An injectivity theorem on snc compact K\"ahler spaces: an application of the theory of harmonic integrals on log-canonical centers via adjoint ideal sheaves
Let be a log-canonical (lc) pair, in which is a compact K\"ahler
manifold and is a reduced snc divisor, and let be a holomorphic line
bundle on equipped with a smooth metric . Via the use
of the adjoint ideal sheaves (constructed from and ) and the
associated residue morphisms, sections of on
(as well as those of on ) can be related to
the -valued holomorphic top-forms on each lc center of by an
inductive use of a certain residue exact sequence derived from the adjoint
ideal sheaves. The theory of harmonic integrals is valid on each lc center
(which is compact K\"ahler), so this provides a pathway to apply the techniques
in harmonic theory to the possibly singular K\"ahler space . To illustrate
the use of such apparatus in problems concerning lc pairs, we prove a
Koll\'ar-type injectivity theorem for the cohomology on when is
semi-positive. This in turn also solves the conjecture by Fujino on the
injectivity theorem for the compact K\"ahler lc pair , providing an
alternative proof of a recent result by Cao and P\u{a}un.Comment: 30 page
Antiferroquadrupole order and magnetic field induced octupole in CeB6
We have studied the antiferroquadrupole ordered phase of CeB6 in magnetic fields by resonant x-ray diffraction. By analyzing the significant change in the energy spectrum on reversing the field direction along [1̅ 1 0], we have deduced field dependencies of the antiferro components of magnetic dipole, electric quadrupole, and magnetic octupole moments which are simultaneously induced in the Ce 4f orbital with a propagation vector (1/2,1/2,1/2). The data treatments are based on theoretically calculated spectral functions. The existence of the field-induced octupole is also concluded for other field directions. We also show direct evidence for the formation of a linear-combination-type antiferroquadrupole order parameter in magnetic fields, which is expressed as 〈αOyz+βOzx+γOxy〉 and changes continuously with the field direction (α,β,γ). A possibility of observing the quadrupolar fluctuation is also pointed out
Carrier conversion from terahertz wave to dual-wavelength near-infrared light injection-locking to optical comb using asynchronous nonpolarimetric electro-optic downconversion with electro-optic polymer modulator
THz waves are promising wireless carriers for next-generation wireless
communications, where a seamless connection from wireless to optical
communication is required. In this study, we demonstrate carrier conversion
from THz waves to dual-wavelength NIR light injection-locking to an optical
frequency comb using asynchronous nonpolarimetric electro-optic downconversion
with an electro-optic polymer modulator. THz wave in the W band was obtained as
a stable photonic RF beat signal of 1 GHz with a signal-to-noise ratio of 25 dB
via the proposed THz-to-NIR carrier conversion. In addition, the results imply
the potential of the photonic detection of THz waves for wireless-to-optical
seamless communication.Comment: 15 pages, 5 figure

Efficacy and safety of micafungin in empiric and D-index-guided early antifungal therapy for febrile neutropenia ; A subgroup analysis of the CEDMIC trial
Objectives: The D-index is defined as the area over the neutrophil curve during neutropenia. The CEDMIC trial confirmed the noninferiority of D-index-guided early antifungal therapy (DET) using micafungin to empirical antifungal therapy (EAT). In this study, we evaluated the efficacy and safety of micafungin in these settings.
Methods: From the CEDMIC trial, we extracted 67 and 113 patients who received micafungin in the DET and EAT groups, respectively. Treatment success was defined as the fulfilment of all components of a five-part composite end point. Fever resolution was evaluated at seven days after the completion of therapy.
Results: The proportion of high-risk treatments including induction chemotherapy for acute leukemia and allogeneic hematopoietic stem cell transplantation was significantly higher in the DET group than in the EAT group (82.1% vs. 52.2%). The efficacy of micafungin was 68.7% (95%CI: 56.2–79.4) and 79.6% (71.0–86.6) in the DET and EAT groups, respectively. When we focused on high-risk treatments, the efficacy was 69.1% (55.2–80.9%) and 78.0% (65.3–87.7%), respectively (P = 0.30). There was no significant difference in any of the 5 components between the two groups.
Conclusions: The efficacy of micafungin in patients undergoing high-risk treatment was not strongly impaired in DET compared to that in EAT
