MR) was applied, accompanied by sensitive analyses to validate the robustness of findings. Furthermore, multivariable MR was conducted to evaluate the direct impact of smoking on rosacea.ResultsA decreased risk of rosacea was observed in individuals with genetically predicted lifetime smoking [odds ratio (OR)MR − IVW = 0.53; 95% confidence interval (CI), 0.318–0.897; P = 0.017], and number of cigarettes per day (ORMR − IVW = 0.55; 95% CI, 0.358–0.845; P = 0.006). However, no significant associations were found between initiation of regular smoking, smoking cessation, smoking initiation, alcohol consumption and rosacea. Reverse MR analysis did not show any associations between genetic liability toward rosacea and smoking or alcohol drinking. Importantly, the effect of lifetime smoking and the number of cigarettes per day on rosacea remained significant even after adjusting for alcohol consumption in multivariable MR analysis.ConclusionSmoking was causally related to a lower risk of rosacea, while alcohol consumption does not appear to be associated with risk of rosacea

Ultrawideband Frequency-Selective Absorber Designed with an Adjustable and Highly Selective Notch

    Get PDF
In this paper, the working mechanism of a wideband absorber designed with an adjustable and highly selective notch band is studied, in which the narrow notch band is independently controlled by the lower lossless layer of the absorber, while the upper lossy layer loaded with lumped resistors realizes absorption. We present two instances with geometrically controlled and electrically controlled notch bands, respectively. Without decreasing absorption performance, the notch position can be flexibly adjusted throughout the entire frequency band by simply modifying the dimension of the lossless frequency-selective surface (FSS) or changing the capacitance of the varactor, i.e., using geometric control or electrical control. The narrow notch band allows two wide absorption bands to be retained on both sides; therefore, good stealth performance is still guaranteed. Equivalent circuit models (ECM) are proposed to further explain the principle. The frequency-domain simulation, ECM, time-domain simulation, and experimental results are in good agreement and validate the adjustability and high selectivity of the notched absorbers. At the end of this paper, an FSA-backed monopole antenna is simulated and measured, which clearly illustrates that these FSAs can serve as the ground plane for antennas and realize out-of-band RCS reduction
