    ABSTRACT Innovation is an idea, or renewal that is developed to achieve certains goals and solve a problem. During the current pandemic, students and teachers are not allowed to interact directly with each other and gather. The importance of an innovation in the implementation of learning today is so that teachers and students can interract with each other easily so that learning activities continue to run actively and fun. This study aims to describe the innovation of Islamic religious education teachers in the implementation of learning and identify the supporting factors and inhibiting factors for the innovation of Islamic religious education teachers in the implementation of learning during the pandemic at SMP Negeri 6 Surakarta. This research is included in qualitative research and uses a phenomenolgical approach to examine the innovation of islamic religious education teachers in the implementation of learning. As for the data collection using the method of observation, interviews, and documentation. The result of this study found that the innovation of islamic religious education teachers in implementing learning during the pandemic were quantum learning model innovation and electronic learning innovation. The supporting factors in the implementation of Islamic religious education teachers innovation are the teacher’s willingness to innvate, the desire and activeness of student in participating in learning activities, and supporting facilities.
