Light anti-nuclei production in pp collisions at =7 and 14 TeV
A dynamically constrained coalescence model based on the phase space
quantization and classical limit method was proposed to investigate the
production of light nuclei (anti-nuclei) in non-single diffractive (NSD) pp
collisions at =7 and 14 TeV. This calculation was based on the final
hadronic state in the PYTHIA and PACIAE model simulations, the event sample
consisted of 1.2 events in both simulations. The PACIAE model
calculated yield of 6.247 in NSD pp collisions at
=7 TeV is well comparing with the ALICE rough datum of 5.456. It indicated the reliability of proposed method in some extent. The
yield, transverse momentum distribution, and rapidity distribution of the , , and in NSD pp collisions at
=7 and 14 TeV were predicted by PACIAE and PYTHIA model simulations.
The yield resulted from PACIAE model simulations is larger than the one from
PYTHIA model. This might reflect the role played by the parton and hadron
rescatterings.Comment: 5 pages, 2 figure
Discovery of N-arylsulfonyl-3-acylindole benzoyl hydrazone derivatives as anti-HIV-1 agents
The discovery and development of novel inhibitors with activity against variants of human immunodeficiency virus type 1 (HIV-1) is pivotal for overcoming treatment failure. As our ongoing work on research of anti-HIV-1 inhibitors, 32 N-arylsulfonyl-3-acylindole benzoyl hydrazone derivatives were prepared by introduction of the hydrazone fragments on the N-arylsulfonyl-3-acylindolyl skeleton and preliminarily screened in vitro as HIV-1 inhibitors for the first time. Among of all the reported analogues, eight compounds exhibited significant anti-HIV-1 activity, especially N-(3-nitro)phenylsulfonyl-3- acetylindole benzoyl hydrazone (18) and N-(3-nitro)phenylsulfonyl-3-acetyl-6-methylindole benzoyl hydrazone (23) displayed the most potent anti-HIV-1 activity with EC50 values of 0.26 and 0.31 μg/mL, and TI values of >769.23 and >645.16, respectively. It is noteworthy that introduction of R3 as the methyl group and R2 as the hydrogen group could result in more potent compounds. This suggested that introduction of R3 as the methyl group could be taken into account for further preparation of these kinds of compounds as anti-HIV-1 agents

L), the Eu and Zn atoms are triply bridged by two phenolate O atoms of the Schiff base ligand and one nitrate ion. The five-coordinate Zn atom is in a square-pyramidal geometry with the donor centers of two imine N atoms, two phenolate O atoms and one of the bridging nitrate O atoms. The EuIII center has a ninefold coordination environment of O atoms, involving the phenolate O atoms, two methoxy O atoms, two O atoms from two nitrate ions and one from the bridging nitrate ion. Weak intermolecular C—H⋯O interactions generate a two-dimensional double-layer structure
Suppressed star formation in circumnuclear regions in Seyfert galaxies
Feedback from black hole activity is widely believed to play a key role in
regulating star formation and black hole growth. A long-standing issue is the
relation between the star formation and fueling the supermassive black holes in
active galactic nuclei (AGNs). We compile a sample of 57 Seyfert galaxies to
tackle this issue. We estimate the surface densities of gas and star formation
rates in circumnuclear regions (CNRs). Comparing with the well-known
Kennicutt-Schmidt (K-S) law, we find that the star formation rates in CNRs of
most Seyfert galaxies are suppressed in this sample. Feedback is suggested to
explain the suppressed star formation rates.Comment: 1 color figure and 1 table. ApJ Letters in pres
