    Pelaamista ja conittamista : Traconin kävijäryhmän segmentointi

    Tämän opinnäytetyön tarkoituksena on selvittää, ketkä käyvät Traconissa, ja ovatko pelit osasyynä tähän. Tapahtuma on jokavuotinen kokoontuminen, joka on järjestetty jo kymmenen kertaa. Tracon on anime- ja roolipelitapahtuma, jossa samanhenkiset ihmiset tapaavat. Opinnäytetyössä käydään läpi, mitä Tracon pitää sisällään, ja tästä siirrytään käsittelemään segmentointia. Tämän jälkeen käsittelyyn otetaan erilaisia pelaamismahdollisuuksia. Lopuksi tarkastellaan tuloksia. Tutkimuksessa käytettiin aineistonkeruumenetelmänä kyselytutkimusta, johon pääsi vastaamaan verkossa. Kyselyn linkki julkaistiin niin Traconin Facebook- että Twitter-sivuilla. Saatuja vastauksia analysoitiin sisällönanalyysilla ja ristiintaulukoinnilla. Kyselyyn vastasi 512 henkilöä. Tutkimuksen perusteella Traconin kävijöistä valtaosa on naispuolisia opiskelijoita. Ikäryhmä painottuu 18 ikävuodesta 21:een. Videopelien pelaamista harrastaa suurin osa päivittäin pääsääntöisesti tietokoneella. Tapahtumassa vetää puoleensa luennot sekä cosplay. Roolipelit sekä pelipiste ovat osana kokemusta, eivätkä niinkään suurimpana vetovoimatekijänä.The purpose of this thesis was to find out who is visiting the event and do the games have anything to do with it. The event is an annual convention, which now has been held for ten times. Tracon is an anime and roleplaying event, where like-minded people meet. First, in the theoretical part of the thesis, there is the introduction to Tracon. Next follows an explanation of what segmentation is and the different ways to do it are discussed. In the fifth chapter different ways to play games are presented. Finally, in the end of the thesis, are the results of the research. The data collection method in this research was a survey, which took place online. The survey link was published both on Tracon’s Facebook page and Twitter feed. The answers were analyzed using typology and cross tabulation. The survey got 512 replies. According to the research the majority of Tracon’s attendees are female students. The age group ranges from 18 to 21. Gaming is a daily activity for the attendees, principally performed on computers. The event attracts people through its lectures and cosplay opportunity. The roleplaying and the gaming spot are a part of the experience but these do not form a big part of the attraction

    Two new 3-fold interpenetrated 3D microporous metal-organic coordination polymers (MOCPs) of Cu(II), [Cu<SUB>3</SUB>(bipy)<SUB>1.5</SUB>(2,6-ndc)<SUB>3</SUB>]<SUB>n</SUB> (1) and {[Cu(bpe)<SUB>0.5</SUB>(2,6-ndc)]·0.5H<SUB>2</SUB>O}<SUB>n</SUB> (2) (bipy = 4,4′-bipyridine; bpe = 1,2-bis(4-pyridyl)ethane; and 2,6-ndc = 2,6-naphthalenedicarboxylate), have been synthesized using a mixed-ligand system and structurally characterized by single-crystal X-ray diffraction study. Room-temperature reaction of Cu(II) with bipy and 2,6-ndc affords 1, whereas reaction with bpe and 2,6-ndc yields 2. Structure determination reveals that in both cases, a 2D square grid made by Cu(II) and 2,6-ndc with the aid of Cu<SUB>2</SUB>(CO<SUB>2</SUB>)<SUB>4</SUB> paddlewheel building block is connected by bipy (1) or bpe (2) organic pillar results 3D &#x00391;-polonium type frameworks. Framework 1 is rigid and robust without any guest molecules, whereas 2 is flexible, realized by the guest induced structural transformations. Both the frameworks show high thermal stability. Framework 1 and dehydrated form of 2, i.e 2′ contains 16.6% and 21.4% void space, respectively and Langmuir surface area calculated from nitrogen adsorption study for 1 and 2′ is 113.0 and 337.5 m<SUP>2</SUP>/g, respectively. Both the frameworks can store approximately 1 wt % of molecular hydrogen at 77 K and 15 bar, in particular, the density of adsorbed hydrogen in 1 is one of the highest reported so far in porous MOCPs. Compounds 1 and 2′ can also store 11.0 and 13.2 wt % carbon dioxide at 195 K

    UV-Induced Ubiquitylation of XPC Protein Mediated by UV-DDB-Ubiquitin Ligase Complex

    SummaryThe xeroderma pigmentosum group C (XPC) protein complex plays a key role in recognizing DNA damage throughout the genome for mammalian nucleotide excision repair (NER). Ultraviolet light (UV)-damaged DNA binding protein (UV-DDB) is another complex that appears to be involved in the recognition of NER-inducing damage, although the precise role it plays and its relationship to XPC remain to be elucidated. Here we show that XPC undergoes reversible ubiquitylation upon UV irradiation of cells and that this depends on the presence of functional UV-DDB activity. XPC and UV-DDB were demonstrated to interact physically, and both are polyubiquitylated by the recombinant UV-DDB-ubiquitin ligase complex. The polyubiquitylation altered the DNA binding properties of XPC and UV-DDB and appeared to be required for cell-free NER of UV-induced (6-4) photoproducts specifically when UV-DDB was bound to the lesion. Our results strongly suggest that ubiquitylation plays a critical role in the transfer of the UV-induced lesion from UV-DDB to XPC

    Emergent Rank-5 'Nematic' Order in URu2Si2

    Novel electronic states resulting from entangled spin and orbital degrees of freedom are hallmarks of strongly correlated f-electron systems. A spectacular example is the so-called 'hidden-order' phase transition in the heavy-electron metal URu2Si2, which is characterized by the huge amount of entropy lost at T_{HO}=17.5K. However, no evidence of magnetic/structural phase transition has been found below T_{HO} so far. The origin of the hidden-order phase transition has been a long-standing mystery in condensed matter physics. Here, based on a first-principles theoretical approach, we examine the complete set of multipole correlations allowed in this material. The results uncover that the hidden-order parameter is a rank-5 multipole (dotriacontapole) order with 'nematic' E^- symmetry, which exhibits staggered pseudospin moments along the [110] direction. This naturally provides comprehensive explanations of all key features in the hidden-order phase including anisotropic magnetic excitations, nearly degenerate antiferromagnetic-ordered state, and spontaneous rotational-symmetry breaking.Comment: See the published version with more detailed discussion

    Systematic mechanochemical preparation of a series of coordination pillared layer frameworks.

    A detailed investigation into the mechanochemical synthesis of coordination pillared-layer frameworks (CPLs), particularly CPL-1, was carried out. In the case of CPL-1, a two-step reaction was observed (from the starting reactants to the final product). In the conventional solution process, no intermediate state was detected. We found that moisture is essential in both the reaction steps. After the final product was washed, it showed the same sorption ability as the product prepared from a solution process. We further demonstrated the systematic preparation of other CPLs (CPL-2, 3, 4, 5, and 15) by the mechanochemical method under humid conditions, even though some of the ligands are almost insoluble in water. Our findings indicate that mechanochemical synthesis is a promising alternative method for the systematic and large-scale production of PCPs. Its advantages include the following: reduced pollution, low cost, simplicity of the process, ease of handling, efficient reaction rate, selectivity, and the issue of low solubility of reactants is overcome
