    Task Assignment and Path Planning for Multiple Autonomous Underwater Vehicles using 3D Dubins Curves

    This paper investigates the task assignment and path planning problem for multiple AUVs in three dimensional (3D) underwater wireless sensor networks where nonholonomic motion constraints of underwater AUVs in 3D space are considered. The multi-target task assignment and path planning problem is modeled by the Multiple Traveling Sales Person (MTSP) problem and the Genetic Algorithm (GA) is used to solve the MTSP problem with Euclidean distance as the cost function and the Tour Hop Balance (THB) or Tour Length Balance (TLB) constraints as the stop criterion. The resulting tour sequences are mapped to 2D Dubins curves in the X − Y plane, and then interpolated linearly to obtain the Z coordinates. We demonstrate that the linear interpolation fails to achieve G1 continuity in the 3D Dubins path for multiple targets. Therefore, the interpolated 3D Dubins curves are checked against the AUV dynamics constraint and the ones satisfying the constraint are accepted to finalize the 3D Dubins curve selection. Simulation results demonstrate that the integration of the 3D Dubins curve with the MTSP model is successful and effective for solving the 3D target assignment and path planning problem

    Prevalence of Neuropsychiatric Symptoms across the Declining Memory Continuum: An Observational Study in a Memory Clinic Setting

    Aims: The study aimed to compare the frequency of neuropsychiatric symptoms (NPS) across the declining memory continuum, from normal aging, subjective cognitive impairment (SCI), and mild cognitive impairment (MCI) to Alzheimer’s disease (AD), and to explore the clinical correlates of NPS. Method: In a memory clinic, 157 subjects (46 mild AD patients, 38 MCI individuals, 24 SCI subjects, and 49 normal controls) completed the neurobehavioral assessments with the Neuropsychiatric Inventory (NPI). The clinical significance of each NPI domain was defined as an item score ≥4. Result: Clinically significant depression was more common in the SCI than in the normal control group (p Conclusion: Across the declining memory continuum, the frequency of NPS was highest among mild AD patients. Depression, apathy, and aberrant motor behavior deserve more attention. Presence of apathy might be an independent determinant for mild AD

    Fuzzy multilayer clustering and fuzzy label regularization for unsupervised person reidentification

    Unsupervised person reidentification has received more attention due to its wide real-world applications. In this paper, we propose a novel method named fuzzy multilayer clustering (FMC) for unsupervised person reidentification. The proposed FMC learns a new feature space using a multilayer perceptron for clustering in order to overcome the influence of complex pedestrian images. Meanwhile, the proposed FMC generates fuzzy labels for unlabeled pedestrian images, which simultaneously considers the membership degree and the similarity between the sample and each cluster. We further propose the fuzzy label regularization (FLR) to train the convolutional neural network (CNN) using pedestrian images with fuzzy labels in a supervised manner. The proposed FLR could regularize the CNN training process and reduce the risk of overfitting.     Risk factors for air embolism following computed tomography-guided percutaneous transthoracic needle biopsy: a systematic review and meta-analysis

    To quantitatively analyze the risk factors for air embolism following computed tomography (CT)-guided percutaneous transthoracic needle biopsy (PTNB) and qualitatively review their characteristics.The databases of PubMed, Embase, Web of Science, Wanfang Data, VIP information, and China National Knowledge Infrastructure were searched on January 4, 2021, for studies reporting the occurrence of air embolisms following CT-guided PTNB. After study selection, data extraction, and quality assessment, the characteristics of the included cases were qualitatively and quantitatively analyzed.A total of 154 cases of air embolism following CT-guided PTNB were reported. The reported incidence was 0.06% to 4.80%, and 35 (22.73%) patients were asymptomatic. An unconscious or unresponsive state was the most common symptom (29.87%). Air was most commonly found in the left ventricle (44.81%), and 104 (67.53%) patients recovered without sequelae. Air location (P < 0.001), emphysema (P = 0.061), and cough (P = 0.076) were associated with clinical symptoms. Air location (P = 0.015) and symptoms (P < 0.001) were significantly associated with prognosis. Lesion location [odds ratio (OR): 1.85, P = 0.017], lesion subtype (OR: 3.78, P = 0.01), pneumothorax (OR: 2.16, P = 0.003), hemorrhage (OR: 3.20, P < 0.001), and lesions located above the left atrium (OR: 4.35, P = 0.042) were significant risk factors for air embolism.Based on the current evidence, a subsolid lesion, being located in the lower lobe, the presence of pneumothorax or hemorrhage, and lesions located above the left atrium were significant risk factors for air embolism
