A normative price for energy from an electricity generation system: An Owner-dependent Methodology for Energy Generation (system) Assessment (OMEGA). Volume 1: Summary
The utility owned solar electric system methodology is generalized and updated. The net present value of the system is determined by consideration of all financial benefits and costs (including a specified return on investment). Life cycle costs, life cycle revenues, and residual system values are obtained. Break even values of system parameters are estimated by setting the net present value to zero. While the model was designed for photovoltaic generators with a possible thermal energy byproduct, it applicability is not limited to such systems. The resulting owner-dependent methodology for energy generation system assessment consists of a few equations that can be evaluated without the aid of a high-speed computer
A normative price for energy from an electricity generation system: An Owner-dependent Methodology for Energy Generation (system) Assessment (OMEGA). Volume 2: Derivation of system energy price equations
The methodology presented is a derivation of the utility owned solar electric systems model. The net present value of the system is determined by consideration of all financial benefits and costs including a specified return on investment. Life cycle costs, life cycle revenues, and residual system values are obtained. Break-even values of system parameters are estimated by setting the net present value to zero

Adapting Servant Leadership to Follower Maturity:A Dynamic Leadership Approach for a Diverse Environment
Complete description of polarization effects in e^+e^- pair production by a photon in the field of a strong laser wave
We consider production of a e^+e^- pair by a high-energy photon in the field
of a strong laser wave. A probability of this process for circularly or
linearly polarized laser photons and for arbitrary polarization of all other
particles is calculated. We obtain the complete set of functions which describe
such a probability in a compact invariant form. Besides, we discuss in some
detail the polarization effects in the kinematics relevant to the problem of
electron-photon conversion at photon-photon and electron-photon colliders.Comment: 14 pages, 8 figure
Defining health and health inequalities
Objectives:
To examine existing definitions of health and health inequalities and to synthesise the most useful of these using explicit rationale and the most parsimonious text.
Study design:
Literature review and synthesis.
Methods:
Existing definitions of health and health inequalities were identified, and their normative properties were extracted and then critically appraised. Using explicit reasoning, new definitions, synthesising the most useful aspects of existing definitions, were created.
Results:
A definition of health as a structural, functional and emotional state that is compatible with effective life as an individual and as a member of society and a definition of health inequalities as the systematic, avoidable and unfair differences in health outcomes that can be observed between populations, between social groups within the same population or as a gradient across a population ranked by social position are proposed. Population health is a less commonly used term but can usefully be defined to encompass the average, distribution and inequalities in health within a society.
Conclusions:
Clarifying what is meant by the terms health and health inequalities, and the assumptions, emphasis and values that different definitions contain, is important for public health research, practice and policy
Spacecraft instrument calibration and stability
The following topics are covered: instrument degradation; the Solar Backscatter Ultraviolet (SBUV) Experiment; the Total Ozone Mapping Spectrometer (TOMS); the Stratospheric Aerosol and Gas Experiment 1 (SAGE-1) and SAGE-2 instruments; the Solar Mesosphere Explorer (SME) UV ozone and near infrared airglow instruments; and the Limb Infrared Monitor of the Stratosphere (LIMS)
Recent Developments in Eddy Current Testing
From the point of material fatigue and corrosion the objective and quantitative inspection of surfaces and near-surface zones in metallic components by NDT methods are of interest. Eddy-current methods in particular are suitable to solve this inspection problem. In the last years the electric current perturbation was investigated with the special case of yoke magnetization and signal pick-up by magnetic tapes. Finite element codes were applied to bring better interpretation in eddy-current testing, i.e. for the modeling of special interpretation problems in steam generator tube inspection
