Errores de los estudiantes de magisterio frente a situaciones que implican porcentajes

Among the concepts used by mathematicians in the daily life, percentage is one of the most important matter and the teaching of this concept, from a formal point of view, is included in primary and secondary compulsory studies in their mathematic curriculum. For these reasons, in this research study we have wanted to determine which main errors students commit and which are the most difficult percentage situations they have to deal with as training teacher´ students. As an important result, in the development of our research we have discovered three main errors clearly identifiable.Entre los conceptos matemáticos que se utilizan en la vida diaria el porcentaje es uno de los más destacados y su enseñanza, desde el punto de vista formal, está incluida en el currículo de matemáticas de Primaria y Secundaria Obligatoria en España. Por estas razones, en el estudio que presentamos a continuación, hemos querido determinar qué errores cometen y cuáles son las situaciones de porcentaje que les presentan un mayor grado de dificultad a estudiantes de Magisterio, en concreto, hemos podido revelar tres tipos de errores claramente identificable

Concepciones de profesores en formación respecto a la enseñanza del álgebra lineal

En los últimos años ha cobrado interés investigar diversos aspectos relacionados con la enseñanza del álgebra lineal en diferentes niveles educativos. Se han analizado desde la incorporación de nuevas tecnologías hasta el tipo de estrategias para una buena enseñanza de estos contenidos. Esta última línea ha llevado a Harel (2000) a enunciar tres principios fundamentales para su enseñanza: el de concreción, el de necesidad y el de generalidad

Bibliografía usada en la formación matemática del profesorado de infantil

Para realizar el estudio se escogió una muestra de 13 universidades españolas en las que se imparte la titulación y cuyas guías docentes son accesibles desde sus páginas webs. Se descargaron todas las guías docentes y se pasó la información a una base de datos ad hoc. Se realizó un proceso de estandarización de los nombres y de las referencias porque para cada asignatura utilizan formatos distintos incluso en la misma universidad. Se obtuvieron 493 referencias, que se presentan como bibliografía básica, específica, recomendada o complementaria. Posteriormente se hicieron conteos de frecuencias de cada autor, referencia y año para determinar la antigüedad de las mismas

The mixed problem for the Laplacian in Lipschitz domains

We consider the mixed boundary value problem or Zaremba's problem for the Laplacian in a bounded Lipschitz domain in R^n. We specify Dirichlet data on part of the boundary and Neumann data on the remainder of the boundary. We assume that the boundary between the sets where we specify Dirichlet and Neumann data is a Lipschitz surface. We require that the Neumann data is in L^p and the Dirichlet data is in the Sobolev space of functions having one derivative in L^p for some p near 1. Under these conditions, there is a unique solution to the mixed problem with the non-tangential maximal function of the gradient of the solution in L^p of the boundary. Matemáticas para la sociedad: una visión desde los libros de aritmética del siglo XVI

Dentro de las investigaciones en Historia de la Educación Matemática el análisis de libros antiguos utilizados para la enseñanza de las matemáticas supone una importante fuente de información. Esto se debe a que los textos antiguos ayudan a reconstruir los conceptos, a contextualizarlos y a conocer sus diversos acercamientos, a interrogarse sobre la validez de las formas de argumentar vigentes en otras épocas, y a buscar los fundamentos de las formas actuales. De la misma forma, aportan información sobre lo pedagógico: las formas de organizar y presentar el contenido, sus representaciones, las situaciones, problemas y ejercicios utilizados para explicar mejor los conceptos y métodos matemáticos (Gómez, 2001). En este sentido, el objetivo de este estudio es identificar el interés social que otorgan los autores de libros de aritmética del siglo XVI a las matemáticas, es decir, si los contenidos matemáticos presentes en las obras se pueden encontrar dentro de algún contexto cotidiano, científico, económico, militar, etc

Research in Mathematics Education in Spain: SEIEM Symposia

Spain produces a large amount of research in mathematics education and its results are presented in the symposia of the Spanish Society for Research in Mathematics Education (SEIEM). This paper presents a study of the proceedings of these symposia. Its aim is to identify some bibliometric indicators and networks of institutional collaboration and co-authorship. The analysis was performed with 268 SEIEM documents. We found a low level of scientific collaboration between researchers in the field. Similar results are obtained for international cooperationEn España se realizan un gran número de investigaciones en Educación Matemática y se presentan avances de sus resultados en los simposios de la Sociedad Española de Investigación en Educación Matemática (SEIEM). En este artículo se presenta un estudio de las actas de dichos simposios. El objetivo de este trabajo es identificar algunos indicadores bibliométricos así como las redes de colaboración institucional y de coautoría. Análisis cienciométrico de las tesis doctorales españolas en Educación Matemática (1976-1998)

Este estudio realiza una revisión cienciométrica usando indicadores de productividad y citación en una muestra de tesis españolas sobre Educación Matemática defendidas en la Universidad española desde 1976 hasta 1998. En concreto, se han analizado 135 tesis recuperadas usando un instrumento de recogida de datos ad hoc. Se infieren patrones cienciométricos contundentes que podrían ayudar a posicionar la Educación Matemática española sobre un estatus científico más firme.This study accomplishes a scientometric review relative to productivity and citation indicators over a sample of doctoral dissertations about Mathematics Education, defended in the Spanish university during the period 1976-1998. We have analysed 135 retrieved thesis using an ad hoc instrument for data collection. Strong scientometric patterns are inferred which could help the Spanish Mathematics Education stand on a sounder scientific status

Research in Mathematics Education through Spanish scholarly publications

Se presenta un estudio bibliométrico y de análisis de las redes de colaboración en los artículos de investigación en Educación Matemática publicados en una muestra de revistas españolas en el período 1999-2008. Para ello se han analizado los 774 artículos publicados en un conjunto de ocho revistas españolas representativas verificándose el cumplimiento de las leyes o patrones propios de la Cienciometría y comprobándose un bajo grado de colaboración científica entre los investigadores del área y también entre las institucionesWe present a bibliometric study of research articles on mathematics education, as well as an analysis of networks of collaboration in the same, based on a sample of Spanish journals published during the period 1999-2008. Estudio bibliométrico de la investigación educativa en las universidades de Andalucía en el SSCI (2002-2010)

The ten Andalusian public universities have a total figure of 1312 professors linked to departments related to educational research. According to this, it could be said that there are enough research staff to make educational scientific production visible. Despite the fact that there are previous studies on Spanish educational production, these are not focused in Andalusia as a whole. The goal is to analyse the educational production, indexed in the Social Sciences Citation Index database (SSCI), carried out by researchers affiliated to some of the Andalusian universities. In particular, we analyse co-authorship patterns, diachronic production, language of the publication and the production per university. We utilize usual bibliometrical techniques for collecting and analysing data. We make the search in the SSCI from which we filter the information and download it. We used a local relational database made for this purpose. A standardization process of the author name and institution was made. An exponential rise of the production analysed is observed, partially due to the increment of educational journals that are indexed by the SSCI along the period studied. Spanish journals have the highest production rate. Likewise, a collaboration networks between Andalusian universities and others was revealed. The research articles are the 89.7% of the whole production analysed. The resulting collaboration index is slightly higher than others found in previous studies in the fields of Social Sciences and Education. In addition, it is shown that the collaboration among the Andalusian universities is low
