From Mining Innovations to Sustainable Development: Keynote Speakers of the First to the Second International Innovative Mining Symposium
24-26 April, 2017 the Scientific Practical Conference “International Innovative Mining Symposium (in memory of Prof. Vladimir Pronoza)” was successfully organized at T.F. Gorbachev Kuzbass State Technical University - KuzSTU (Kemerovo Russia). More than 20 participants submitted their papers in presence, and more than 40 authors sent their papers for virtual participation. The main participants of the conference - Keynote Speakers - paid special attention to the development of international cooperation of technical universities as a form of accelerating the transfer of innovations in mineral resources mining and processing
Harmonized European Standards for Proof of Competence of Cranes
With EN 13001-1 ff. a harmonized set of standards for safety of cranes was and is established. Due to harmonization the use of the standards leads to the assumption of conformity with the safety requirements of the machinery directive. A major argument for the application of the standards. The standards comprise new concepts of proof of competence in comparison to previous standards. Keywords of these new concepts are “Classification”, “Limit state method”, “Mass Distribution Class” and “Partial safety factors”. The article gives an overview to EN 13001-1, EN 13001-2 and EN 13001-3-1. This is the set of standards for proof of the structural parts of a crane. The main aspects of the standards are shown and discussed with regard to their impact on calculation
The Experience of Using Innovative Artificial Filter Arrays on South Kuzbass Open Pit: Case Study
The article describes the detailed example of placement of artificial filter arrays in one of Kuzbass open pits. It is proved that the use of the existing rock dump as an artificial filter array allows cleaning the quarry wastewater to the required parameters. Therefore, for water purification, it is possible to pile a new array as well as to use the existing dump, which will reduce the operating costs and the land consumption of open pit mining operations. Also, a brief methodology for determining the parameters of the artificial filter array is given in the article, taking into account the volume of contaminated water, the degree of its contamination and the location of the filter. The proposed complex of measures significantly improves the geo-ecological situation of mining region
Perspectives for the Transportless Mining Technology in Siberia and Far East Coal Deposits
In accordance with the long-term program for the coal industry development in Russia until 2030, the growth in the share of the Far East Federal District in the total coal production should be 2.5% compared to 2018. Production volumes in the Siberian Federal District to 2030 should reach 309.5 million tons. These numbers are planned to be achieved through the implementation of large-scale infrastructure projects for the development of new coal deposits with convenient mining and geological conditions, as well as the creation of new coal mining centres in Yakutia, Zabaykalsky region, Tyva Republic and other eastern regions of Russia. Taking into account the development of power generating facilities in Far East and Baikal region, coal consumption is planned to increase from 119 million tons in 2020 to 150 million tons per year in 2030. The realization of the planned indicators should be carried out taking into account the use of coal mining technologies that meet the mining and geological conditions of the deposits in this region. For a large number of coal fields in Eastern Siberia and Far East, transportless technology will be preferred
Defining the Main Parameters of Hydro-Dumping at Open Pits
Currently, the mining industry faces the problem of intensifying extraction and processing of mineral raw materials with minimal costs forthe development of mineral deposits. It should be noted that the greatest degree of technological processes mechanization in the development of deposits is achieved by means of hydromechanization. For example, in the development of placer deposits by the open pit method, the application of hydromechanization, with the appropriate parameters, ensures the necessary disintegration of clay inclusions at minimal cost. It allows solving the issues of the most complete extraction of a useful component. Increasing the effectiveness of the use of a hydromechanized method is favored by the use of bulldozers, excavators and other open pit mining machinery for loosening the rocks. With a rational design of the circulating water supply systems, hydromechanization means using the methods of limited waterconsumption. The hydraulic method for mining mineral deposits is taken to the leading place from the point of view of environmental protection. At thesame time, the greatest environmental effect is achieved under the condition of an accurate calculation of the main parameters of hydro-dumps
Study of slurry dewatering in a horizontally placed shell filtering construction
Dewatering of water-coal slurry or thickened product under conditions of operating SUEK-Kuzbass JSC enrichment plants is a promising direction of obtaining technogenic mineral resources. It should also be noted that the quality of the obtained product will be directly influenced by the quality of the initial raw materials. If the content of carbon particles is high and the average ash content of the solid phase is low, such a slurry will be of interest in terms of obtaining additional volumes of coal after dewatering. The object of this study is water-coal slurry obtained at the outlet of the radial thickener (thickened product). The subject of the research is technology of thickened product dewatering with the use of shell filter constructions. The aim of the work is to develop and substantiate parameters of low-cost technology of thickened product dewatering to ensure an increase in economic and environmental efficiency of mining operations. The idea of the work is to use the laws of mass transfer of suspended particles of water-coal slurry by filtering through specially made shell filter constructions (SFC)
Innovative numerical modelling of technogenic rock arrays structure
Numerical simulation of bulk technogenic rock arrays, unlike the full-scale, has a number of advantages. They are: the large amount of low cost measurements; operative selection of parameters necessary for the environment with the given properties; calculation of stress-strain state and assessment of the array sustainability; calculation of rock arrays filtration properties that are used as filters for mining enterprises sewage, etc. The article describes the method of numerical simulation of structure of bulk disjointed rock arrays, describes the basic initial and boundary conditions of the model; represents the numerical model visualization of the array, created with the use of peripheral dumping (as an array with more textured and visual segregation of granulometric composition adjustment). The basic applications of numerical modeling of technogenic rock arrays in the mining processes are described. Comparative analysis of the real and simulated array structure shows the adequacy of the numerical model and the developed for its creation algorithm, which in turn allows judging the quality of the study. Also, the adequacy of building models is supported by a high convergence of the experimental and calculated figures depending on the filtration rate values of the particle size distribution of technogenic rock arrays
