Dynamic analysis of slider-crank mechanism with clearance fault

    Get PDF
In this paper, the dynamic behavior of the slider-crank mechanism with clearance fault is investigated. The revolute joint with clearance is equivalent to a virtual massless rod, and then the dynamic equation of the crank slider mechanism with clearance is established by the Lagrangian method. In addition, a three-dimensional dynamic model of the crank slider mechanism with clearance is also established by ADAMS. The numerical results show that the clearance affects the displacement and velocity response of the crank-slider mechanism in a weak way, but influences the acceleration response of the mechanism in a significant manner. Due to the existence of the clearance, the revolute joint of the mechanism produces a rub-impact phenomenon, and the larger the clearance, the greater the impact strength. During the rub-impact process, there are three kinds of motion states of separation, collision and contact occur

Dynamic analysis of reciprocating compressor system with translational clearance and time-varying load

Dynamic behavior of reciprocating compressor system, with translational clearance between the crosshead and guide under time-varying cylinder load, is investigated. In order to analyze the dynamic response of the system with translational clearance, a novel nonlinear dynamic model is established based on the Lagrangian approach. The numerical solution of the dynamic equation is calculated by the Runge-Kutta method. The results show that the translational clearance has a great effect on the reciprocating compressor, and the more the translational clearance, the great the influence. Moreover, the phase space of the crosshead reveals that the reciprocating compressor system with translational clearance has chaotic characteristics

Dynamic analysis of localized defects in rolling bearing systems

    Get PDF
In this paper, the dynamics of rolling bearing with localized defects of the outer ring and rolling element are investigated. In order to study the nonlinear dynamical behaviors of the rolling bearing precisely, a novel dynamic model of the rolling bearing is established based on the Lagrangian approach. By setting 0.2 mm, 0.4 mm and 0.6 mm local defects on the outer ring and rolling element of bearing respectively, the results demonstrate that the amplitude of the rolling bearing is more intense as the local defect size increases, and the acceleration amplitude fluctuation is more significant than the velocity. In addition, in the case of the same defect size, the vibration of the rolling element defect is more intense than the vibration response caused by the outer ring defect

Two-phase simulation of the pressure loss in helical channel

    Get PDF
The CFD simulations are carried out for the flows in a helical gas-liquid separator, which is installed at the inlet of the electric submersible pump (ESP) to separate gas from gas-liquid mixture and keep the efficiency of the pump. The effects of mass flux, curvature and helix angle on two-phase pressure drop have been investigated. Through theoretical analysis and numerical simulation, it is found that the mass flux of two-phase flow and the curvature of spiral passage have influence on pressure drop, while the spiral angle has little effect on pressure loss

A Parallel Local Reconnection Approach for Tetrahedral Mesh Improvement

    Get PDF
AbstractA multi-threaded parallel local reconnection algorithm is proposed for tetrahedral meshes. It defines a feature point within the region involved in each operation, and sorts the features points along a Hilbert curve. The decomposition of this Hilbert curve results in a load-balanced distribution of local operations. Meanwhile, the regions of concurrently executed local operations are separated far away, such that the possibility of interference is reduced to a very low level. Finally, a parallel mesh improver is developed by combining the proposed algorithm with a parallel mesh smoothing algorithm, and its effectiveness and efficiency is verified in various numerical experiments

Investigation and protection of fishery resources in the middle of Bohai Sea

    Get PDF
In May and October 2017, 12 stations were set up in the Central Bohai Sea for fishery resources investigation. The results show that there are many dominant species in this area, and the inshore fishery resources are higher than those in the open sea because of the abundant nutrients from land, the high density of zooplankton and the food of swimming animals. In order to effectively protect the fishery resources in the Central Bohai Sea, this paper puts forward some suggestions, such as strengthening the protection propaganda, scientific and reasonable fishing, and strengthening the management of marine environment

Living grass mulching improves soil enzyme activities through enhanced available nutrients in citrus orchards in subtropical China

Living grass mulching (LGM) is an important orchard floor management that has been applied worldwide. Although LGM can effectively enhance soil nutrient availability and fertility, its effects on microbial-mediated soil nutrient cycling and main drivers are unclear. Meanwhile, the variation of enzyme activities and soil nutrient availability with LGM duration have been rarely studied. This study aims to explore the effects of mulching age and soil layer on enzyme activities and soil nutrients in citrus orchards. In this study, three LGM (Vicia villosa) treatments were applied, i.e., mulching for eight years, mulching for four years, and no mulching (clean tillage). Their effects on the enzyme activities and soil nutrients were analyzed in different soil layers of citrus orchards in subtropical China, i.e., 0-10, 10-20, and 20-40 cm. Compared to clean tillage, mulching for four years had fewer effects on enzyme activities and soil nutrients. In contrast, mulching for eight years significantly increased available nitrogen (N), phosphorus (P) nutrients, β-glucosidase, and cellobiohydrolase activities in the soil layer of 0-20 cm. In the soil layer of 0-40 cm, microbial biomass carbon (C), N, P, N-acetylglucosaminidase, leucine aminopeptidase, and acid phosphatase activities also increased (P < 0.05). Mulching for eight years significantly promoted C, N, and P-cycling enzyme activities and total enzyme activities by 2.45-6.07, 9.29-54.42, 4.42-7.11, and 5.32-14.91 times, respectively. Redundancy analysis shows that mulching treatments for eight and four years had soil layer-dependent positive effects on soil enzyme activities. Microbial C and P showed the most significant positive correlation with enzyme activities, followed by moisture content, organic C, and available N (P < 0.05). Available nutrients contributed almost 70% to affect enzyme activities significantly and were the main drivers of the enzyme activity variation. In summary, LGM could improve soil enzyme activities by increasing available nutrients. The promotion effect was more significant under mulching for eight years. Therefore, extending mulching age and improving nutrient availability are effective development strategies for sustainable soil management in orchard systems. Our study can provide valuable guidelines for the design and implementation of more sustainable management practices in citrus orchards
